Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

This would make a nice gift--it's a short, pretty illustrated collection of ideas. We could all use a little more self-care these days.

Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a temporary digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

This would be a nice book to give as a gift for someone struggling in these strange times. It is almost an aide-memoir to what we can all do to be kinder to ourselves. There were some lovely tips and hints and how we don't need a whole day to practise self-care. The author clearly sees self-care as an unselfish practice and that is indeed right. It is not just about indulging - it's necessary for our physical and emotional survival. The images were just beautiful too and really made this a joy to look at. Unfortunately there were a number of pages I couldn't read due to the formatting and the switching of orientation.

Over the last year, many of us have been feeling overwhelmed and realise that we need to look after ourselves a little bit more. Self care sounds so easy, yet most of us don’t self care enough, often struggling to find the time or motivation. In Me Time, author Jessica Sanders gives an introduction to self care, sharing personal insights and inspiring quotes. This colourful illustrated book is so bright and cheerful that it lifted my mood straightaway. It’s an easy book to dip into when you’re feeling low, with simple ideas for ‘me time’. From small steps, such as meditation, drinking more water or even lighting a candle, to longer ones, such as reading a book (of course!), taking a break from technology or going on a half-day hike. So there’s something for everyone, to suit all budgets and how much time you have available. Self care isn’t just about looking after yourself physically and emotionally, but is also about caring for others. Tell someone how much you appreciate them. Find a local volunteering opportunity. This beautifully designed book is packed with ideas and examples, and even has a further resources guide at the back. A perfect comforting gift to yourself – or a friend in need!

Although I did know most things stated in this book already, I still found it to be a useful guide in my quest to investing more in self care. It mentions a lot of ways to practice self care, from 5 minute self care activities to a half day of self care activities. I thought this was a very nicely illustrated book and it is surely a great start if you want to start investing in self care!

Everyone deserves a copy of 'Me Time'. I love the focus on how important self care is and it's not all bubble baths. The book itself is an act of self care. The illustrations are gorgeous and keep you flipping pages! An assortment of inclusive and thoughtful activities categorized by how long they take. A really thoughtful and easy way to start incorporating these activities into your life.

This book “ Me Time” by Jessica Sanders is a very colorful and beautiful book. The colors and illustrations are very attractive and invoke happy feelings. The book reads very and easily and present the message in an informal and easy to understand way.

The book explains what self care really is an covers all aspects of self care. It also gives us idea how to start practicing self care with a plan of 1 or 5 minutes to an hour and by day and week or a month.

Jessica also provides lots of other references and readings on the subject for those who want delve deeper into the subject

I really like the book and in my opinion it makes a great present or a coffee table book for anyone to take a peak and learn a lot about the basics of self care in a very short time.

I would like to thank the publisher, White Lion Publishing and netgalley for providing me with a temporary ARC of this beautiful book about self care. The opinions reflected in this review are my own and independentLy derived.

I am a huge advocate of taking time for yourself although I am much more likely to advise someone to part take in self care than to recognise my own need.

With the stress of Christmas and the never ending black cloud that is Covid looming close by it is important to remember to look after our mental health as well as the physical.

This is a really positive, cute, easy to read without being patronising self help book with gorgeous illustrations throughout! It breaks down what self care is... not just a lush bath bomb and a glass of wine, although that’s a perfectly acceptable option too. It provides some exercises to understand your values and priorities to ensure you are looking after them, and then a vast list of ideas ranging from 5 minutes to whole days of self care activities. So the I don’t have time excuse is thrown straight out of the window.

I was incredibly lucky to receive an ARC from @netgalley and @quarto.knows but I will be purchasing a real copy when it is published (5th January 2021) as I feel it is one that will be helpful to pick up and review many times.

Me Time by Jessica Sanders is such a great little book that discusses self-care. I love her overall message that self-care is essential, holistic, and is not inherently indulgent. Self-care doesn't need to be earned, rather it's necessary for all. She demystifies the topic and breaks self-care down into four equally important categories including care for the physical, mental, future and spiritual self. I appreciate the personal touch the author adds with sharing her own experiences and perception of self-care and how it has changed over time. The author's voice really comes through and I love how down-to-earth she is throughout this book.

Often I hear from people that they don't have time for self-care. Sanders provides self-care ideas ranging from 1 minute to half a day showing that it doesn't need to be long, but it can be if you have the time. I love the variety of activities and can see myself taking Sanders' suggestions. I also loved the quotes sprinkled throughout the book. As a helping professional, I could see myself referencing this book when planning my own self-care or even using this book in my work with college students.

This book was very colourful in design, which was appealing to me.
The self care exercises are varied and split into different times to spend on those exercises. From one minute to two hours, there’s something for everyone.

How frustrating is it to be told by all the different sources the things you must do to be successful in life? This book definitely does NOT do that. It instead takes an empathetic approach and gives bite size approaches and allows you to have kindness and patience with yourself when dealing with life. This is so necessary for everyone to read in life. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I started this book this morning and could not stop reading because it was that good., I feel like because we have had a crazy year it's just so normal for us to want to self-care but this book brought a whole new meaning to Me TIme. I am always complaining that I don't have time to do anything but this book gave ideas on what one can do with 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or half a day to spare. I highly recommend this book and I recommend this book to anyone who has been so overwhelmed with life, work, and just in need of ME TIME. The cute illustrations and the prettiness of this book make it worth it. Huge thanks to the publisher for my e-ARC

I thought this book was brilliant, so many people could benefit from reading this. I liked the fact that it had time chucks of self-care, so if you only had 5 minutes what you could do, or longer what you could do in that time. I also like the fact that they have put some resources and recommendation in the back of the book, if you are struggling and need further help and guidance.

Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.

This book is a MUST for all women especially during #COVID. Me Time by @iamjesssanders is a book focusing on what self care really is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ It has a long list of really thoughtful suggestions about what self care you can do in different amounts of time since we all know that our time is limited. I would highly suggest that all women own this book as a reference when you have some me time.

Thanks #netgalley for the read and @whitelionpublishing.

Really quirky book, filled with some excellent ideas and some unique illustrations.

Sometimes we do forget to take time for ourselves, and I love how this book doesn't just go through the 'usual' self-care tips you hear constantly. I also love how its broken into length of time sections.

Would make a great gift too!

This is a really nice wee book that highlights the importance of taking care of ourselves. Some of the suggestions in the book may seem obvious but quite often if you're at the stage where you need to take action, you're overwhelmed and unable to think how to. This book helps with that in a friendly, well thought out manner.

A beautifully illustrated book, that I can imagine being beautiful as a gift - especially to a friend in need. Sanders sets out the basics of self-care in a comforting, compelling way that is grounded in evidence (I really valued her citations at the end of the book). I think the most unique aspect of 'Me Time' is the second half, which recommends self-care acts depending on how long they take. There is a section containing tasks that take a minute or less, right up to self-care commitments that take half a day or more to enact. This really grounds Sanders' discussion of the importance of self-care as the reader can begin to imagine how they would integrate the holistic concept of self-care into their own life. This is comforting, practical and where the book comes into its own.

Good advice, if not groundbreaking, and well presented. This is the kind of book I think is well suited for gifts - colorful, fun, easy to read through and potentially quite helpful. This would be a good introduction to self-care for someone who's quite new at this or doesn't read a lot of self-help books.
