About Tomorrow by Abbi Glines is a beautiful second chance love story, and my first book by this author. I found this book to be a quick read, with a well developed plot and characters. There are a lot of twists and turns that kept me reading. About Tomorrow feels like a roller coaster ride of emotions. I was so touched by this book, at times I found myself holding my breath. If you love second chance romances, I strongly recommend this book. I will be reading more books by Ms. Glines.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I stumbled upon reading this book by Abbi Glines actually, and reading the blurb of this says its all. Two young friends who may came lovers for a short while. Then in a blink of an eye they weren’t. I was intrigued about what happed to Creed and Sailor’s relationship. That one horrible tragedy can affect their loved ones. I am glad I had the opportunity to read this book and I keep editing my review. Ok, let me try to refocus here. I kinda wanted to see the dual POV of Creed and Sailor, but we only got the POV of Sailor and her memories of the past events.
I enjoyed the back and forth banter between Creed and Sailor. How after so many years of not seeing one another they fought their feelings to be together. Well technically Sailor was already in another relationship when they were re-introduced to one another. Anyways, I had wanted to see how Creed dealth with his healing and read some of Sailor's healing in the beginning. But, I'm assuming that at the end they both are finding a way to heal together? I do recommend reading this book, I wished the author went into a little more detail about Creed's family. But, how the lack of Sailor's parenting made her who she is stronger or was that the love of her Gran Bea? I think it's Gran's love that made her stronger.
I enjoyed this book. I really liked Sailor. I thought she was a well done character and I was happy with her development. I would have liked to read from Creed's perspective a bit more. I liked how the main characters interacted and it seems like this book was a good setup for some more stories about the people in town.
I was expecting a lot more from Abbi Glines. Right from the start, the book was predictable. Not what I have come to expect from Abbi Glines.
I love Abbi Glines and when I seen she was releasing a new book I was so excited! I devoured this book so quickly, it was unputdownable! I love a story that has you hooked from the very first page!
Creed and Sailor were childhood sweethearts and lost touch after suffering a tragedy. Some years later they reconnect but they have grown up, Sailor is dating Griff. When Sailor and Creed grow close again all the feels come back. I loved getting little snippets of their past it explained so much about why they grew apart.
If you love a second chance romance with some heartbreak then I would definitely recommend this book!
Abbi Glines always manages the perfect blend of romance, sex, and a tug on the heartstrings while wrapping it up in a pretty bow! This book delivers on all fronts! Thankful to NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy of this book.
It had been so long since I read a book by Abbi Glines, so to say I was excited when I got my hands on About Tommorow is the understatement of the century. I never realized how much I missed Abbi Gline's books until I dove into Sailor's and Creed's story. This book was a total joy to read. It was fast paced and a compete page turner with wonderful and relatable characters.
About Tomorrow is a heart-wrenching novel about two people who were meant to be. Sailor Copeland and Creed Sullivan had been in love with each other since they were children, but their love didn't get their chance to blossom because something terrible happened that changed their lives forever. Creed's twin and Sailor's best friend, Cora, was battling with depression and they had been too wrapped up around each other to notice the change in her behavior, which ultimately led to her commiting suicide.
The guilt and the unimaginable pain Creed was feeling after they found his sister dead made him push away Sailor and destroy each and every chance they had at making their relationship work.
Fast forward six years later, Sailor finally has her life under control again. She's in a relationship with good man, Griff, she's happy and she's so over Creed Sullivan. Or so she thought, up until the moment he saw him standing in her boyfriend's apartment. Apparently, Griff's roommate has a cousin who will be living with them for a a few days, and that roommate is none other than Creed.
Seeing him again shouldn't have brought back all those feelings she had buried all those years ago, but it did. Creed had owned her heart once upon a time, and he's determined to own it again. And this time, he's not letting go of Sailor.

I loved each and every character in this book! Sailor was such a strong character, with a heart of gold. She tried her best not to hurt the people she cared about, but that didn't mean she always succeeded. Her love for Creed was evident from the very start, even though she tried to convince herself she didn't care about him anymore. I also really liked her boyfriend, Griff, he was a decent guy who cared about her a lot. I was sad to see him get his heart broken, but in all honesty Sailor and him were never going to work. It was evident to whom her heart belonged to.
Creed was just too good for words. His love for Sailor was something else! He was there when her boyfriend wasn't. He was the one that got to hear Sailor's accomplishments, he wanted to be the one beside her when she was excited, exhausted, happy, sad. He had missed all these moments with Sailor for far too many years and he wasn't about to miss any more.
And lastly, Cora. This girl only appeared briefly but she was such a sweetheart, I immediately liked her.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve submerged myself in an Abbi Glines novel and going back after all this time feels like reconnecting with an old friend. About Tomorrow is a beautiful romance, one filled with emotion and heart and I was invested in this story from the get-go. It felt much deeper than the other books I’ve read from Abbi as it deals with deeply emotional issues like suicide, depression, and grief, but I think this is what made me love it even more. It’s nice to see authors using real world issues in their stories and Abbi does a nice job bringing these issues to light while also allowing her characters to fully submit to their emotions in front of us readers.
I don’t want to talk much about the plot as this is a book driven by emotion and should be read and felt without spoilers. So, I’m going to leave my review a little short than others I have written. I do want readers to know that Abbi has written something timely in this novel and could be relatable to many people. The characters and the way they handle their feelings may not be something every reader likes, but I can fully say that I understood and even sympathized with them despite some of their actions. This is a good book and one I think will leave an impression on many readers.
Is this even the same author who wrote the Sweet Little (or sweet something) series? Because the writing and the grit and the emotions in this book are so incredibly well-done here that I’m blown away.
Creed and Sailor have a lot of healing to do, and seeing each other again brings it all back to he surface like it happened a few hours ago, rather than years ago. The only problem? Creed has a lot to atone for and Sailor has someone else. But sometimes, the heart remembers what it wanted and no longer allows the head to lie about what feels right. And this story is a perfectly crafted trip down that type of bumpy road. Both Creed and Sailor need to face the pain of their shared loss and the fact that Griff is distant at best makes that crack in Sailor’s resolve break wide open eventually. And from there, it’s all about how to deal with the truth.
Yes, there is sensitive subject matter. In many ways. But this book is less about the drama of hurts and more about the reconciliation and forgiveness of past and present hurts, as well as how to best deal with them. Sailor doesn’t shy away from what she’s done, just as Creed refuses to back down from what he wants. And the fact that this all feels realistic enough to draw the reader in makes it a fantastic read from start to finish.
This childhood friends to lovers story with a love tested by life and an unexpected face to face that leads to second chance at love was a great read. I absolutely enjoyed Sailor, Creed and Griff characters along with some of the side characters. Sailor and Creed share a past but Griff is her present and he was there to mend her broken pieces. Sailor is in love with both men but how can she avoid hurting any one of them. Her heart loves one but her soul is destined and calls to another. I hated how Sailor kept making excuses for Griff but he wasn't a bad person, and I couldn't dislike him for having to do what he needed to do for him. At the same time I couldn't hate or dislike Sailor because she did what she needed to do for her. Creed did what he did because he needed to do it for him. Everyone in this story had their faults and had to live with their choices, so it was easy to relate to these characters. The ending was sweet and this is a standalone story but I wished that the epilogue had been more about the couple in the present than about what happened in the past. I just needed a little bit more of them to make this a 5 star read for me since they had just reunited the incident that happened. I would recommend this book to family and friends and of course, I would read other books from this author. I've read quite a few books from her and I haven't been disappointed yet. This story is worth reading.
Let me start by saying I loved Abbi Glines earlier work like the Rosemary Beach series. I haven’t loved her more recent books. For me About Tomorrow fell somewhere in the middle. It was quick and predictable, but i was okay with that. Sailor however annoyed me constantly. I don’t want to put spoilers in, so I’ll just say that her decisions were eye rolling at best.
A modern day Nicolas Sparks, The Notebook.
From the first chapter I was intrigued. By chapter three I was hooked. With each chapter I read I fell more and more in love with these characters. Life happens, even the ugly parts can change a person for the good.
Sailor is the daughter of a famous Nashville country singer. You would assume her life was all glamorous, but all Sailor longer for were summers at her grandmother’s home in New England with her two best friends, Cora and her twin brother Creed.
But life can be cruel as Sailor finds out at 16 and with Cora and Creed no longer in her life she had to fight her way back to reality.
Insert six years, a hot med student boyfriend and Sailor is back in the Boston area with new heartache and a home left to her by her late grandmother. Her grandmother’s home had always been the place she felt the safest and more like home than any other place she had traveled in the world. But can living their without her beloved grandmother and risk seeing her ex be too much for Sailor?
“As a little girl, I’d loved playing with him, and as a teenage girl, I had fallen in love with him.”
Creed and his twin sister Cora could not wait until summer time when Sailor arrived at her grandmother’s house. Over the years, Cora’s best friend had turned into the one girl Creed couldn’t live without. Ice cream cones became stole kisses and much, much more. So why after on major event did Creed turn his back on Sailor and never look back?
“I loved you. I loved you so much it destroyed me. Losing you shut me down, my life no longer felt worth living. The darkness that surrounded me after what you did to me was so bad I didn’t recognize myself anymore.”
Either life is a cruel bastard or and evil genius because Sailor’s return to Boston will test both Creed’s and Sailors’s sanity, morals and heart.
“I stared outside and accepted the fact I wasn’t going to be able to stop this. Creed Sullivan was worse than any drug.”
I give is book five page turning, attention grabbing and soul searching stars.
4 1/2 Stars for this heartbreaking romance!
This story just broke my heart! I just loved Cora ... she is just a good person, always giving ... but not getting much in return. Then there's Creed ... at first, I thought he was a jerk and then I would like him, then he was a jerk, then I would like him ... I kept going back and forth. This story is told from Sailor's POV ... and I wish that I could have gotten into Creed's head to see why he did the things he did. This is a quick read that I would recommend.
Sailor spent summers at her grandmother's house and with her best friends ... twins Cora and Creed Sullivan. Until the summer when they were 17 ... the summer everything changed. Cora died, Creed vanished and Sailor's life would never be the same. Six years later her boyfriend is going to Boston for medical school, so Sailor decides to move to her grandmother's house, because it's only an hour away, instead of staying in Nashville. But while staying with her boyfriend till her things arrive, she runs into Creed and all those intense feeling for him come rushing back. But Creed isn't the same person ... life and circumstances have changed him.

I thought this was an amazing book. I think this has jumped up to be my favorite book Abbi has written. It was very easy to read, and very hard to put down. I felt the characters and situations were very relatable and that made the story feel more real and less like fiction. The only "negative" thing would be that a trigger warning might want to be added for suicide/mental health. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book.
This was one of those quick, predictable romances that you know the ending to but enjoy it anyway. I liked the descriptions of New England in the fall.

I do have to say this is better than her recent work but, not by much. I was really enjoying the story until the cheating happened and all the miscommunication between the characters became a little to much. If you're looking to get your Abbi Gline's fix on, I would just recommending re-reading her previous books. There also should be trigger or content warnings at the beginning of this book for suicide and cheating.
