Thank you to NetGalley, T.R. Ragan and Thomas & Mercer for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.

I always really enjoy Ragan's work and this one was no different. I really enjoy Sawyer and how flawed she is generally just like everyone else. I liked the premise of this one and how wild it becomes with all the copycats and regular people who appreciate what the original criminals are doing. I can understand what these people were up too and was so interested in what was going to happen to everyone else. I enjoyed how quick paced this novel was and I would definitely recommend.

No Going Back is the third book in Ragan's Sawyer Brooks thriller series. If you have not stared the series, I highly recommend you do. Start with book one because they just keep getting better. Thank you NetGalley and T.R. Ragan for the advance reader.

I have to be honest, when I see T.R. Ragan - auto buy. This one is no exception. I was curious how this was going to play out. I can get behind the ending, after all, family right? It truly shows not everything is black and white.
Non stop gut wrenching action. Every couple of pages the author let me catch my breath. Suspense, terror, rage and fear all right there. I do have to say the detective can go suck a lemon, wait, maybe he already did. Love the twists thrown in and the ending, well done. This technically could be read as a stand alone, but to truly appreciate the terror , the rage, the fear see the growth or the collapse I recommend reading the previous books in this series. Make sure you have someone around to give you a hug. Thank you Thomas and Mercer for allowing NetGalley to share this book with me. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

No Going Back by T.R. Ragan is a highly recommended thriller and the third book in the Sawyer Brooks series.

Sawyer has been covering the female vigilantes dubbed The Black Wigs, but now it appears that there are copycats out there dispensing their own extreme and fatal justice to sexual predators and capturing their fear to share on social media. The police think that these copycat vigilantes are related to The Black Wigs group of women, The Crew, and their actions, but Sawyer is positive it is a new person and she sets out to uncover who is behind the crimes. Her investigation leads her to nefarious bullying by a group at a Sacramento children’s home and a gang rape at a fraternity party.

It was very enjoyable to return to Sawyer Brooks and her investigative journalism, setting aside the dark, disturbing content that leads to her investigations. Admittedly, I liked the second book a little more than this third installment in the series, but it still featured a compelling plot and returning readers, like me, will be invested in the novel. The first two thirds of the novel was gripping and much better than the ending in No Going Back. Since I felt book two, Out of Her Mind, did not have a resolution to one of the story lines, I was hoping for that this time around. There is more forward movement in character development and resolution of many of the story lines. It seems that the series may be continuing in a new direction and I'd be interested to see where it goes.

Review of Uncorrected Proof

Sexual predators who have evaded justice are the targets of a vigilante group known as The Black Wigs, so named for the chin-length black wigs each member of the group wears. Investigative journalist Sawyer Brooks, working for the “Sacramento Independent,” is writing their story. But as she learns more about the group, she makes an unexpected discovery.

But it seems that there are copycat vigilantes . . . and men are dying. But these cases don’t match the agenda of The Black Wigs. Who or what is responsible for the murders? And who is following the reporter . . . and why?

This story, the third in the series, works well as a stand-alone as it raises questions about revenge and justice. Well-drawn characters populate this tense, action-filled narrative and the suspense keeps building in this difficult-to-set-aside book where the unfolding story raises new questions as it twists and turns on its way to a satisfying denouement.

Highly recommended

As a longtime and now mostly retired journalist, I can't say I relate well to Sawyer Brooks, an up-and-coming investigative reporter at the Sacramento Independent. Physically and mentally scarred from years of abuse - like her sisters Harper and Aria - she's lugging around baggage that tends to get in the way of her job (which, while I sympathize with what she's gone through, shouldn't be the case in the real world). But hey - this is fiction, so it is what it is.

This one, the third in the series, puts the sisters' mixed-up emotions to the test. Sawyer is working on a story about a female vigilante group dubbed the Black Wigs, whose mission is to avenge the men who abused them (unlike readers, with no idea how what she finds may impact her own life). Now there's a new murder in town which appears to be a similar conquest, but there are differences that make Sawyer suspect there's something else afoot. A copycat, perhaps?

The police don't believe Sawyer, nor do they want her help - which of course just makes her even more determined to get to the truth. She also runs afoul, at least in the beginning, of a co-worker who has years of experience and wants the Black Wigs story for herself. They end up, as my late mother would say, holding hands to keep from fighting - reluctantly joining forces to split the glory. Meantime, murders keep piling up as Sawyer tries to figure out where her relationship with a co-worker is going (if anywhere), her sister Harper seems to go off the rails despite having a loving husband, a couple of kids and another on the way and sister Aria, always a loner, surprises herself by letting go of some baggage that has kept her from forming meaningful relationships.

There's no shortage of action right up to the ending - I was always on the alert to see whose lights got knocked out next, how and by whom. The ending itself wasn't exactly satisfying to me (I'm not much of an "end justifies the means" kind of person). But in the context of this story, and the complexities of these characters, it probably was the only way to go. It also raised the possibility of a new direction for the series - I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. Thanks to the publisher, via NetGalley, for providing me with a pre-release copy to read and review.

This third installment of the Sawyer Brooks series is terrific. Sawyer works as a crime reporter for the Sacramento newspaper and has been closely following the “Black Wigs” female vigilantes in the Sacramento area. That group of women has vowed revenge on the rapists and abusers in their lives. Unfortunately, there seem to be copycat vigilantes who are carrying the idea of revenge too far, and Psycho, Cleo, Lily, and Malice have no connection to the copycats.

What does this mean for their future? Will Sawyer’s world spin out of control? She leaves no stone unturned racing around following leads to find the truth even if it means putting herself in danger. This is an action packed, well written book full of twists and turns. It’s one of those reads where you root even more for the determined hero.

If you don't mind some tough psychological topics this book is fantastic! It may not be for the faint of heart but it's fantastic for a thriller lover. T.R. Ragan has a habit of writing books I just can't put down. This book is no exception.

Thanks to Sawyer Brooks and Netgalley for this advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
This story is about revenge and justice.
Four women come together to get their own justice where the U.S. Justice system let them down.. These women have been raped by men and all have gotten away with it. The plan was to teach them a lesson, show them what it's like to lose.control, and let them go. However, things got out of control.
To make things more complicated one of the sisters of the group was a journalist and was investigating these events for her story.
This really kept me on edge ..a suspenseful exciting read. I recommend this for mystery and thriller lovers.

This felt like closure on the series. If it was, this was a great story. It was nice to see Sawyer grow throughout the series. She was able to establish a closer relationship with her sisters and grow in her career. Maybe the next books will focus on her new career path.

This book was a great addition to the Sawyer Brooks series. Do The Black Wigs now have a copycat? There is much suspense and this is a page turner.

This was an amazing book 3!!! Once I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down. I kept thinking, oh no, what will happen next!!! But, for a short amount of time, I was a little overwhelmed by all the wig wearing killers.. thankfully, I got my mind wrapped around everything and was back to my happy reading bubble and devoured the book in no time.

Lastly, I loved how the author wrapped everything up and even topped this present with a beautiful bow for us.

The third novel in the excellent Swayer Brooks series and the best one yet. The story continues with the female vigilantes known as ‘ The Black Wigs ‘. While investigating, journalist Sawyer Brooks discovers a copycat killer with links to an orphanage that burnt down years ago. She uncovers it had a troubled past and a history of disturbed children who were abused while they were there. Leaving no stone unturned she races around following leads to find the truth even if it means putting herself in danger. This is an action packed, well written book full of twists and turns that you don’t see coming. I particularly love the way the characters have developed during the series and found myself really invested in Swayer and her sisters Harper and Aria. Hopefully we will hear more from them in the future.

T.R Ragan has done it again, an unputdownable thrill ride that will keep you turning pages until the wee hours of the morning. As always the characters are amazing and I love how relatable they are. This is such a unique series. You really can’t decide who is the “bad guy” and who should pay for the crimes. I adore the twists and turns and shocking revelations that always accompany these books. This is no exception and is one hell of a ride.

Justices Is Served!!

This third installment of the Sawyer Brooks series almost feels like a ending. Things were revealed and some plots were concluded.
The ending also feels like a new beginning so whichever it it is it was very powerful.
You can’t help but choose sides after hearing what happened.
T. R.Ragan has written a suspenseful intriguing story.

No Going Back is the second in the Sawyer Brooks series and comes out of the gate running stronger than the first and I really like the first one. Sawyer is still investigating the vigilante group the black wigs and stuck one step behind. A new murder feels like a copy cat killing to Sawyer and the police do not want to listen. Digging in her heals, Sawyer and sister Aria rush headlong into danger turning over every stone on the way to uncover the truth that will leave them both stunned. Thrilling, suspenseful, and full of twists, these books just keep getting better, snagging this reader on page one and not letting go. I love the way the ending promises new beginnings for Sawyer that leave this reader excited for the future of the series. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
