Having recently finished the previously published She Wouldn’t Change a Thing by Sarah Adlakha, I’m happy to have had the chance to read the Advanced Reader’s Edition e-copy; thank you NetGalley and Macmillan-Tor/ Forge Books!

If I could read this emotional story all over again I would like to read it in one sitting, with no distractions. For me any interruptions while I was reading this book led to moments of confusion until I was back on track again. It was mysterious and entertaining, but knowing where I was in the time frame of the story began to become a struggle when trying to understand the purpose of what was happening. Yes, there is a reason for everything, but all the people popping in and out of Maria’s life and dreams had me wishing I had chosen a story without so much confusion.

I will save this amazing quote from the story; it was definitely my favorite.

“Wear your scars proudly. Let them be a testament to where you’ve been and what you’ve survived. They are a road map of your life. They are what made you who you are.”

This wasn't my typical read, but I ended up enjoying the moral and emotional dilemma the main character finds herself in as well as the exploration of of ideas around what happens when we die. This has been compared to Sliding Doors and Life After Life (I enjoyed both!) and I would add the Butterfly Effect as well; however this approach does not include multiple possibilities or back and forths. Not sure I completely followed the ending though! I liked it, but I found myself trying to unravel if it was logically possible. Overall, a good read that made me feel emotionally invested in the outcome.

At sometime we've all asked the question.....what if we could do it all over? Sarah Adlakha has taken that question and put the characters square in the middle of the roll back in time. It's an interesting story line that will leave readers asking what they would have done. Very easy to read as the story line flows from chapter to chapter will so little disrupted time that you'd finish it before you even knew it was close.

Thirty nine year old Maria Forssmann wakes up as her 17 year old self. How is this possible? Maris is an intelligent woman, a psychiatrist, and she can't make sense of the situation. All she wants to do is get back to Mississippi and her life with her husband. But she has no idea how to accomplish that. The complexity of the plot is compelling. It's such a novel premise and it keeps our interest, chapter after chapter. Highly recommend.

I am playing ARC catch-up this January, and finally managed to get to my oldest ARC! I requested this book because the intro excerpt was on BookishFirst, and I was immediately drawn in!

I read 25% of this now, and unfortunately, the only part that interested me was still the intro scene.

This read sort of like 13 Going on 30 but reverse and not funny or cute and with multiple main characters. 😂

I really liked this book. It's an engrossing read, and definitely one I could have read in one sitting (If time permitted). The basic premise is that a woman goes back in time to her teenager self and has to grapple with changing the past. It's a complicated book, and there are so many moving parts I find it difficult to summarize without giving some of it away.

Maria, a Psychologist, wakes up as her 17-year-old self. She is not sure how she got there or how to get back to her present-day family. Her journey back just might give her the chance to make a few changes in history but does she have the courage to make those choices?

I really enjoyed the writing, the characters, and the plot, but I struggled with some of the choices made by the characters. This book had a very complex theme that people are connected by the choices they make in everyday life. It was a very emotional read.

I would recommend this book to readers that enjoy Women's fiction.

What would you do if you could re-live your life starting at 19 years of age? This is exactly what happens in this book. Life is full of choices and what might of been. I am not too much of a fan of time travel books so this wasn't for me, but the book was well written! If you are a sci-fi fan this book is for you!

I’ve read most of this book in one night. The idea of “the butterfly effect” is not new to me, but this book brought it into focus in a new way. I enjoyed the twists and turns, and not knowing where each new bit was going to go. I can’t wait to order a copy of this book for my personal collection.

How many have thought if only I knew what I know now. We get to explore that premise here. It’s a fun and at times moving look as if only. It’s a chance to change or leave it as it is. It a chance to look inside and exhaust all you’ve learn as an adult. It’s a moment in time suspended for a time. Happy reading

This was a beautiful, but heartbreaking novel! I loved the complexity and it really makes you think what you would do in Maria’s situation.

Honestly, the ending did have me a bit confused, I had to read it a couple times to understand it, which is why I only gave 4 stars. However, I did really enjoy reading this book. The writing was beautiful and the story is easy to get locked into.

Overall I really recommend this book if you like time travel and what if situations. I really enjoyed the first half of this book before I slowly started to lose interest. I wanted to feel more connected to the characters.

This didn't download for me so I am giving it a 5 . Not sure what happened. Tried several times. Now it won't let me finish the review!

This book is described as "mind bending" and that is spot on.

Maria wakes up as herself at 17 with no idea how she went back in time. She is desperate to get back to her life and family in the future. 

This book is easy to get sucked into. I was very stressed as I read about Maria's struggles to get back to her family. This is a unique take on the "time travel" storyline. I was filled with questions as I read- even up to the last page. 

What I liked about this story was Maria and her relentless pursuit to find the truth. She is fighting against a world that doesn't believe she is from the future and she still doesn't stop- even when she ends up in the psych ward. 

As with all time travel books, there are some things that just get a little hazy. My mind just can't wrap around this concept enough for everything to fall into place. But you have to expect that with this type of storyline. I will admit the epilogue had me scratching my head a bit in confusion.

Over all this was an enjoyable yet heartbreaking story. I will read more by this author in the future.

Very interesting sci-fi genre book. I jumped into this book blind and ready to be swept away in the story, which is exactly what happened.

This book has you question 'what if?' The whole time you read it.

Very good read with an interesting concept. As a mother, parts were emotional and tough to imagine. But it makes the character and her decisions all the more impressive.

Wow! I cannot believe this was a debut novel!!! I requested this book based on the synopsis. Who doesn't wish sometimes that they could time travel? Maybe go back in time and change the course of your life somehow!? This was unputdownable, and I really enjoyed it! I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future!! This is definitely a book that you will continue thinking about days after you have finished reading it.

What would you do with a second chance in life? Would you do things differently? Would you save someone’s life if it meant it would change yours dramatically? That’s exactly what Maria has to decide in this really amazing read. Maria is a Mom, wife and Psychiatrist with a patient that comes in telling her some really powerful and “crazy” things, can she believe her and what will happen when she tries to put truth to these things?

I really enjoyed the dynamic of the story as well as the various character point of views. Great storyline and descriptions. I admit I was a little confused by the ending but, I think if I reread it, I’ll understand better. I’m giving this 4 stars! Y’all should check it out!

This book started out very interesting but I struggled with the last half of it. The premise was there, the idea was neat, unique to me. But the writing style wasn’t for me.

This title is practically yelling, "Book Club!!!" What a gut-wrenching roller coaster ride. I am afraid to say too much and spoil it, but it's most definitely a must read for those who enjoy thinking outside the box. A title I won't long forget.
