Muffet McGraw writes in her book about equality for women. Her message is women should network and help each other, not tear each other down. They should empower each other. Also by now, we should not be surprised when a women is put in power, whether it be a CEO to being the President of the United States. The book follows her career playing basketball to coaching. It shows how their is still inequality. I think this is a wonderful book for everyone. If you have a daughter, I think its a great read for them. Thank you to NetGalley and Ave Marie Press for the E-ARC. This is my own opinion.
Expect More by Muffet McGraw is an inspirational work which encourages women and girls to strive for the best sports--and life--have to offer. It is fascinating to get an insider's look at the Notre Dame women's basketball program. McGraw is quite candid in her assessments of sexism and other problems which prevent women from achieving everything they are capable of. The lessons McGraw has learned through coaching are clearly applicable to the workplace. Readers should be aware that McGraw embraces the Equal Rights Amendment which, unfortunately, can be detrimental to the cause of protecting preborn babies from legal harm. Perhaps this, though, can be a teachable moment--that some things that purport to advance the cause of women can actually be counter-productive.
