I have requested to read this book while it was still active. However, several weeks later, I have received an email that my request has been approved. Sadly, by that time, the title have been archived.
Therefore, I was unable to download and read it.
To begin with, I have to say that I felt that things happened too quickly, that is, many graphic novels have that problem, it does not go as deep as in a book.
It was a beautiful story, which undoubtedly the most redeeming was art and editing, I felt that the artist knew how to create compositions that helped to understand history, that were with a beautiful style, and that maintained that style and composition, it was a nice story.
The end of Yaya's quest, and not everything ends neat, or tidy, or satisfying, although a lot does. One character ending was quite frustrating, but there's no law of the universe that says evil must be punished. Still, though......
There are also enough uncertainties in Yaya's life that I felt a sense of foreboding as I ended the book. Maybe that's just the 2020 talking, but I do like how the author recognizes that life goes on and that there are no neat happily ever afters.
On the whole an exciting, touching, and satisfying journey.
This is the conclusion of the story of Yaya, according to the publisher, though there ware things left open for future stories.
If you read this volume without reading the previous eight, this story will be far too confusing. But if you read this one, you will see some conclusions to the story, with adventure, and bad guys and good guys, and good in the end.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book available for an honest review.
