Brilliant! Read in one sitting. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Love the characters, so much so that I have downloaded the part 2 and about to dive in. Really funny and light hearted. Great escapism
I really enjoyed he promise of summer. As soon as as I read the first line I knew I was going to like this book. It was dead easy to get into and I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. For me the story was not long enough and I wanted to read more so we definitely be getting the second book. Ruby is a florist and she glad to go to London for a really important appointment that could change her life but she sits in the wrong sit on the train and meets Curtis who is very handsome man and they ended up spending the day together not by choice though.
Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.
Bella Osborne books are a delight to read and when I'd finished part one I was chomping at the bit to read parts 2,3 and 4. I need to know what happens,
As always Bella delivers, I love it when you only get a short snapshot of the book, ingenious really as it leaves you wanting more. I will be purchasing the rest of the story as I cannot wait to see what happens for Ruby and Kim.
Easy read whether at the beach or lazing around on a Sunday.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to read by this book! I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the characters and their story. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Lovely start to the new series introducing the main characters and you are already drawn into the story and looking forward to the next instalment
The Promise of Summer Part One With This Ring by Bella Osborne was a great book. I read this book far too quickly and will be looking out for the further three parts as it’s promising to be a fab story. Another great book by Bella.
This is not a conventional or usual love story and so much of it is based on a chance encounter and the unexpected consequences of it. However, it is one of the most lovely romance books I have ever read.
The characters jump off the page, and I especially loved Ruby and Kat. Kat is feisty and fabulous. Ruby is fun-loving, lively and her energy just jumps off the page.
Bella’s humour within the book just falls into place beautifully and I couldn’t fault it. It never feels forced but it gives a book that deals with some serious themes a light-hearted touch.
There were so many twists and turns and this definitely kept me hooked. There was a particular bump in the road which I did not see coming!
For me, Bella has struck an excellent balance between providing the reader with a slow burn, unlikely romance whilst still managing to keep the reader fully engaged and invested.
This is a favourite from this genre for quite some time. It is full of laughs, friendship, mishaps and mischief, and if I could give it more than 5 stars I would!
This is my first Bella Osbourne book and it definitely won’t be the last.
This is Part 1 and follows Ruby’s journey to find love and continue on the next chapter of her life. Sub plot follows Kim to owns a florist and has an unexpected arrival
Can’t wait to read more in the future !
I love Bella Osborne's books and this is one of my favourites so far. I really loved it and enjoyed it. It's the perfect book to read at this time of the year and it would be a great holiday book as it is easy to read and it is fun. The story is about a lovely woman called Ruby who finds great friendship in a unique and special man called Curtis. Ruby works in a florist with her friend Kim and they have a fun friendship and enjoy helping each other. Ruby and Kim have had their problems with love and romance in the past. Will they find their happily every afters? Read the book to find out! I thoroughly enjoyed this fun and uplifting summertime book and I highly recommend it.
Many thanks to the author, publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I read all 4 parts together in the bind up so this is my review of the whole series
I have read quite a few of Bella’s books now and I am really becoming quite the fan. The Promise of Summer easily caught my attention from the very first chapter.
Ruby is our main character but her boat and friend Kim also has a very large part to play in this book and I would say she could be classed as more than a support character.
Ruby is quite sick of dating losers. I really liked Ruby. She has that sort of personality that makes her easy to be around and injects the fun into life.
Kim has really been through it in life and I so wanted things to work out for her. She deserves a bit of love and happiness.
Now I have to talk about Curtis. Oh, what a character he is. He is funny without releasing it sometimes and he has a good heart. He is a little socially awkward but when you get to know him he really comes out of his shell.
I flew through all 416 pages of this book in a very short time. It was very easy to read and very hard to put down. The characters are relatable, the writing is witty and emotional. It was a real treat to read and I can’t wait for more from Bella.
I was given the chance to read an excerpt as a reviewer for NetGalley. I am usually a fan of Bella Osborne, but this particular book was only 3 stars for me so far. It's possible that the book would get better, but so far it's not my favorite.
Ruby has had bad luck with men over the years, so she decides to take some of her future into her own hands. While on a train to London to meet up with her future (trying not to spoil why she's on the train), she meets Curtis. They end up trying to accomplish a task together in London, and we see how they are going to continue to work together in the future.
I just didn't connect with any of the characters except possibly Kim, Ruby's co-worker and owner of the flower shop where they both work, who has her own secret. We see glimpses of her day as the viewpoint switches from Ruby to Kim.
Ruby just seems unbelievably naive, and the plot at this point is not interesting to me. Too bad, because I generally love Bella Osborne's books!
As I have only read part of the book, I can't say if it gets better.
First, a warning, don't read this on public transport, especially a train, like me as you'll get some very funny looks when you inevitably start giggling to yourself. I read Part One in one sitting as it happened to be the perfect length for the train journey I was taking and I was gutted when I got to the end as I pulled into the station. Ruby's story so far is quite sad, but her encounter with Curtis seems to be about to change all that. Kim on the other hand is very intriguing and seems to have some secrets hidden behind that respectable facade. I can't wait to find to out what they are as the story evolves. Very much looking forward to Part 2.
This is the second book I've read by Bella Osbourne and all I can say is, wow, what a fantastic start to a book! It had me hooked from the very first page, not to mention laughing.
The characters seem to be really well written and there is more than meets the eye in regards to Kim and Adrian. Who is Lewis? Is he just a forgetful person or is he a thief? I'm itching to find out. Is Curtis 'the one' for Ruby? I cannot wait to read the book in full.
Once again, Bella Osborne has started a book that pulled me in immediately. Suffering from a bit of a 'meh' reading slump, I was instantly transported to Ruby's funny, chaotic and surprising world. This is not the first book from Osborne I have read and I cannot wait to see what happens next to the protagonist. Already there have been new relationships developing, happy adventures but also an under-current of sadness and tragedy. With a perfect mix, I think Osborne has created another 'bang on' read and I can't wait to find out what happens next.
Y’all my heart ❤️ #thepromiseofsummer #bellaosborne #avonbooksuk #netgalley what a delightful start to a series. I will be getting the next one. It was such a quick delicious read I was so miffed when it ended 😂🙈 in the best possible way. The good news is that there is indeed a #booktwo I am eagerly awaiting to see if they were able to indeed return the ring. And. If perhaps love may blossom between two unlikely strangers who met purely by accident #netgalleyreview #bookstagram #readersofinstagram #bookrecommendations #summerlove #beachread #booklover
review sent i have now read all of the book and it was brill such a good storyline and a must to read now waiting for the next one
A good teaser that made me wish to read the rest of the book.
Can't wait to read it
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Ruby heads to Lindon on a mission to make a baby.
The train ride in turns out to be a disaster when her phone is lost when she lent it to Lewis to make a call. Lewis told his story and show a ring, that he is going to propose to his girlfriend with, but he gets separated with Ruby’s phone.
Curtis steps in to help.
A busy day for both Curtis and Ruby.
Ending was sudden and hope the next instalment comes out quas I really would like to continue with the characters.
Another great Bella story.
I loved the first part of this four part series, I can’t wait to read what is in store for Ruby in the next instalment.
