'Feel Better in 5' by Dr Rangan Chatterjee is such an incredible book. It is really, really accessible and understandable. Dr Rangan Chatterjee inspires us to implement a range of '5 minute' activities into our daily life from 5 minute exercises to yoga moves and breathing exercises. The idea being that we can begin to build a range of 5-minute-activities to have in our toolbox which we can implement regularly to our daily lives to increase a sense of being well.

I'm sure each one of us has somewhere decided to eat healthily, exercise regularly and sleep adequately. But more often than not, these resolutions don't really get fulfilled. The most common reason for which is Inadequate Time availability. Here's when Feel Better in 5 comes into the picture to help us. With the 5-minute health snack concept, Dr Rangan Chatterjee helps us achieve the desired results with the least worry. The author has given a bunch of different sets of activities which can be done in 5 minutes each but leave us in a better position with respect to both, Our Minds and Body.
Along with the book, different excerpts from Dr Chatterjee's podcast have been added to the Audiobook, making it even more convincing and interesting.
The only issue was that, along with having great information about the health snacks, it was peppered with information about his podcast and website throughout, hampering the overall reading/listening experience.

I’m a fan of the author’s social media presence so I was pleased to be given an audio version from Netgalley in exchange for my review.
The author narrates the book himself and I enjoyed his narration.
The ideas presented to introduce small healthy habits into your daily routine are great. Chatterjee calls them ‘health snacks‘, but they aren’t necessarily edible ;)
I think there’s something for everyone in his book, what he suggests for body, mind and brain only takes minutes and can be slotted easily into your day.
There are links to his website and podcast episodes for those who’d like more.
I’m sure this book will be as popular as his previous offerings.
I’m looking forward to buying a paper copy, which will be useful for quick reference for implementing the ‘snacks’ more easily, though the audio version does come with pdfs.
Currently unable to share to Goodreads but will investigate and share as soon as it’s possible.

Narrated by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee
Publisher: RB Media, Gildan Media
Genre: Health, Mind & Body
Release Date: December 15, 2020

Feel Better in 5 by Dr. Rangan Chatterjee is about how 5 minutes (used well) can improve your overall wellbeing.

The book is broken into three parts: Mind, Body, and Heart. Dr. Chatterjee provides suggested exercises, or 'health snacks', for each of the three topics and he suggests you do one exercise from each topic for 5 minutes each day, 5 days a week. I can do anything for 5 minutes, so I will definitely be giving this a try.

The book is narrated by Dr. Chatterjee and is enjoyable to listen to. Dr. Chatterjee speaks with a soothing voice with a great pace. His narration feels like a discussion with a friend over a cup of coffee.

Overall, I really enjoyed this audiobook. I will be picking up a copy of the physical book so I can do a deeper dive into the content! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for improve their wellbeing 5 minutes at a time!

I'm so grateful to Dr. Rangan Chatterjee, RB Media, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

Feel Better in 5 is Dr. Chatterjee's most recent book and it is about how to do his program that centers on his 5 minutes daily health snacks. He breaks these activities into 3 categories; mind, body, & heart. His program is all about linking a health snack from each category to your daily activities. They are designed to get you to move, de-stress, and self-love.

I like the concept and there has been more research about how doing short activities can be just as beneficial if not more beneficial for us. However I listed to this book and do not recommend it. As a narrator Dr. Chatterjee is great and has a voice that you enjoy but the book reads like a how to book with lists and instructions. These are not things that are great for an audiobook because you need the visuals and the ability to reference back to the lists. If you are interested in this program definitely grab the physical book for this one.

I first read this book at the beginning of 2020, keen to make some mental and physical health changes in the New Year. Dr Chatterjee divides the book up into 3 parts - Mind, Body and Heart. He then suggests you choose one exercise from each of these topics to do for 5 minutes a day. It could be journaling in the morning, 5 minutes of yoga poses or 5 minutes of a hobby you really enjoy. These 5 minute exercises are what he calls 'health snacks.' What I love about Dr Chatterjee's approach in his books and podcast is that he looks at the fuller picture and why someone might be unhappy for example. I love how he includes case studies in this book, stories that many people would be able to relate to.

I revisited this book recently in audiobook form (thanks to Netgalley for providing a copy) and it has been great to listen to the health snack suggestions once again. The audiobook version includes clips from his podcast series which brings everything to life. It's a little trickier to navigate the exercises on audiobook but downloads are provided. All in all if you feel like 2020 has been tough and you want to improve your mental and physical health, this is a great book to pick and read. The exercises are simple but I have found the ones I have chosen, really beneficial to my mental and physical health.

Can 5 minutes 3x a day change your overall health for the better? Within an hour of listening to this book I was convinced it really can. As Dr. Chatterjee states (quite more eloquently than I) why do we doubt we can do a positive change in that little of time? We wouldn’t doubt that doing 15 minutes of bad things for us would make a change. I immediately went and ordered a physically copy for me and my best friend. Dr. Chatterjee suggests 5 minutes 3x a day 5x a week to improve your overall well being. 1- mind 2- body 3- heart. Each section he gives different options for things you can try. Before finishing the book I already adopted one that has really helped me relax. Immediately upon waking before even getting out of bed, I was reaching for my phone. Anxious to see what I had missed. Now I give myself 5 minutes to wake and stretch before even looking at my phone. Well what started as 5 minutes has now expanded to 30 to an hour. I didn’t realize how much I was setting the tone of my day to be stressed with that one thing! Dr. Chatterjee is not pushy or preachy. He’s extremely encouraging and genuinely seems to want the best for people. I can’t recommend this book enough.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review on NetGalley.

Feel Better in 5 is a great quick listen for anyone wanting to improve their life without much sacrifice. The author promises that in only five minutes a day, you can begin making lasting changes in your life even if you're a total procrastinator.

I actually loved the simplicity of this program. For exercise to nutrition, living healthy can be very easy and we really don't need elaborate techniques or expensive programs of any kind. I definitely tend to make excuses such as "I don't have time" and "I can't be asked," so this book totally defies all of them.

I do think that this book is great for people who are relative beginners in the #health game, although people who already work out and have good habits could always benefit by learning how to stack even more good habits onto their existing ones!

*Thank you to the Publisher for a free advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

This was full of good, simple ideas and reminders. I wouldn't say that there were any earthshattering nuggets in it (it mostly seemed like things I have already heard), BUT it was presented in a comprehensive way that made me really thoughtfully think about what will be best for me. I appreciated the parts about habit stacking and the best ways to make habits stick. Really liked this one in audio form.

Honestly most self help books give the same information over and over again and are not surprising or helpful. This book gave the same information and wasn’t surprising to me. It did take a different approach where it had many companion exercises and resources it pointed you toward on websites and also mini snip its of podcasts to listen to. I personally found the podcasts a little distracting. Maybe it was just me. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
