Conscripted to MASH unit staffed by paranormals, mortal Dr Petra secret comes to attention of a dying demigod when she saves him and now he is sure she is key to the prophecy to end the war between the Old gods and the New gods. There's some fun stuff in the background of this - pranks and wacky fellow staffers - that invokes the feel of the old MasH TV show. I thought this was entertaining even as Petra tries to fight her fate. I was really excited to get this ARC, I have always wanted to read this series and now author Fox is apparently reworking and re-releasing the three book series with slightly different titles. I am looking forward to the next.

Premise is promising, not much depth in the first book. Characters have great potential. Hopefully the storyline gets more involved in the second book.

Petra is a doctor for the demigods. Petra and her rag tag team of medical staff are stranded caring for the demigods. There is a war raging and the demigods and new gods are fighting the original gods for power over balance over the world. Petra is just trying to get by and serve her time when in walks danger on two legs- a demigod who may serve her up on a platter. Galen, the demigod, threatens to not only upheave her life and the camp but invokes her to save the world. Little does he know, she’s already tried and there were consequences.

I loved this ARC! It was original and clever! I would rate this a 5 out of 5 and definitely recommend it to others! I would love to follow Petra and Galen’s journey as they maneuver the god’s war.

The Monster MASH is an excellent beginning to the Monster MASH series by Angie Fox. I am always on the lookout for a new paranormal series and I totally have hit the jackpot lately. The book is fun, funny, and engaging. I seriously had a hard time putting it down.

Dr. Petra Robichaud has been drafted into the immortal war to be a human trauma surgeon for the new gods' side. She has a secret and forbidden gift (because, prophecies and godly spite and all that) that he struggles with daily to hide. Then one day, a demigod shows up on her table with a mortal wound and she makes a rash resurrection-type decision. She grabs his spirit and physically shoves it back into his body. Now her rash decision has sparked the beginning of a prophecy AND the alluring demigod, Commander Galen of Delphi, knows her secret. It all seems too surreal to be true. Could she finally be the beginning of the end for this immortal war? Can she survive all that's expected of her?

From what I can glean, this series "Monster MASH" was originally published as Immortally Yours in 2012. It looks like the author has edited and updated the series to be closer to her original vision rather than the prior publisher's wants/insights/changes. Well, good for her! I absolutely am ecstatic I've started it.

The Moster MASH is seriously entertaining. The MASH camp has a prank war going on. The secondary characters are fun and unique- not too often do you get a sphinx character. Petra's roommates are hilarious with the uber-serious and dramatic vampire and the highly emotional werewolf with his swamp creatures. Did I mention I loved the sphinx? 'Cuz, I really do. The whole story was well written and engaging. I loved the Paranormal News Network segments too. Flippin hilarious. Petra and Galen were a steamy match with tons of chemistry. But nothing other than a kiss happened (*grumble, grumble, grumble*), so safety-patrol can rest easy.

I am absolutely on board with the next book in the series Transylvania Twist (or Immortally Embraced in the original series) and I can't wait to start it. Seriously, if you love funny paranormal books with a bit of spice, look no further.

The Monster MASH: A dead funny romantic comedy is book one in the Trilogy and is a stand-alone.
Allow me to introduce you to Dr. Petra Robichaud, recruited as surgeon in the immortal war of the gods with no chance of being discharged.
She own an ability she keeps close to her, nobody can know about it. That is about to change when Galen of Delphi, a wozunded warrior shows up.
The book has a bit of everything, a bit of slapstick, a bit of drama, a bit of rom/com and sometimes I was a bit lost.
All in all an very entertaining read, 4,5 stars.

I enjoyed this story a lot. I have a couple criticisms. I’ve never been a big fan of lead females complaining things aren’t happening to them, they can’t do it, why me, etc. She needed to put her big girl panties on more than once in this story. Also can we get a little more graphic detail in the romance department? I think the main characters kissed only once or twice until the very end of the book which they suddenly were in love. Still no action by the end, which surprised me due to how much she lasted after him at the beginning. But besides that I liked the characters and story and read nonstop til I finished. She was witty and interesting, and I enjoyed all the other characters too.

I did NOT know this was effectively a re-write of an early novel, which kind of irritated me at first. But I love Angie Fox and she did it justice. Just a great, fast, fun Urban Fantasy read. Need some feel good? This will fill that need!

Fun read with great characters and hilarious situations.
This is the first book I have read from this series and got a bit lost with the storyline.

Petra Robichaud is a surgeon drafted for a MASH stint in a never-ending paranormal war – and she’s got a big secret. When injured Commander Galen of Delphi lands on her table it may just be the first step toward ending the war for good, but she’s been burned before. She doesn’t want anything to do with the ancient prophecy Galen is convinced she’s part of, but fate may have other plans, and as much as she doesn’t want to get involved with the handsome demigod, Petra is developing some very inconvenient feelings for the man…

The Monster Mash is a must-read for fans of paranormal romance and romantic comedy – and for fans of M*A*S*H, of course! From beginning to end it’s a wickedly romantic laugh-out-loud romp. The characters are all fabulous, and the romance is emotionally stirring, but it’s Fox’s sense of humor that truly shines in this engrossing story. Petra’s narration of her life in the MASH camp just pulls you in, and around every corner is a new hilarious detail to give an extra bit of lift to the more tense external plot of dire prophecy and never-ending war. No matter that serious things are going down—including some serious romance between Petra and Galen—The Monster Mash is sheer fun from beginning to end. This is one of those books that I had to tear myself away from to get things done.

Now, readers should be aware that this is a reprint version of The Monster Mash, and Fox’s note in the book indicates that this is how she always wanted the book to be. I didn’t read the first version, so I cannot compare the two, but I can without any hesitation whatever recommend this light, full-of-heart rom com to any reader looking for a read that’s a little off the beaten path in the best possible way.

The author Angie Fox takes the TV show MASH turns into a Supernatural War. The monster mash is full of crazy characters that readers will enjoy as they get to know the main character Petra whom is likeable and readers will connect with her and her crazy new life.

The cast of characters are everything and anything from the supernatural world from werewolves to demigods to Vampire's.

This story will have readers wanting more and excited for the next series in The Monster Mash. Readers who watched the TV show Mash will fall in love with The monster mash by Angie Fox.

I was really excited that I got this copy through NetGalley in exchange for a review, since I long have been a Fan of Angie Fox was I was looking forward to start a new Series. I liked the storyline and there was plenty of action, humor and the begging of a steamy romance. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Now apparently the Author had the series released previously and I am not sure if there has been some changes in the new release but from the snippets I read it appears to be the same. Either way it was interesting and a new twist on the paranormal genre.

Thank you to NetGalley and Moose Island Books for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Simply a fun read. I really enjoyed the world Fox created in this book and the main character had the right balance of snark and sincere. I read it in a day because I 1) wanted to know how it all played out and 2) it was just that easy to keep on reading it. A good pick if you like the more urban fantasy feel, some comedy, and an entertaining cast of characters who deal with difficult things but don’t let it destroy their spark.

A fun and enjoyable read with a different take on the urban fantasy genre. Loved all the different characters especially the demigod Galen. Some parts felt a little rushed to me(especially around the end) but I'm glad to hear it's a part of a series so I'm really looking forward for the next book!

Dr. Petra Robichaud is stuck in the middle of an immortal war. Drafted in as a MASH surgeon and unable to return to earth, she spends her days sewing fighters back together until she accidently brings Commander Galen of Delphi back to life while operating on him. A talent that should he tell anyone about could get her killed.

Galen's convinced Petra's ability will fulfill a prophesy that will end the war and won't leave her alone until she helps him end the war.

This novel is a mash of crazy characters with supernatural abilities and wacky senses of humor. It really is a monster mash.

This book was fabulous! I could not put it down. The premise behind the story was sort of a supernatural MASH - a field unit of doctors taking care of the 'new gods' when they were injured in their ongoing war with the 'old gods." Little do they know the secrets that Petra is keeping on top of oracle prophesies coming true. And I love the pet swamp lizards LOL. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the future books to come out so I can see what happens next!

I originally read this book as Immortally Yours, before it was re-written so I was very interested in seeing how the storyline changed. I'll be honest, i didn't pick up any discernable differences. I liked the original book so I definitely enjoyed reading it again but I still feel that it's urban fiction and not a romantic comedy. The scene with Colonel Spiros was just as gruesome as in the original book and really hammered the point across that this is a war story.
Half fairy doctor Petra Robichaud has been drafted into a supernatural army and assigned to a MASH unit to treat human and supernatural soldiers in the New Army in the war of the Gods. After she saves the life of a demigod Galen of Delphi by puling an ancient bronze dagger from his chest and pushes his soul back into his body he convinces her that she's part of the prophecy and is the only person able to stop the war and prevent countless casualties. We're seeing Petra navigate her attraction to Galen while trying to fight the reality that she's the chosen one. She's a bit immature at times and kind of childish in her behavior which doesn't work with her being in her 40s. Overall this is a fun read if you don't really expect a romantic comedy and read it with an open mind.

I love the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries by Angie Fox so when I saw she had a new book coming out I had to take a look. When I read the blurb and it mentioned one of my most favourite comedies ever I was hooked.

There is a war being waged in Hell between two separate factions of Gods and paranormals are being press ganged into choosing a side and fighting to the death. Their length of service is basically the rest of their natural lives or until the end of the war, whichever comes first. Given that the Gods are immortal and seem to have the same regard for their troops as they would the pawns in a game of chess, chances are a quick death is the best they can hope for. The humour in this book definitely veers towards the dark side and there is a love element which is the slow burn variety – with a secret that could get her killed Petra is in no hurry to trust anyone especially a handsome Demi-god. Throw in ancient prophecies coming true and life is looking very precarious indeed for the medic.

After reading I can’t help but feeling slightly disappointed by this book though and that is nothing to do with the writing or the plot line. I think I was unfairly comparing each character to those of the TV series. Is Petra Robichaud a female Hawkeye Pierce? This was in no way the author’s fault but I think if she hadn’t mentioned M.A.S.H. in the blurb I might have read this book with a more open mind and enjoyed it a lot more. As it is I give 3.5 stars.

A most awesome read! I have read this author’s other books so when I saw this book,I took the opportunity to read this book. The storyline was great. I was not sure how things would develop and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this storyline. Petra is a really cool human. She has few friends but she discovers when she opened her heart that there were people there for her. As she begins to realize how important she is to the war, she begins to gain more confidence. I can surmise that the following books in the series will be just as awesome as the other books.

The Monster MASH: A dead funny romantic comedy by Angie Fox
Publisher: Author Collective 20, Moose Island Books
Genre: Mystery & Thrillers | Romance | Sci Fi & Fantasy
Release Date: December 29, 2020

The Monster MASH is the first book in The Monster MASH Trilogy by Angie Fox and I can't wait for the next book to come out!

The Monster MASH is filled with all the paranormal goodness you could hope for: Vampires, Werewolves, Demigods, actual Gods, other supernatural, and a surgeon who sees spirits!

I absolutely loved this book. Set in a battlefield MASH unit, the book tells the story of Petra, who was 'recruited' to serve as a trauma surgeon during the never-ending war of the Gods (the Old and the New). The characters are so relatable and engaging. The storyline is filled with humor and suspense and a lot of heart. This book has a great pace and I couldn't put it down. I refused to go to bed before I knew how it ended.

I look forward to the next books in the series! I can't wait for the next one to release in January 2021!

I'm so grateful to Angie Fox, Author Collective 20, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
