A short, striking, exceptional work that opens a window onto another world. Infused with grief, tragedy and a history of horrific suffering, this is a classic that demands further exploration and consideration by the reader. Louse Erdrich’s introduction lends enlightenment.
This is a wonderful edition of the brilliant classic novel Winter in the Blood, the first novel by James Welch, a major writer of the Native American renaissance. The brown cover is beautiful and very fitting. There is an introduction from author Louise Erdrich and a foreword from the 23rd Poet Laureate of the United States Joy Harjo. I dare you not to be affected by this novel. Highly recommended to those familiar with the novel and those looking to read more from Native American authors.
