I was excited to read this book and thought I could learn a thing or two, however it is not for visual learners. Each piece is explained in detail, however there are no photos to accompany each step. Hopefully the final book contains step by step photos.
I’m fairly new to sewing. I liked the step by step guidance on several projects. I hope to start on some masks for the family!
I'm a beginner. I've actually been a beginner for years, because I don't bring out my sewing machine often, and I get frustrated at projects since I'm still learning.
This book was awesome. Like a recipe book for seamstresses, with detailed instructions, the materials and tools, tips and techniques. Easy enough projects to make in less than a day, and very important projects in this day and age.
It gives you a time frame (half hour projects!), and starts with a few lessons for beginners to really understand the process.
Next time I decide on a project that usually frustrates me, I'll reach for this book first. Definitely a keeper.
In this pandemic situation where face mask is important, I think sewing skill is also important to have. I've been avoiding fast-fashion industry. I don't buy new clothes that I know aren't suistable. One of my goals is to be able to sew. This book makes me want to learn how to sew. It has detailed patterns I guess it's easy to follow (based on the instructions and the pictures)
I think if you are newbie, you will like this book.
I absolutely love to sew, and I also happen to work within the medical field, so this book gave me the best of my two loves! The instructions were clear and concise, but they also included tips and tricks to help the viewer along. Sewing is tricking and it’s a skill that requires practice, but this book is great for anyone, from the beginners to the experts.
Angie Herbertson brings together an amazing book for sewing enthusiasts and beginners alike who long to sew something productive during a global pandemic.
