Oh my God! How is this a debut novel? How has this author not written more since?? This book is amazing! So tense I was on the edge of my seat. I knew Alex was hiding something but never figured out what or why he did what he did. I am shocked by the revelations that came out about Vivian. It's hard to say more without ruining this. It's a heart in the mouth kind of book that will leave you wanting more by this author. Highly recommended!

The writing in this book is so good.
This is very much a character study rather than a plot driven novel
It’s a slow burn. I guessed the main twist early on

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

Dark, disturbing and brilliant!
Navigating a mother / daughter relationship with plenty of hidden secrets I really enjoyed this read.

This was a riveting read. You are kept wondering what the daughter's secret is, and what her new boyfriend's real agenda is. Entertaining read that takes you places you didn't imagine going.

I expected to love this book from the blurb but unfortunately I found it to just be an ok read as I thought the plot was quite slow paced and I found myself being bored in places

Had been looking forward to reading this book. Sadly it wasn’t for me. It just lacked a good plot to get you excited and wanting more. It was very slow paced and never picked up

this was a wonderful psychological thriller, the characters were great and I loved that it tackled hard issues and that the characters were real people.

This was a very average thriller for me with a premise I’ve seen done a few times before. I did enjoy the writing and the fast pacing so I will still check out for this author.

This was such an engaging, tense mother-daughter thriller. The writing is brilliant and the ending is definitely unexpected!

The subject matter of this book is difficult for some - self harm, trauma domestic violence.

A gripping psychological thriller, Vivian is 15 and we learn to love her. Her character is so complex and well portrayed, and she grows throughout the book in ways we don't expect! Her mother Rachel appears to be blind to everything that is going on around her, and I really wanted to shake her to wake her up! Mind your daughter!

You will be gripped to the very end!

This book was sent to me as an ARC on NetGalley. However, all opinions are of my own.
This book was messed up. I rated it a 3 stars because I really couldn't fathom what was happening in this story until the ending. Although when you get to the end you understand why it was so physiological. There was many twists and turns which kept you guessing until the end. I loved the aspect of an unstable main protagonist but I also felt really sorry for her as a person because you could see she was trying her hardest to better herself for her daughter.

With thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a digital arc of this book, all opinions expressed here are my own.

All The Little Things by Sarah Lawton is the author’s first novel and it does not disappoint! I look forward to reading more of their work in the future.

This story puts into question the very essence of nature vs nurture. With a twisted storyline, unlikable characters, and a toxic mother-daughter relationship, this was like a train wreck I just couldn’t look away from. An easy read and completely fascinating.

An enjoyable four star read.

Rachel has made poor decisions in the past, but she has always tried her best for her daughter. When Vivian needed a fresh start, Rachel didn’t hesitate to move them far from London. She just wishes she could shake the nagging doubt that Vivian is hiding something.

Vivian isn’t like other teenagers. On the surface she seems the same as her friends, but she knows she is different. When enigmatic Alex takes an interest in her, Vivian’s cool demeanor hides an intensity of feeling she has never known before.

Mother and daughter are both keeping secrets. But just how dangerous are they? As lust and anger give way to violence Rachel will have to decide: is she prepared to give up everything for her child? Even her own life?

Uff! What a toxic relationship!! This is at another level.

It’s very well written plot. The chapters alternate between Vivian and Rachel’s points of view, giving us an insight of their relationship as well as their past and present.

Initially what starts off as a normal teenage rebellion, soon escalates into something more disturbing and creepy. It doesn’t take much to figure out that Vivian is very manipulative and takes advantage of Rachel’s rather carefree attitude towards parenting.

The entry and inclusion of Alex into the plot is what takes this plot a step higher. Each of characters including the secondary ones are so complex and manipulative in their own way. There is an air of tension maintained throughout the book, which is very intriguing and keeps you engrossed till the end.

While it was easy to figure out the reveal quite early into the plot, the ending was still unexpected and dramatic.

Overall, a fantastic debut novel and I’ll be definitely looking forward for more from this author!

Thank You NetGalley and Canelo for this ARC!

This dark and gripping thriller holds the reader right until the final pages. Fans of 'The Push' by Ashley Audrain should enjoy the slowly escalating tension that gradually creeps in, making the reader question earlier assumptions about the relationship between Rachel, the survivor of an abusive marriage, and her daughter, Vivian. What appears at first as an awkward mother/teen relationship turns out to be so much more toxic. The story is cleverly told from both points of view and the author captures the voice of the struggling mom and the angsty teen with great authenticity. A dark read with a chilling climax, but very well executed.

My overall feeling about this book was that it plodded along too slowly for me. While I kept reading, it was way too long in to the book before I felt really engaged. And even then, none of the characters ever felt fully developed. I think this was a result of an attempt to build suspense. We were given small pieces of information at a time, never a clear picture of what was going on. But I never got to the point of tension in the storyline. None of the big reveals felt overly surprising. However, I did like the premise of the story and expect that I will better enjoy future offerings from this author.

All The Little Things by Sarah Lawton is her debut psychological thriller. The synopsis and the cover were enough to draw me into this book alone. I am really happy I accepted Emma's offer of a place on the tour. This is one chilling book!
The story is told from three points of view, Rachel the mother, Vivian her daughter and then we have a perspective from the past, told mainly from Rachel's mother in London.
We meet Rachel and Vivian, a mother and daughter that have a complex relationship. Rachel is a talented artist and does struggle with Vivian, the child that was born from an abusive relationship. Rachel finds it hard to bond with her daughter and seems to treat her more like a possession instead of a child. The past behaviour of Vivian still affects Rachel but everything would have stayed the same until Alex arrives. He wants private lessons from Rachel and starts to attend the same school as Vivian and her friends. Everyone, especially Vivians best friend Molly wants him, but Alex decides to zoom in on Vivian, causing trouble between the girls.
Things begin to happen that has Rachel looking back to the events of the past and has her questioning everything including how her own mother died.
This is one heck of a ride! A definitely creepy and immersive book. I just couldn't stop reading this, Rachel and Vivian's thoughts and feelings are so real that they kept me turning them pages. As the ending raced closer I could feel myself getting more tense and just absolutely burning a hole in my Kindle and the ending does make you think!.The fact that this is a debut book is amazing. I definitely can recommend this book if you enjoy a tense, creepy and very atmospheric read.
Thanks to Damp Pebbles Blog Tours,NetGalley and Canelo for my copy of the book for today
