This was a fun breezy Hallmark book that gave me all the blacksmith feels.
I liked this was a second chance romance where both characters thought their childhood romance didn't last because the other never wrote back.
I liked the town rallying around the Harmony Ranch to help get that loan paid off.
I loved the grandmas especially.
<spoiler>I really liked that the happily ever after had a realistic outcome in that the big city heroine didn't have to give up everything to live in the small town. Hooray for remote working. Though they are going to have to boost up the wifi at the Ranch now!</spoiler>
I'd love to read another book set at Harmony Ranch with the grandmas playing match maker.

Jocelyn is heading back to Harmony Creek and back in time, literally. Her grandmothers ranch is a living museum where volunteers show people what it was like to live in the early 1900s. Jocelyn needs to help her grandmother ranch become solvent but she also needs to avoid complications like blacksmith Mack. But practical was never very fun!
I enjoyed reading this, like all of hallmark it’s like putting on a warm cozy sweater. I know things will go as I hope for them to and I’m always delighted by the consistency. I would love to see this become a #hallmarkchannelmovie so we can see the past come to life!

Jocelyn has more childhood memories wrapped up in her grandmother’s historic ranch in the little town of Harmony Creek and most are happy. But during her senior year of high school, her mother moved them to the east coast, determined that Jocelyn would have more opportunities than she did as a child. Leaving everything (and everyone) behind was wrenching, and while she found a career and a place she enjoyed, there never seemed to be enough time (or will) to return to the ranch.
But with her grandmother injured in a car accident, she’s been asked to come back and help – despite her all-out efforts to obtain a promotion and deadlines looming. Arriving on the ranch, Jocelyn runs into her former love, Mack, now the caretaker of the ranch and a blacksmith in his own right. The historic feel, the tours and ties to the past, and her connection to Mack despite all the hurt and silence after she moved, despite the promises, still niggles. But there’s little time to focus on her own issues; the ranch is in serious financial trouble, the spring festival is looming, and all hands are needed on deck to get it done.
Jocelyn and Mack really needed to simply sit down and say everything they never said – stop assuming and keeping themselves quiet as the attraction that never faded for either of them spins them in circles and questions of what if. With plenty of help from locals, a serious spark between Mack and Jocelyn and plenty of ‘what do you really want to focus on’ moments from Jocelyn as she’s torn between the dream she thought she wanted, and the realities in front of her – the story is a surprisingly nuanced read with plenty of smiles, memories and love to go around.

An easy read when you want to feel good
USA Today best-selling author Jennie Marts presents "Rescuing Harmony Ranch. A feel-good romance from Hallmark Publishing". Jocelyn Stone is going back to Harmony Ranch which is located in Harmony Creek Colorado. Her trip is not about Mack Talbot whom she knows from long time ago, and it is not about going down the memory lane that would include him. It is leaving the past behind and helping her grandmother with the living history museum and ranch, a grandmother for whom she would do anything. But in spite of her best plans she cannot avoid Mack, meeting him directly at her arrival. Will they be able to solve the issues of their past or what will Jocelyn's future bring?
This was the first book by Jennie Marts which I read. I really liked the book for the great and believable main and secondary characters and the good story line. It is a clean romance and a relaxing read that I recommend for lovers of such books and for readers of novels which are published by Hallmark Publishing. As a special treat this novel includes the recipe for Turkey Sliders with Mac and Cheese, another of the special Hallmark recipes.
The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

What an enjoyable story by Jennie Marts! It's a heartwarming second chance romance that grabs you from the very beginning. Following Jocelyn and Mack reconnecting has it's ups and downs and you can't help but cheer them on for a happy ending.
I really enjoyed reading this story. Just enough laughter, family love, friendships and romance. A fun read with lovable characters and a happy ending. The grannies and pups had me smiling even after finishing the book.
Harmony Ranch sounds like a great place to visit so grab the book and enjoy!,
Such a sweet story of love being rekindled! A clean read and yet the tension is definitely there! You will enjoy the bantering as well as the ending!
'Rescuing Harmony Ranch' is an engaging romance that transports the reader to Colorado and the efforts to save a ranch that is a Living Museum. Jocelyn's Gram entreats her to come home from New York as she is injured from a car accident and needs help to save her home from a looming balloon payment. There Jocelyn reconnects with her childhood sweetheart Mack. Through a series of miscommunications caused by the devious intentions of a family member these two that belong together have been kept apart. This is a deeply layered and heartfelt story that is just delightful. I highly recommend it!

I absolutely adored this second chance romance.
Mack and Jocelyn were childhood sweethearts who let hard feelings and miscommunication lead to years apart. When Jocelyn's grandma is involved in a car accident and breaks her leg, Jocelyn drops everything to come home to Harmony Ranch to help her. The first person she literally bumps into is Mack who is now the resident blacksmith.
When Mack & Jocelyn go to the hospital to check on grandma she blindsides them with a dilemma....Harmony Ranch has a balloon payment due in 2 weeks and the annual festival is coming up quickly. Jocelyn & Mack work together tirelessly to make sure the annual festival is the biggest and best for Harmony Ranch and while doing so we get to learn about them and their lives growing up.
I won't spoil the ending because I just loved the twists that Ms. Marts added that gave this book that extra bit of "awwww!!" for me.
As always, the secondary characters including the scenery are just as beautifully fleshed out as the main characters so you can "see" them. I am lucky enough to have visited the real life Harmony Ranch....the Rock Ledge Historical Site a couple of times growing up, so I had those fond memories to go along with the story.
I received an ARC of this book, but all opinions of this book are mine and mine alone.
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This one about Jocelyn coming back to the ranch she grew up on to help her grandmother. Mack and Jocelyn were close before she moved away and he has now taken part in handling the ranch they both love. Love the small town story where everyone is there to help when needed.
A beautiful romance, Rescuing Harmony Ranch was a great read. A second chance romance, Jocelyn and Mack are engaging characters and the heartfelt story line made this a wonderfully enjoyable read. I will read more by this author and recommend to others.
A sweet second chance romance , where Jocelyn learns "My Heart is Your Home". Mack and Jocelyn were high school sweethearts until she moved to New York City with her mom now ten years later she is back to Harmony Ranch to help her grandma after being in an auto accident. Mack has never left the ranch, he tried to move on with his life but his heart always belonged to Jocelyn. They work together to help save her grandma's ranch and soon the chemistry sparks life back in their relationship. But now Jocelyn needs to figure what how to listen to her heart.
This is a sweet story full of romance, laughter, family and dogs. How a community comes together to help one of their own. Loved Savage, the basset hound. I must admit I did shed a few tears at the end, of course happy tears!! A lesson well learned, "Our roots are important". I highly recommend this book.
Another amazing Hallmark Romance!!
The story of the historial ranch with a Mountain view had me transfix to the story. I could see the location clearly in my mind as I was reading the story.
The "savage" dog also added soo much to the ranch setting and the love story of Mack and Jocelyn.
This second - chance romance was amazing scene to fall in love with. Fairy lights and slow-dance worthy music. And lots of romantic date idees - Big Box Lunches..
Thank you Jennie Marts for transporting met to this ranch, and reminding me love is a worthy cause to give up everything. Hope to see this story come to life on the "big-screen".

Rescuing Harmony Ranch by Jennie Marts is a standalone romance and I loved it!!!
We meet Jocelyn, who returns home to Colorado after spending ten years in New York, to help her grandmother who was in a car accident. Returning home brings up a lot of unresolved feelings and heartache for Jocelyn and Mack, her childhood sweetheart.
I really enjoyed this storyline and the romance. The characters were wonderful. The story was heartwarming and wonderful.
This was a quick read that I could not put down! I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a sweet romance!
I'm so grateful to Jennie Marts, Hallmark Publishing, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
Such a sweet, heartfelt story about friendship, love, reconnecting, and grandmas. Harmony Ranch is a historically accurate working ranch circa 1900. Jocelyn's grandma owns and runs the ranch and puts on a festival every year to help defray the cost of running the ranch. This year her grandma has a badly broken leg and other injuries, and she needs help with the festival. Jocelyn takes a couple of weeks to help out and runs into Mack, her first love and current blacksmith and caretaker at the ranch. Their teasing, joking and trying to outdo each other made me smile, as did Mack's dog Savage. I really enjoyed this story, and I look forward to reading more by Jennie Marts!
Jennie Marts' latest book is a delightful romance that's literally 'down on the farm'. Jocelyn has come home from the Big City to help her grandmother with the annual festival at their Living History Ranch. She didn't plan on running into Mack, her old love, who is now the caretaker and resident blacksmith. She didn't plan on old feelings stirring back up between them and she definitely didn't plan on his droopy, drooly and lovable dog, Savage, falling in love with her, either.
There are bound to be more sparks in this story than those churned up in a blacksmith's fire, and there's definitely plenty of heat. Pick it up and enjoy , Ms Marts always delivers wonderful characters and happy endings.
First off, the cover of this book is absolutely stunning. In this day and age of half-naked, headless, photoshopped men's torsos, I appreciate book covers that are unique and thought out and this one is one of the best I have seen not just recently, but in the last few years. It's just beautiful.
This story is so wonderful. Ms. Marts has spun the kind of sweet and funny story that I didn't want to end. The setting was beautifully described and just felt like home, and the characters were the kind of people you want to be friends with. I loved Mack and Jocelyn, but the side characters were also fantastic. They were exactly the kind of fun and quirky characters that I love to read about. The meddling Grannies and Savage were my favorites, but they were all great. They added so much to the story without overtaking it - Ms. Marts balanced them beautifully. And of course, Jocelyn and Mack were both fantastic characters. Mack was the kind of book boyfriend I want to read about - strong and solid with a romantic, sweet side that wasn't too sugary/fakey sweet, just realistic and relatable. The most surprising character for me was Jocelyn. I confess that I went into this one expecting the usual “vapid/flighty/obnoxious city girl who is oblivious to real life and everyone around her” character that is usually portrayed in the romance world when a career-oriented woman goes to a small town, but Jocelyn was wonderful. She was kind and caring, she didn't act like the world revolved around her, she respected everyone, and was likable. I never once wanted to throw my Kindle while reading it and that's saying something.
The story line was sweet and well-written, it was literally like a Hallmark movie in book form. Something that I happen to really love. If the best parts of the story wouldn't get axed and the story wouldn't get changed to make it happen, I would love to see this as a movie some day.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well-written book that doesn't rely on a barrage of sex scenes to show two people falling in love, but instead actually shows to people developing a relationship in a believable way that sets them up for an *actual* happily ever after.
This story would be a wonderful additional to anyone's library. Refreshing and entertaining, it keeps the reader engaged until the end. Wonderful wonderful story!
Rescuing Harmony Ranch was a charming story filled with heart, romance and family. If you adore Hallmark movies, second chance romance and happily ever afters, then you'll definitely want this one on your tbr!
“I miss everything about this place,” she whispered, hoping he knew she meant him too, even though she couldn’t bring herself to say it out loud.
Jocelyn Stone was forced to leave Colorado with her mom, when she was a teen, and move to NYC. She left behind her Gram and boyfriend, Mack Talbot. Ten years later she's back. And while she thought memories from her past would haunt her, she didn't expect to see Mack. Especially not with him living and working on Harmony Ranch. But now they're going to have to pull together, to save her Gram's ranch. And it's the start of a brand new adventure!
They’d broken each other’s hearts— not intentionally, but it had hurt all the same. This one moment felt like a chance to heal some of that pain… to start anew.
I adored Jocelyn. She was a hard worker who loved deeply. The moment family needed help, she dropped everything to go take care of them. But between her job, helping take care of her Gram and trying to save the ranch, she had her hands full. Thankfully there was Mack to help her out. And while they were childhood friends and then sweethearts, they could be so awkward around each other at times. Other times they fit together so seamlessly. You could tell that they both were interested in the other, but there was 10 years of misunderstandings in their way. With so much that needed to be said, I wondered which one of them was going to take that first step.
“Just dance with me. Don’t think about all that other stuff. Leave the past behind us and the future ahead of us, and just be in this moment . Here. Now. With me.”
She let out a breath and relaxed in his arms. He drew her even closer and moved them around the grassy dance floor.
I screamed out loud when I realized that we also got Mack's POV. After just a few pages with him, I was so attached! Mack had this gentle, soothing manner to him, but you could tell that his emotions ran strongly through his veins. Especially since he seemed to remember everything from their past. And the way he was thoughtful, kind and considerate to Jocelyn, it all melted my heart! But my heart also broke for Mack, he knew that Jocelyn was going to leave again. Just like last time. I kept the hope alive and my fingers crossed. Ohhhh and I absolutely loved Mack's dog, Savage! He was the hugest sweetie ever and his antics had me constantly smiling when he was on the pages.
He held her gaze, his voice dropping to a husky whisper. “I would do anything for you.”
She sucked in a sharp inhale at the intensity of his words.
There was a gaping hole between Jocelyn and Mack that they needed to work through. But both of their Grandmothers, who were also best friends, loved to meddle. I enjoyed watching them try to discreetly push Mack and Jocelyn together. But trying to save the ranch also did that too. Shared meals, brainstorming meetings, dancing by the lake and so much more captivated me. Not only did I find myself rooting for the ranch to be saved, but for Jocelyn and Mack to be together too.
“When is the last time you let your heart decide?”
She swallowed. “Never.”
“Maybe it’s time you gave your heart a chance.”
Romance lovers will be delighted with Rescuing Harmony Ranch! This story was so adorable and a lot of fun. I couldn't stop smiling at their antics and everything that unfolded. And I kept thinking that this would be the perfect Hallmark movie! If you're a fan of romance that is sweet, there's a great chance you'll fall hard for this book too!
Light, escapism reading.
I found it a bit too predictable.
I liked the second chance at love story.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an arc in exchange for my honest review.
Jocelyn leaves her demanding, high pressure job in New York and flies to her former hometown when she hears that her beloved grandmother has been hurt in a car accident and is the hospital. Gram looks so little and pale in the hospital bed. Once the painkillers wear off, Gram, aka Molly wants to leave the hospital ASAP to make sure the annual festival goes according to plan.
Harmony Ranch is a working ranch and also a historical museum that does tours. The annual festival there brings in lots of people and helps to raise money. Jocelyn promises her Gram she will do her best using her marketing skills to make the event perfect. She knows she can't do it alone. Mack, who is the grandson of Gram's best friend, and Molly's high school love will be helping her since he works on the ranch.
Neither has been in touch with the other for years and there are lots of hurt feelings right below the surface. Will the two of them be able to work together to rescue Harmony Ranch? Will Jocelyn put her job first or be able to have a future with Mack?
I love second chance romance stories. They give hope that you can leave the hurts of the past behind and find comfort and joy. The setting at a ranch in Colorado gives a beautiful western feel, even though is not a cowboy tale.
Jocelyn is a great heroine who struggles like many women and feel driven to succeed, even when there is a steep price to pay. She has stayed away from her Gram and Harmony Ranch because she was afraid of seeing Mack who broke her heart and seemed to have moved on.
Mack has stayed in the area for many years and enjoys working as a blacksmith for the ranch. He was hurt by abandonment as a child and is afraid to get to0 close with Jocelyn who he feels abandoned him by moving to New York. He is afraid she will abandon him again by going back to her job. The author shows him as a very strong man with his blacksmith skills and who doesn't love a big, strong man?
Mack's dog Savage provides lots of laugh out loud humor. You can just picture the basset hound through the author's vivid description. Another source of humor is Gram/Molly as she tries to do lots of things using her knee scooter to get around and the way she tries to matchmake. She has such a loving nature, too.
I was very excited to see this novel of Jennie Marts is from Hallmark Publishing. She is so talented and deserves to have an even wider audience. I don't know if there will be Hallmark Channel movie made from this lovely book, but I would certainly watch it.
In these uncertain times, romance readers should get a copy of this sweet story to uplift their spirits.
