Pretty good book. Typical hallmark book which would be a better movie. Kinda boring at times. Not one of my favorite books I have reviewed on here.
There's nothing I enjoy more than a feel good romance. The one you know from the start it's going to make you believe in forever love.
Rescuing Harmony Ranch is just that. It's the story of puppy love that transcend time and distance.
Jocelyn and Mack are perfect for each other. They've been apart for 10 year but now they are forced to come together to save the ranch and sparks fly from the get go.
This book is sweet and full of love. It truly gives the feel of a community that cares for one another.
The side characters are adorable both grandmas stole my heart and I have to say more often than not my stomach rumbled with the descriptions of the recipes.
If you enjoy quick read feel good romance this is the book for you.
I used a couple of tissues while reading, Rescuing Harmony Ranch. I can totally see this book made into a Hallmark Channel movie.
This is a sweet second chance read. Jocelyn returns home to help her Gram save her ranch. Once there she runs into Mack, who was her first love. While home she wonders if her heart is at the ranch or New York where her job and maybe a promotion awaits?
Absolutely delightful second chance romance! Great surprise at the end of the story!
Rescuing Harmony Ranch by Jennie Marts is the fourth book in Hallmark's Country and Cowboys series. In this story New York City marketing guru Jocelyn Stone returns to Harmony Ranch after moving away ten years ago. Harmony Ranch is owned by Jocelyn's grandmother and is a living history museum and ranch spotlighting ranch life in the early 1900's and open to the public. Jocelyn is called back to Harmony Creek, Colorado to help out her grandmother who has broken her leg in an automobile accident. Jocelyn plans to avoid seeing Mack Talbot, her first love, while at the ranch but that ends up being impossible. Mack is the homestead caretaker and blacksmith there and lives in the caretakers cottage onsite. Jocelyn and Mack are tasked with the final setup for the Harmony Creek Hoopla which everyone hopes will raise enough money to save the ranch. The Hoopla was so much fun to read about. There were sack races, three-legged races, all kinds of demonstrations and my favorite the Boxed Lunch Social Auction. Readers will enjoy the Hoopla and the pop-up concert as well as laugh and love along with Jocelyn and Mack on their journey to their Happily Ever After.
Rescuing Harmony Ranch is a wonderful read where the owner of the ranch asks her granddaughter to come home to help save the ranch. Can an old love bring the couple back together? You'll find this interesting to see how .
I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.
I have read other books by this author and enjoyed them greatly. This was a sweet story - definitely appropriate for Hallmark. Jocelyn comes home to help her grandmother with her Living Museum after she suffers a broken leg. Her childhood sweetheart, Mack, still lives at the farm and is now the caretaker. They have to work together to figure out how to come up with the funding needed to keep the museum open. In typical Hallmark fashion, there is of course a HEA but until then, the reader is left guessing whether Jocelyn will stay in Colorado or go back home to her job and the promotion that she has been working so hard for.
This is a amazing work of art by Jennie Marts. This book is about coming home and coming back to her love she left.
I am so glad I had the pleasure of reading an arc of this book!
Jocelyn returns home after years living in 'the big city' to help out her hilarious grandmother, who has just broken her leg. It turns out, that the annual festival needs to bring in more finances than usual, because her grandmother has made a lot of depts to keep the ranch afloat. Because if she doesn't, she will forfeit her ranch. Having grown up on that ranch, Jocelyn can't let that happen. Even if it means teaming up with Mack, her high school sweetheart, who has broken her heart all those years ago.
Together, they come up with all kind of new events and activities to make the annual festival a smashing success. Mack's and Jocelyn's grandmothers are hilarious. Scheming, blunt and with a sharp tongue. You got to love them! Will they be able to save the ranch? Find out for yourself. A wonderful read, with lots of love, animals and laughter. Five out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
What an awesome read. I couldn't seem to put it down once I opened it. Grams had an accident and Jocelyn came home to take care of her. Jocelyn juggled her work on a new Coffee Shop campaign and the campaign to save the ranch all while making sure her Grams was doing well.
Mack was her exboyfriend and the grandson of Grams best friend Loretta. We meet a cast of matchmakers and good citizens who want to help save Harmony Ranch. Grams has a big balloon payment coming due this month and it is up to them to raise 24 thousand dollars.
Also will they be able to save the ranch and maybe have a second chance at love. Check it out. I loved the book and think you will too.
This was such a super sweet read. Jocelyn and Mack amble their way into your heart with matchmaking grannies, lost puppies and pie.
Their combined efforts to save Harmony Ranch work in parallell with their rekindling of old flames.
Jocelyn is a strong woman who gets on with what needs to be done. She fiercely loves her grandmother and Harmony Ranch and it shows in her actions.
Mack is the strong, silent, actions speak louder than words type. But it doesn't matter how loud your actions speak if the other person doesn't speak the language.
There's youthful hurts and mistrust abound, and I would have loved to read Jocelyn confronting her mother.
Everything you want in a Hallmark book and more.
I received an arc of this via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Jennie Marts brings us a feel good story of romance, rivalry, and family. We meet Jocelyn and Mack when she returns to help her grandmother after receiving a call that she was in a car accident and needed her help. It turns out that her grandmother needed her help putting together the annual festival so that her home and livelihood is not taken away from her. Problem is that her teenage crush is working there and they will need to come up with a way to make this year's festival the most profitable if they are going to save the homestead.
We get to see Jocelyn and Mack remember moments from their past and the hurt and anger that those memories bring them. We see how they work together to help her grandmother's dream of keeping their home into a reality. We see the dilemma that Jocelyn faces when she is torn between what could happen in Colorado and what she would have to leave behind in New York. Will Jocelyn and Mack be able to mend their hearts? Will they be able to save her grandmother's home? Will the festival be a huge success? This is a sweet story with some lovely surprises thrown in that will cement this as the feel good story that Hallmark stories have always been.
I enjoyed reading Jocelyn and Mack's story and look forward to the next adventure. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I would like to thank NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this privilege.
Though Harmony begins as a classic Hallmark, do not let that fool you. Jennie Marts abruptly takes former small-town girl Jocelyn Stone back to Harmony Creek to help her recuperating grandmother and pushes her smack into heartbreaker former boyfriend, Mack Talbot. Delightfully, the witty and unique precarious situation rekindles flames for both while Jocelyn remotely manages her NYC marketing job. Both joyful and painful memories haunt them as they attempt to repair an estranged friendship. Full of their own personalities, farm animals also have starring roles.
With anticipation, I look forward to more from New-to-me author Marts.
I received a complimentary copy of the book without obligation. This review is my opinion.
Great story for a cosy afternoon read. Media loving city girl Jocelyn gets called back to the historical living history homestead to help her grandmother after a fall. Her old love Mack is now the caretaker and they have to work together to raise the money to save the ranch, romance blossoms, as they discover her mother kept them apart by not passing on their letters to each other. Jocelyn gets offered the money needed if she gives up Mack, and returns to the city. Leaving Mack feeling abandoned yet again, but as with all good romance stories things fall into place at the last minute, and media phobe Mack get to grip with Facebook to win his girl. Lovely small town romance where the locals join together and help to save the day.
Looking forward to a follow on to see how Sophie and Chase’s story develops.
A sweet read that is perfect for any time of year! Our main characters have history, which complicates their necessary reunion to help save the ranch, but ends up being the magic that saves it. Although a small piece, my favorite part was the surprise character relationships toward the end of the book....I'd love to see a spin off book with Sophie and the new guy!
Rescuing Harmony Ranch by Jennie Marts is a sweet, fuzzy, and enjoyable contemporary romance that truly checks all the boxes.
I love second-chance romances, and this one definitely fits the bill. Jocelyn Stone returns to Harmony Creek, Colorado at the plea of her Grandmother whom is needing help at her ranch and homestead business. Jocelyn wants to go home, and drops everything to race home from the big city to assist, however knows that she possibly will encounter the one that got away, Mack. What ensues is another chance at clearing up misunderstandings, a chance to save the business, and a possibility at love and happiness.
I really liked Jocelyn and Mack. Both are flawed, likable, and realistic characters. Both have their strengths, and their hang ups, and seem to compliment each other well. The chemistry is there, and so is the happy ending. One knows what will unfold throughout the narrative, however that just makes this story that much more endearing. I truly enjoyed it, and I hope we get to see this made into a Hallmark movie.
5/5 stars
