Quick, fun read that is part of a series. Gabe just got bad news right before Christmas that his grandmother is very sick. He wants to make this a great time for her and decides that what he needs is a “fiancée” (fake). Enter Anna who has just helped him with a big business deal. What could go wrong? They are attracted to each other, but have not been romantically involved. Well, you know how things like this go. Will they work it out? Will true love conquer all? The only way to find out is to read this fun story.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this story.
A hallmark moment book where good vibes flow through you whilst you read.
Brief; photographer comes with her child to take family portraits for a grandmother before she dies.
Story; pho graphed had a fling with the grandson and the child she has is his.
More story; oh the drama these two go through to find a happy medium and a mutually agreed love is crazy.
An enjoyable read that I couldn’t put down. Would recommend this to anyone who wants a light hearted read
Well written romance. Good plot and character development. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley and this is my unbiased review.
I have really been enjoying these fake engagement/instant marriage sort of romances since there is always drama straight from the beginning rather than a slow build like typical romances. The side plot in this sadly let it down a little for me as I didn't feel invested enough in the characters to particularly care about their backstories and how that impacted them in the novel. I did like the other side plot with the ex-boyfriend coming back - it was just enough drama to get intriguing but nothing too much to dominate over the romance.
The characters were okay but nothing outstanding. I wish we got more of Anna at work because the snippet we did see was a force to be reckoned with. I felt like Gabe had very few redeeming qualities, other than his occasional sweet or grand gesture but other than that it felt more like lust on his part with a sudden shift to love when the plot demanded it but nothing really happened to explain why his feelings developed.
Overall, it's not my favorite Leslie North read but it had. I'd probably give this one a skip but she has some other amazing books with similar tropes.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series, number 2, but it reads well as a stand alone. This is a fake fiancee story. Gabe and Anna, could have gone much worse when it came out that it was all fake! Cute, quick, fun read. 3 stars
A quick and easy Christmas read. Three brothers, each finding their true loves. This one is Gabe's story. When he asks his work associate Anna to help him play along as a fake fiance, naturally sparks are going to fly. Predictable, but enjoyable. Would recommend, as it kept my interest through to the end.
This is the book 2 in the Elkin brother's series. This is the story of Gabe Elkin, the second brother whom we hear about but do not meet in the first story.
This book can be read as a standalone but when I read after part 1 I felt a familiarity with the Elkin Lodge and the Elkin family.
Gabe is the second brother and is a Tech billionnaire making it on his own in the city of Las Vegas,. When he comes to know of his grandma's deteriorating health he wants to go back to the Elkin resorts but wants to portray that he his happy in life. That's when he proposes a fake engagement with Anna Winters who is his professional associate and also very lovable. Anna is a very hardworking lovable young lady who likes Gabe and cannot deny the proposal.
Fake relationships are my favourite romantic trope to read and I loved the author's treatment of this story. the story is written well and is engaging as I got invested in their fake relationship and was rooting for it to materialize, The inner conflicts in bot their minds, their chemistry and the family relationship are all well written
If like me, you too enjoy the fake relationship trope then you will definitely love this story. Lots of romance and lots of sizzle is added to the mix.
I Thank Relay publishing and Netgalley for approving my request to review this book. The opinions expressed are entirely mine.
It was a great read, plus festive. I've never read this author's work before, but after this book, I'm definitely going to. Excellent job.
Another great story by Leslie North, just in time for the holidays. Anna and Gabe deceive his family into thinking they’re engaged after his grandmother is diagnosed with cancer. Staying in the same room at the family lodge their feelings become heated, but it all falls apart and the ruse is discovered when Anna’s ex fiancé turns up shouting his mouth off, Anna flees home as Gabe deals with the fallout before coming to his senses, chasing after Anna and bringing her back to join his family Christmas.
This was the second book in the series i have read, and i loved it just as much as the first if not more! Perfect festive read, easily finished it within a few hours
Second in this Christmas series. Ok read. I had a problem with the angst and quickness of this story. Also felt that the female love interest’s character could have been more fully developed and the male was just poor and pitiful. Ok, read.
Need a quick Christmas fake engagement with some steamy scenes? Well look no farther than The Billionaire's Fake Christmas Engagement. North does a good job on getting you invested in the story with likeable characters that are just trying to fit in somewhere. This is a quick, easy read and the second story in the series but works also as a standalone, I did however, like this one more than the first.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. All spelling and grammar errors are totally my own.
We're all trying to get into the Christmas spirit, so why not with a passionate story that gives you all the feels by an author who consistently brings you great romance.
The billionaire’s fake Christmas engagement by Leslie North
Billionaire and female colleague with a secret hidden family past pretending to be engaged to attend a perfect family gathering. All goes well but then slowly it all starts to unravel.
A great festive story. Well written, fast flowing story, very enjoyable with fab scenery and storyline just curl up on the sofa with hot chocolate and this book and your in seventh heaven.
A swoon worthy Christmas story. Drool worthy ski lodge. And a hunky billionaire. And just the right amount of hot and sexy. What's not to love?
Good, classic story. A fake relationship to help impress family turns real. Nice, quick read. Slightly x rated
Billionaire business mogul and the poor girl whose childhood was a mess find love. I love these kinds of romance novels. Especially when the Billionaire's family is so warm and welcoming. Gabe's Family is wonderful. Can't wait for the third installment of the series.
