I loved the story, the world building and meeting the different characters. I felt completely immersed in the story and couldn't stop reading it.
Bjorn Cursed by N.J. Walters is book four in her Forgotten Brotherhood series.
Odin ordered Bjorn Knutson to retrieve a woman who dared to leave the afterlife. What manner of woman would try such a thing?
Anja doesn’t know where she is or how she got here, but she knows she’s in trouble.
N.J. Walters introduces some new characters and familiarizes us with some previous ones in this installment of the series. We learn more about the worlds they inhabit and the rich lore that surrounds them. Bjorn Cursed is well-written with a complex and compelling plot. There are some unexpected twists, and the ending is satisfying. There is some explicit and violent content, but this is a great read. I was enthralled from start to finish, give it 4 out of 5 stars, and recommend it to all readers of paranormal romance and paranormal suspense.
My thanks to Entangled Publishing, LLC, Entangled Amara, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However, the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.
This is a book way down the row in a series. I am not sure the number but there was a lot of world-building I missed. I need the missing sections. I have so many questions. It is a short, short time frame. Like the plot only takes one day. And they had sex a lot in that one day while running and hiding and trying to figure out how to stay together. It was a lot. It was not bad. It had a lot of fun and steamy scenes. The perfect read for an airport or car ride where you want to turn your brain off and be surprised by how fast time can fly.
This book was just outstanding. I just had so much fun reading this story. I’m really excited to see what’s next from this author.
this was a wonderfully done scifi novel, I loved the idea that each story is a standalone. The characters were great and I had a fun time reading this.
Loved it! This Bjorn's story and was a great read! Bjorn is met with a blast from the past, to say the least, Lol. Because of the interference from the gods, Loki, by Lucifer's orders, Bjorn is reunited with his dead wife, Anja. However, he is unaware of that fact when he is ordered by Odin, to kill a woman who escaped from Freya's hall. Filled with past characters, humor, suspense, action, and another surprise that they didn't see coming makes for an entertaining story. Loved it!! 4.5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this paranormal romance as I liked the others by this author.
Good world building and character development, an engrossing and entertaining plot.
I can't wait to read the next.
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
I am a big fan of Romance books and I found this one to be a very enjoyable read. I will be looking for more books from this author.
Bjorn Cursed (Forgotten Brotherhood #4). By N.J. Walters. 2021. Entangled: Amara (ARC eBook).
Centuries ago, Bjorn Knutson’s wife and children were slaughtered. In his rage to avenge his family, Bjorn beseeches Odin’s help and is cursed by the Norse god as the first Norse werewolf. Bjorn spent many years in a blood rage, sent on missions by Odin. Now, Bjorn is a part of the Forgotten Brotherhood, but he is still sent on missions by the Odin. The latest concerns a spirit who has escaped Freya’s Hall and has a death sentence upon her head. But when Bjorn finds her, she is human and his wife, Anja. Now they have to escape the gods they have angered so that they can have a second chance.
I found Bjorn Cursed entertaining and steamy. This was my introduction to the Forgotten Brotherhood series and I want to learn more about the Brotherhood and its purpose. Bjorn and Anja’s story was about reunion, loyalty and courage, and were likable characters. The gods were Odin, Freya, and one other from the Norse pantheon, as well as Lucifer. So an interesting mix of myths and supernaturals in this world. I look forward to catching up on the previous books and the next ones.
Bjorn, After his wife and children are slaughtered, he rages at Odin and begs for vengeance this becoming the first werewolf. Hes tasked by Odin to hunt down a woman who had escaped from the afterlife, Freya's Hall. Comes to find out its Anja his long dead wife!
the whole gang is back together to tackle this mess!
Enjoyed it.
I loved the whole family dynamic trio of this book! Bjorn is a shifter and his wife, Anja, a servant of the Norse gods,. Little does he know she has been in Freye’s realm playing maid. Anja has a history of making sacrifices for what’s best for her family. She has been alone for hundreds of years hoping her family is safe and had second chances. But that all changes when she is taken and placed back on Earth....
I was excited to see Bjorn and Anna’s son, Sven introduced! I’m excited about where his story could lead. LOVED HIM!!! I have previously read the other books in the series and it was also fun to see some old characters come into the fray to defend their friends. I would recommend this for those who love paranormal romance. This one was a little different I think because of the whole family background. I would rate this a four out of five. This ARC was provided to me by Netgalley for a fair and honest review.
The fourth book of the series opens up when Bjorn was summoned by Odin. From there everything when south…
This book represents a mother’s love for their children, bravery, sacrifice, and eternal love.
It shows that even after death, when you have found your soulmate, you will never find another like him/her. It also shows the importance of vows given by the gods.
I adore how the Brotherhood works. Even if thet are different from each other, they have something that binds them together… friendship.
It’s rare to have true friends nowadays, and I am happy that this book celebrate how important good friends are. That no matter the circumstances, they will always be there for you. What ever the differences you have, it will not stop them from helping each other.
Another great book, another master piece. I look forward to reading another book of hers.
The members of the Forgotten Brotherhood once again find themselves being used as pawns to entertain the Gods and Goddesses. At least that’s what it seems like. This time it’s Bjorn that they’re toying with and the situation that they have put him in is beyond cruel. As if his hasn’t tortured him enough, he finds his long lost wife, only to be charged with the task of killing her.
I’ve only read two books in this series, so my opinion might change, but as of right now, Bjorn Cursed is my favorite. It’s not just because of Bjorn and Anja though. The Forgotten Brotherhood is a formidable force mainly because they consider themselves family. If one of them is threatened, they don’t stand alone. That sense of family is what has really pulled me into this series.
The odds seemed stacked against Anja or Bjorn. If Anja was taken away from him again, Bjorn wouldn’t stop seeking revenge and his friends wouldn’t be able to bring him back this time. This was a fast paced story with danger pretty much around every corner – as well as a few surprises.
I’m not sure what’s next for the Forgotten Brotherhood, but I still have some back tracking to do. Fury Unleashed and Arctic Bite are the first two books in the series so maybe I can pick up at least one of them before the next book is released. 😉
4*
I started this book not realized it was the 4th book in a series. While it mentions characters that featured in previous books, it is able to be read and understood as a standalone.
Bjorn Knutson is the first werewolf, created by Odin himself. After years of being left alone, Odin tasks Bjorn with killing a woman that has supposedly escaped from Freya's Hall in the Afterlife. He soon discovers that the woman who 'escaped' is his wife Anja, who had died along with their children centuries ago after their village was attacked. Vowing to do whatever it takes to protect Anja, Bjorn goes to the Forgotten Brotherhood which he is part of. They suspect that Lucifer has had something to do with Anja being pulled out of the afterlife. Bjorn and Anja escape to a secluded cabin, but are soon discovered by Freya's blade who was sent to hunt Anja and return her to face justice. The blade is Sven, the eldest son of Bjorn and Anja. Once he remembers, he too, vows to protect Anja. It becomes known that Loki was responsible for pulling Anja out, as a favor to Lucifer. Freya and Odin don't care about this and plan to take both Anja and Bjorn. Death himself interferes. He grants Anja immorality to live as long as Bjorn.
While it took me some time to get into the story as it was not something I was in for mood for, I found it enjoyable. Steamy sex scenes, angry vengeful gods, powerful immortals, I mean what more can you ask for.
I received this as an early release ebook through NetGalley for review purposes. All opinions stated remain my own
Yet another enthralling addition in a great series that just keeps getting better. I have long been a fan of this particular author and this far have only found more reasons to enjoy her work. Entertaining story and compelling characters made for a great read.
I didn’t think the Forgotten Brotherhood could get any better or more intense. I was wrong. Bjorn Cursed grabbed me by the emotions and never let go until the final page.
Bjorn has endured centuries of ravaging pain, the need for revenge, and a loss so great that even killing those who deserve death only taps the surface of his anger, his pain. Now, he’s been challenged to find a woman who has escaped the afterlife – and kill her. Remember, the gods do nothing good for anyone, not even those they created. So, this is a double-edged sword moment for Bjorn. Because the woman he’s supposed to track down and destroy is his beloved wife, Anja.
Beyond the inconceivable joy at finding each other, Bjorn and Anja have battles to fight for there is an enemy out to destroy Anja, discovering just why Bjorn was sent to kill his wife, or how and why she escaped the afterlife in the first place, and a future to fight for because neither one will ever leave their beloved’s side again, this time even death will not separate them should it come to that.
I couldn’t put Bjorn Cursed down. It’s hard to realize that the events in this story (aside from the long separation) only took such a short time. We’ll get to see and catch up with all of the previous couples from the Forgotten Brotherhood series. And while each story can stand on its own, I would still recommend reading from the start to get the entire background of this intense world. There certainly are twists and turns along the way, sizzling steamy moments for Anja and Bjorn, and a battle for their lives to be won. I enjoyed myself so much back in this world, and I’m hoping it’s not the end for there is still more that I’d like to learn. Time will tell. But, if you love an intense paranormal romantic suspense styled story that will keep you glued to the pages from start to finish – you’ll want to pick up Bjorn Cursed right now.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher, Entangled via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

This installment of the Forgotten Brotherhood series can, just like all the others, be read as a standalone, but we get a little more investment if you've been with this crew since the start. There's a slightly larger play going on behind the scenes, so in order to put the pieces together, or guess at motivation, you should start from the beginning (also - the books are great!).
This book handles Bjorn's unresolved guilt and deceased family. As the father of werewolves, cursed by the gods to go on a killing rampage to avenge his family's murder, he's got some baggage. Unlike all the other books, we don't go through the attraction building, misunderstanding phases that seem to be required for these types of books. Instead, Bjorn's dead wife somehow ends up back in the real world unchanged. They dive right into being together again, so we get a double dose of smutty goodness, but no real buildup there.
The mystery here is who is playing against who, why everyone is out to get them, and how they will manage to wrestle some happiness out of a pretty crummy situation. While we don't get all the answers here, we do get the expected familiar faces, some surprises, and a nice ending.
In the 4th book of the Forgotten Brotherhood Lucifer is up to his old tricks, causing problems for our favorite brotherhood. This time, he’s had a woman removed from the Norse afterlife and placed her right in the path of Bjorn Knutson. After the slaughter of his wife and family centuries ago, tortured and broken, Bjorn was cursed as the first Norse werewolf. Now he’s been tasked by Odin himself with killing the woman who escaped. Failure is not an option. Unluckily for Bjorn the escaped woman is his wife Anja, who sacrificed herself for their children. It was wonderful to see their love rekindled and it had plenty of exciting twists and turns throughout to keep readers enthralled. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy Abigail Owen’s Fire’s Edge series or the Ancients Rising series by Katie Reus.

Loved this book. I have been waiting on Bjorn! NN.J did it again. In this book we bring in the Norse mythology and Odin and Freya. Bjorn lost his mate and children a long time ago and has been living through the centuries on his own in rage and grief. Bjorn gets tasked from Odin himself to retrieve a woman that escaped Freya Hall. He learns its his long lost wife and will do anything to keep her. He lives to protect and love Anja. The chemistry and steam factor between Anja and Bjorn is off the charts. He is definitely alpha all the way. Freya brings in her most prized warrior to finally bring Anja in and its their son! This book was beyond what I pictured and can't wait for more. Can't wait to see what the next book brings. Hoping Death gets his own book and their son! One clicked buy for me and proud to support NJ Waters.
