I grabbed this simply because I loved this line in Throne of Glass. I went in blind and ended up loving this one! Seeing your last moments with someone just off of one touch is pretty amazing!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me an advanced copy of this book to read and review.
I didn't end up finishing this one—the synopsis sounded promising, but it almost felt like the draft of a Wattpad story. Not well-written or well-edited. Thanks to Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
DNF - Did not finish. I did not connect with the writing style or plot and will not be finishing this title. Thank you, NetGalley and Publisher for the early copy!
This was just okay for me - the romance was not developed enough at all for me and the story was incredibly predictable!
I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet and easy going and i really liked the concept. That being said, the writing could have been improved on and the editing wasn't the best.
This didn't detract too much from my enjoyment but it was an annoyance throughout
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I found this book sweet and magical. It is a story that follows Quinn who as a gift that she will see how all of her relationships, friendship and such will end with a single touch. Then she meets Griffin at an art gallery. She sees not only his death but she is cause. If that was not painful enough his last words to him were I love you. That is intense. I would have like to know more about this "curse" that has been passed down her family line. This is the first book I have read by this author it makes me want to look into what else they have written.
This one was pretty interesting. I loved the idea of seeing a relationship before it actually takes place. Knowing if it would be good or bad. I could have used that power ages ago. I loved the easy flow of the story and how simple it was. It made it an easy and fast read. I would have loved to see her use her powers more than what we did though. It was a fun read that would be great for this summer.
Cute and enjoyable but not the best writing. The editing can definitely use some work. The story is charming but fell flat at times. I’m always disappointed when the synopsis is more exciting than the actual book
This book swept me off of my feet. I thought it was such a unique story, and I couldn't put it down. I felt on edge almost the entire time reading this book, and I am so glad I decided to pick it up. It's an excellent YA Mystery that even could branch into Thriller a bit. It was wonderful. I am ecstatic to read more by Frydman.
First off, I'll easily say that the drama and action in this one kept me engaged and page flipping pretty quickly. YA thrillers like this with a premise that has the main character trying to find a way to survive, always has me reading super fast.
Quinn was a great leading character with a personality that I personally enjoyed and gave you a lot to appreciate who she is and what she stands for. She can see visions of the future when she touches someone and all she can see, and it's a one-time deal, is how their relationships or friendship will come to an end.
She's kind of become cynical because she spends her entire existence living in this feeling of how everything in her life ends. Which I believe has influenced her pretty calm demeanor.
But then she meets Griffin at a museum of all places and that attraction to him is hard to ignore. When she sees the vision of how they will end, it's pretty dramatic and results in him dying. Which absolutely sends her into an emotional tailspin.
The entire story was pretty amazing with Quinn working to find out how to save Griffin without ruining everything at the same time. Griffin is a pretty cool character, although he's simple and not much extra special about him, he's a good guy.
I would say the part that I didn't like was that all the stalker-ish bad things are happening to Quinn and the authorities are doing absolutely nothing to help her out. I found that element kind of rough to swallow, but it certainly doesn't take away from the important build ups or conclusion of how it all plays out.
All in all a fantastic read and a great start to 2021!
I thought this book sounded really interesting, and I was curious to check it out. I thought it was a good book! I found it to be an easy and enjoyable read. I wouldn’t necessarily describe it as a YA fantasy, there wasn’t much fantasy to it. I did enjoy the characters, though I wish we knew more about Quinn. I would recommend checking this one out!
I liked the premise of the book. Quinn magical or not so magical powers of knowing the end of her relationships by the first touch. I actually thought it was more of a curse than anything else but was curious how this would play out in the story. Would she be able to change her horrible vision that she had with Griffin? My issue was that the book was a bit boring for me. And the relationship between her and Griffin was too meh for me to truly invest in their relationship. The ending was a good surprise and okay twist. Overall, it was an okay suspenseful romance book.
I received this ARC from the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
I tried. I really did.
DNF at 28%
Trust me, no one is more disappointed in this than I am. I was looking foward to reading this one. I love the simple cover and I was way intrigued with the blurb. Sadly, I had to stop reading and finally decided to mark this DNF.
I want to begin by saying that I absolutely loved this book! It was such a fun read, and I seriously couldn’t put the book down once I got started.
To Whatever End by Lindsey Frydman has it all...romance, suspense, and a family curse. The book starts off with all of this in chapter one, when Quinn meets Griffin in an art gallery, and with one touch, she sees a future that includes his death and his love for her.
The book follows her course of trying to stop him from dying, which also means stopping them from falling in love. This is no easy task, as they keep encountering each other and she must spend time with him to figure out who would want to hurt him. That’s a whole other mystery, which unfolds throughout the course of the novel.
I loved both characters in the book, and felt the internal struggles of Quinn, who was willing to sacrifice having a relationship with Griffin to save his life. This book was filled with fast paced action and mystery, making it so much more than a teen romance novel. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a young adult mystery and/or romance.
A big thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book and give my honest review of it.
Unfortunately this was a DNF for me. It just didn't draw me in and I did not want to get bogged down trying to continue reading it.
I don’t know what I was expecting with this book, but know if you enjoy romantic thrillers than this is definitely for you! It was very well written, with phenomenal characters, and an original and realistic plot! Well written, fast paced, and full of suspense! Highly, highly recommend!
This book was such a surprise. I was expecting a fun romance but what I got was a romance thriller. I loved this story! Huge thank you to Entangled for gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was a book that I Really enjoyed this read and I would recommend to others easily, I will be looking out for other titles by this author.
This one didn't really work for me. The characters are very limited. WE only see about four characters and they aren't very complex. The motivations are thin.
