After the movie, I was curious about the book at the time it was only in Polish and when the English version was announced I knew I had to read it! Thank goodness I did!
Laura Biel is ready for a vacation to celebrate her 29th and one of her stops is in Italy. Laura is in a relationship with Martin, who doesn't give her spark. The Man In Black (Don Massimo Toricelli) couldn't believe his eyes when his saw Laura the women in his visions. Massimo sets up a plan to kidnap her and keep her for 365 days, after that she is free to leave. Laura is a strong dominant women who questions and pushes Massimo past his limits. Together there is fire and spark, each of them dominate character who say what is on their minds. The story flowed, while there was instant attraction there was a building of love from Laura side came a bit later. I would consider this more of a mob alpha hero romance, I have read dark books this is lighter but still carry some of the elements of a mild dark romance. I enjoyed both Laura and Massimo characters, nothing was hidden each character stayed true to their nature.
After that cliffhanger OMG!! I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!
This is a dark mob romance with Stockholm syndrome, that moves quickly.
I saw this book and remembered the movie that came out from it and how much epople talked about it so I decided to give it a go!
And oh wow that was something else entirely, nothing like I've read before for sure. This book is definitely not for everyone, but if you're a Fifty Shades of Grey fan then you'll enjoy this one!
Thank you to NetGalley and Atria for the earc in return for an honest review
I really really wanted to love this especially since the movie however I didn’t understand some of the translations and it was very hard to follow.
I don't know if it was the translation, or what, but I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would.
Of course, like everyone in America, I saw the Netflix adaptation first and wanted to give it a shot. Surprisingly, I enjoyed the movie more. The book kind of made me loose interest, there was some part that I skipped - which I never do. It was just too long, for no reason.
Interesting storyline, even though the writing often lacked a consistency. Even though this book is very controversial due to its topic, it has its good moments. This is a mafia romance featuring kidnapping, of course it's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea. Nevertheless I enjoyed the characters, even when I wanted to smack them around from time to time for being total idiots. I think this book is worth trying, at least to see if this is something you want to read or not.
365 Days is the book the movie was based off of. This book is the English version. I admit I did watch the movie and wasn't a huge fan of it. I can't say the book was much better.
Laura is on vacation with her boyfriend when she is kidnapped. Massimo seen Laura in a dream when he was shot and once he sees her in person he knows he has to have her.
She fights him at first but then becomes interested in him. Will they get their happily ever after or will outside forces tear them apart for good?
Overall all, this was an enjoyable read. But I think it would’ve benefited greatly from being dual POV. Massimo was the most interesting part of the book for me while Laura was the most frustrating. I think being able to see her through his eyes as he was developing feelings for her instead of being stuck in her head throughout the entire book, would’ve helped me to connect more with her as well as him. And I could’ve better understood exactly what he saw in her.
The plot was fast paced and kept me engaged from beginning to end, and at no point did I find my mind drifting at certain points. Sex scenes were rather good and paced out well, and very hot.
And lastly I could’ve done without all the fainting spells and “man in black” references. It became repetitive. I would definitely recommend this book though especially for those who enjoyed the movie, and it piqued my interest enough to want to read the next book
Last year all my friends were talking about the Netflix show 365 days. I never got a chance to watch it but when I saw the book I had to read it. The sex was hot and the intensity and chemistry between the two main character was so good. I enjoy the story.
365 Days was explosive with all the angst built in this story. I loved the characters and this story will leave you with your jaw to the ground.
Laura is a bit naïve. She was in a nowhere relationship but on vacation with him. It seems he always brushes her off when she wants a bit of attention. Then one day she is gone. She meets the man that is responsible for her disappearance.
**Massimo**
When Massimo and Laura were in the same room, you felt the temperature rising. A forbidden love was transforming before they could stop it. Was it a train wreck? Possibly. But these two could not get away from all of that chemistry and tension in the air.
I feel for these two and started to root for them, until it seemed like everything came crashing down and Massimo was gone. Oh all the emotion highs and lows. Then we get an unexpected ending. I need to know what will happen next!!
#365 Days by author # Blanka Lipinska is romance, fun, and naughty. It's the perfect book to take your mind off everything. It starts off with Laura whom is on a dream vacation and is kidnapped.......
Thank you for the advance copy # Netgalley, # #Blanka Lipinska, and #Simon & Schuster
I was interested in this one as I heard it was comparable to 50 Shades of Grey. Well I figured out quickly that I wouldn't exactly compare the two. This was just a terrible and insane as the Netflix film.
So outlandish that I'm not even able to absorb into this world and pretend. I was so excited to read this but yikes. Would be toxic and dangerous if I could pretend it could actually happen. I wanted to love it!
I really enjoyed this book. This book is major angst in the best way. I absolutely loved all the drama. Cannot wait for the next one.
this was so chaotic. it was like watching a trainwreck most of the time. i'd recommend watching the netflix movie instead, which is rare for me to suggest watching the movie over the book!
I wanted to like this ..I want to watch the netflix...I could not get into it for the life of me. The concept was there but it never came together. the book doesnt even span 365 days so the title confuses me.. but he promises she has this much time to fall in love with him but its a summer affiar at best
Wasn't sure what to expect from this book not having seen the show, but can't say I really enjoyed it! Seemed a little ridiculous.
What on earth did I just read! WOW This book is awesome! The book was way better than the movie on Netflix that is all I can say lol A long way from the Fifty Shade days. If you love erotica 😏 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the advance ecopy.
I was initially on the fence about reading this book. I saw the movie and I just wasn't sure I wanted to invest the time in reading this story. I am so glad I did! I'm addicted!
The story begins with Massimo having a vision of a woman. An angel who came to him. He has spent years looking for this woman and finds that she is real and she is Laura. He kidnaps her and gives her 365 days to fall in love with him.
This story is HOT!! There is a great deal of animosity, curiosity and angst and it is palpable. We see how defiant and stubborn Laura can be. We feel Massimo's indifference and the power that he yields. We witness their love story unfold.
This book held my attention and I didn't want it to end. It was well written and I am anxiously waiting for the next book in the series.
The movie made me want to read this book and it did not let me down. It’s spicy and hot and everything a person could want!
I was introduced to 365 Days, like others, through the Netflix film. I remember thinking to myself: “This is great, but I kind of wish there had been more sex”. So imagine my delight to find out that it was an adaption of the book 365 dni by Blanka Lipińska.
I’m all for a mafia romance/ dark romance. Give me a huge alpha male that could kill a man without second thought. Give me some questionable consent. I’m here for it. It takes A LOT to throw me off of a book, so I kind of knew what was to be expected in this book.
What 365 dni gave me though was more depth into Laura’s thoughts emotions. The fact that she acknowledges the obscene wealth that Massimmo has, frequently noting that her wardrobe could buy multiple apartments, have her more relatability in my opinion. Reading the interactions between Laura and the other characters gave more substance to the book than just the more detailed sex scenes. But, I won’t lie, those scenes were welcome too.
And okay, I get it. This book is probably not for everyone. There are some significant triggers in this book. You question a lot of the characters’ choices sometimes. I had questions while reading at some points. I sometime wished that we could have found out a little more history between some characters.
All of that being said, I enjoyed the ride of reading 365 Days. Even with that cliffhanger.
I was provided with this ARC by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
