Wow - I was absolutely enraptured by I Don't Forgive You. I haven't read a thriller that completely caught my attention in some time. Thank you for this advance copy!
I really felt connected to Allie in that I am also a working mom with a school aged child. The demands of "doing it all", especially living in the suburbs are real and heavy at times. So when the world LITERALLY came crashing down on this poor woman, I really felt for her.
The writing of this novel had me blasting through the pages and needing to find out the outcome. The ending made complete sense without being predictable. But man, such disturbing themes throughout. It almost felt overdone with how many "hot" topics were included.
The only other issue I had with the book were some needless bits of information throughout. The dark color of a man's skin, getting a scholarship because of race, I don't know, it didn't really settle well with me. They were so subtle, but for some reason, I didn't like that.
Overall, I would give this one 4.5 stars, but rounding up for GoodReads and this app. I think this will be a dynamite psychological thriller when it comes out!
Another heart pumping gives you chills thriller! Fast paced and keeps you on your toes! Full of twists you won’t see coming! Absolutely great whodunnit that’s not the same as every other story you’ll read this year!
It’s hard to get into a story when the first chapter drags on about one character saying the other character is like a bottle of wine. Mention it but don’t drag it on for several pages. I could never get into the story, and I Don’t Forgive You missed the mark for me.

Aggie Blum Thompson’s thriller, I Don’t Forgive You, starts out with a keen observation on the subtexts in suburban culture that sets the tone for the rest of this well-written and intelligent debut novel. The plot is smart and tight with an excellent sense of pacing that kept me up way past my bedtime, unable to put the book down. The main character, Allie Ross, has recently moved to a new, upscale neighborhood with her husband and son. Soon, she becomes an object of scrutiny as someone slowly demolishes her life through rumors and hacked social media posts. Hanging over her desperate race to find the anonymous tormentor is the atmosphere of judgement and hypocrisy of, in the author’s own words, “suburban intrigues and helicopter-mom Olympics.” Completely gripping and truly well written, I Don’t Forgive You will keep you glued to the pages until you reach the chilling end.
Gorgeously written, smart, and totally propulsive from the first page--I couldn't put it down! DC-suburbs mom Allie is being framed for murder, and as her past unspools and her present completely unravels, the threads of Allie's life converge in an explosive conclusion I never saw coming. An addictive whodunit, this thriller captures mom culture, #MeToo, and the real dangers of online impersonation, amid a beautifully drawn atmosphere of suburban paranoia. Predicting big things for this book, and this author.
Like wow. So dang good.
This writing guys was just amazing.
The plot I enjoyed the most. The characters in this book were likable and real.
This was the perfect weekend thriller read.
This amazing thriller kept me going to the last page. The main character has long buried her pass until she runs into someone at a party that recognizes her. They set off a chain of events that equals entirely high paced mystery. I highly recommend it
This book had me racing to the end to find out who was messing with Alexis’ life! A fast-paced, twisty story about not being able to truly escape your past, I Don’t Forgive You was especially creepy because it makes you realise the ease with which someone could destroy another’s life in this is digital age. Perfect for lovers of suspense based in suburbia, I’m giving this 5 stars!
This psychological whodunnit will not let you rest until you finish it! I wanted to take off from work to finish it, but enjoyed an evening of reading while the TV is blaring about the State Capitol chaos. Even with that going on I lost myself in this must-read. You may find yourself mindlessly eating while racing through an unforgettable story that will make you think about what you post or your security settings.
Allie & Mark, with their young son, moved to an upscale suburban neighborhood hoping for a normal lifestyle with him as an attorney and her as a booming photographer. What appeared as an innocent neighborhood party, turned into a flirty encounter with one of the local dads Allie had not met before that night. She will not soon forget his name when he attacks her in the bathroom. Hurriedly, her and Mark leave the party with questions rambling in her mind and her integrity and marriage at stake. Before she leaves the man warns her if you do not want to be a tease than stay off of Tinder.
The next day the news cast in her neighborhood with her attacker found dead.....
Before long, her job is at stake, neighbors suspiciously in and out of her life whispering and vicious posts appear on her social media, as well as naked photos of Allie.....It doesn't stop there!!!!! Her computer is hacked....steamy texts appear on her phone..... What else? There is more, if that wasn't enough!!
Police suspect her as the murderer....Could her past be the reason for the attacks? A jealous neighbor? Her own husband trying to sabotage her life? Her sister-in-law?
Talk about paranoia...I feared for her mentality with this much at stake.... When I thought I knew, I didn't.
Good job, Aggie Blum Thompson! Thank you for the ARC! I can't wait to see the explosion of this book in June 2021!!
Ordinarily I am not a thriller reader, and I'm not sure I've ever read a book that melded the thriller genre with women's fiction. I Don't Forgive You is the story of a woman facing all the ordinary things a woman might face--insecurities, a feeling she doesn't quite belong; passive-aggressive in-laws, sandwich generation issues, and family conflict. Those would be quite enough to carry a story, but in the first chapters, a guy Allie had a conflict with turns up dead. From then on, it's like an avalanche that begins with a single pebble and keeps gaining momentum and bulk as it rushes downhill.
I know I'm reading a really well-written book by my own emotional reaction. If I have to stop and remind myself, "It's fiction. Calm down. It's not real," then I know the author has written a book that has transported me. This book had me so stressed out on behalf of poor Allie, I realized the only solution was to get to the end!
I received an advance copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Unputdownable, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. New to the suburbs of DC, Allie is a little lost in the suburban social scene and overwhelmed by all the small daily dramas, then a murder happens. From mundane to outlandish, Allie's problems mount as she realizes someone is out to get her, someone close. But who? From page one, I was hooked. The author spins a great whodunit web, which had me guessing from start to finish.
I DON’T FORGIVE YOU is a fast-paced, engaging read that drew me in right from the beginning. It tells the story of Allie Ross, a newcomer to a suburban DC town, who gets caught up in a neighborhood crime, though she had nothing to do with it. Over the course of the story, the reader feels Allie’s frustration with her child, her husband, the police, her family, and her neighbors. Just when you think Allie can’t take one more stressor, Aggie Blum Thompson tell us otherwise. And, she takes on mom culture, wine culture, the #MeToo movement, and more in this gripping read. Highly recommend!
What a great book!
This author is a great writer that keeps the pace even and the content interesting to the very end.
The twists and turns will keep you guessing and having you up all night wanting to find out “who done it”.
Loved it!
I love domestic suspense novels and this one did not disappoint. It kept me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out what the heck was happening to Allie and how the dead man ties into her past. I was invested from the first chapter and did not see the ending coming. The book really kept me guessing, trying to figure out who was framing Allie. If you love a good thriller and trying to figure out what is going on, with well drawn out characters and great dialogue, this book is for you!
