Sloth and Squirrel in a Pickle is a fun story that I think little children will love. The illustrations perfectly embrace the personalities of the characters, through wonderful facial expressions. The story is slightly off the wall and zany, which always grabs the attention of my young readers. Hopefully we will see more Sloth and Squirrell adventures in the future.
I loved this book. I love the differences between sloth and squirrel. Great characters, fun story. Perfect read aloud.
A book about a slothX a squirrel and pickles. Is there anything better? Probably not. This was adorable. I’m pretty sure I am half squirrel and half sloth cause I could connect to the energy of both. My kid enjoyed it as well and now wants pickle popsicles lol.

This was so freaking cute! Now anyone who knows me knows that I love pickles and small furry creatures, so I could have guessed I'd like this story. The illustrations were great and really captured the emotions and vibes of the characters. I loved the optimism and their little business. This was a super fun read and I highly recommend it. I'd love to see more stories with Sloth and Squirrel.
This is a cute book about a pair of friends trying to earn money to buy a bicycle. Their job doesn’t exactly go as planned and antics ensue. The ending is cute and the illustrations are too!
Sloth and Squirrel in a Pickle by Cathy Ballou Mealey and Kelly Collier is a cute, silly little story about a squirrel and a sloth who take jobs doing pickle packing in order to raise money for a bicycle to share. These jobs work out about as well as you’d expect them to, but with an ingenious twist at the end. The art is fun and bright, and the two main characters accept each other for who they are, and work around their differences. Also, there’s a sloth and a grumpy peacock boss and lots of pickles. This is a fun book to share with kids.

Sloth and Squirrel in a Pickle is a funny story about two friends who want to buy a bike to ride together. Sloth and Squirrel get a job packing pickles to earn money, but everything goes wrong! First, they break a lot of jars! Then, Sloth sticks the labels on upside down! Will they be able to figure out a solution so they can get their bike?

Sloth and Squirrel want to purchase a bike, but bikes cost money. But they have a solution: get a job! The first job they come across hires them: packing pickles into jars. But, they aren't so good at it... how will they ever make enough money for a bike!?
This entertaining picture books is full of fun alliteration and onomatopoeia that will surely make any kid laugh!
I loved the creativity in the character choices and the addition of pickles. The art work was also beautiful and inspired. The story itself was one that was a little challenging for me to want to consider reading to my tiny humans - personally I'm not sure I agree with all of it. And even though its just a story the messages were mixed for me - work hard, yes! but some of the other ideas were not my favorite.
Sloth and Squirrel are quite the duo. Their partnership and misadventure may not be the most educational, but they are certainly entertaining and the pictures are top-notch!
Thank you Netgalley and Kids Can for change to read this book, I love it and so did my children!
Sloth and squirrel are best friends who decide they would like to buy a bike. Sloth finds them a job packing pickles.
There is much hilarity at their attempts to pack pickles and you can’t help but smile as you read their funny but unfortunate escapades.
This book is just what we all need at the moment, a good laugh and escape into silliness. The illustrations are as bright and cheerful as the story. A great read aloud that we will be adding to our shell shelf and my classroom.
A hilarious, colorful, adventurous read for the whole family! A playful combination of alliteration, funny characters, and wacky situation filled with heart.
Sometimes books just need to be silly and fun, and this one is. You could say that there's a moral here about things working out in the end, but it's okay for it to just be fun! And the art is charming.
Sloth and Squirrel in a Pickle is an adorable picture book all about teamwork!
For one, the idea behind this book in general is hilarious and makes it a must read. A sloth and a squirrel being buddies and working towards buying a bike. That's amusing! Add in the fun and engaging illustrations to this story (with an easy to follow and funny plot) and you've got a real winner for a fictitious picture book. Stories like these were what I needed back when I was a little munchkin and we barely had any books in my Kindergarten class.
These animals find a pickle packing job (seriously, funniest thing I've heard all week) and decide to work towards buying a bike! Also, the pickleology sign - I need one now.
Anywho, this book is comedic and fantastic! I highly recommend this picture book for how much fun it is.
Four out of five stars.

A humorous picture book that shows two animals working together to achieve a mutual goal. The speedy squirrel and the slow sloth make a great team by focusing on each others strengths. I loved the details in the illustrations. The peacock manager with his pickle phone and other accessories had me laughing. I would recommend as a fun story that demonstrates team work and friendship while celebrating differences.
Sloth and Squirrel in a Pickle was such a cute book! The two unlikely friends have different ways of working but come together in the end, to get what they want! The book would be great to use in a classroom as it has positive, uplifting language and examples. The pictures are expressive and the characters are great. I think kids would get a kick out of this book!

Friends Sloth and Squirrel want a bike. Unfortunately, bikes cost money. Luckily, Mr. Peacock has a job that needs workers, all they have to do is pack pickles in jars. That seems easy enough right? In Cathy Ballou Mealey and Kelly Colliers engaging picture book, Sloth & Squirrel in a Pickle, the authors have created a funny and engaging story. With colorful pictures and an engaging story, your little ones will enjoy every page.
This is the story of a hilarious little adventure starring an unlikely pair of friends who get a job and work together at a pickle packing place so they can buy a bicycle together! But they soon find themselves IN a pickle! It’s a lesson in...how to make pickle pops out of your pickles? But, also, how you can creatively solve problems and value each other’s differences. The illustrations are hilariously cute and playful: the happy, almost zany expressions all made me smile! I wish there was a little more of a sense of squirrel zooming and sloth slow-poking behind, but just because I like them so much. Super-cute!
