Not a book for a reader new to the series to jump into, but one full of back story and complex storylines which stretch back through both the Omega series and the Mercy books as well. Briggs' characters are as engaging as always and the mystery while not too hard to predict is enjoyable.

Another great adventure with Anna and Charles! Admittedly its been a while since I've read the previous book in the series and wished I'd done so before reading this installment. There were references to a past event that I couldn't quite remember, but thankfully it didn't have any impact on enjoying this one. This one took a little while to get going, but once it did it took off similar to the first book.

Anna and Charles face an old Evil that somehow feels bigger than any of the others they've faced before. I enjoyed the glimpses of mythology that are shared throughout.
I love Charles and Anna's relationship. The way they support and tease each other, the way they are still learning each other is so beautiful. The Evil they are up against is horrific. At times I stopped breathing a little because I wasn't sure how they were going to make it.
It was interesting to catch a glimpse of Bran and Leah's relationship, but I absolutely hated that we don't get to see the result of their final conversation. That's one of the reasons why my rating is lower. The second reason is that final scene when Sam arrives out of nowhere and hands over his child in order to protect it. There was no build up to that, no connection to the majority of the story.
I still loved chunks of the story, but the last few scenes unfortunately left me frustrated.

Patricia Briggs is a master at creating tension while elevating relationships to new plateaus. She's penned another winner with WILD SIGN, the sixth Alpha and Omega book. While the story can be read by itself, it helps to have read the previous books to see how the protagonists have grown into solid characters and companions.

Charles Cornick and Anna Latham are mated werewolves, part of the Marrok's pack. (The Marrok is the head werewolf of all the U.S. werewolves, and likely the most powerful in the world.) The Marrok, also Charles' father, sends Charles and Anna, as well as Tag, a third wolf, out on a mission to investigate some magical disturbances in Northern California, on a property belonging to his mate.

The Marrok's mate has little recollection of her time there, and the mystery grows as it's discovered that people who recently settled there disappeared, just as so many have disappeared from that area over the years.

As Anna and Charles deal with odd magic, something strange happens to Anna. Danger abounds, and Charles (with Anna and Tag's help) must work through the clues leading to the unknown before his mate is taken over by an evil in the mountains. Music, mystery, and love intertwine in this fabulous addition to the series that just keeps getting better!

Background on the Marrok's mate, Sherwood (!!), and a bittersweet ending make WILD SIGN a book you won't be able to put down. Fabulous! A must-read for urban fantasy fans, for Patricia Briggs fans, and for those who love a well-told, amazingly entertaining, fast-paced story.

Mated werewolves Anna and Charles Cornick, pack investgators, are informed by the FBI that someone is squatting on pack land in northern California, and that something strange is going on there. They travel down from Montana with another pack member, and find that there are no people left, but it's evident that something horrible has happened. Were witches involved? Are any of the residents still alive? What kind of malevolent spirits are Charles and Anna sensing? This is the kind of book that transports the reader to another world in the best way; Patricia Briggs creates a vivid place where the commonplace and the supernatural reside together. If you are a fan of the genre, I think you will love this book, but if you have not read the Alpha & Omega series before, I recommend reading them in order.

Patricia Briggs is awesome and I want her to write faster! There are at least two more books hanging around in the background of this one! She stayed true to the character of her characters and the story was nail-biting without being predictable at all. I enjoyed seeing Tag play a more dominant role and seeing Charles and Anna together is always a pleasure. The surprise was Leah. We finally get a glimpse of what makes her tick. I couldn't be more pleased with this title and cannot wait for the next!

I have been on a journey with Anna and Charles for almost a decade, and I don't see myself leaving them anytime soon. Wild Sign is another amazing addition to the Alpha & Omega series, I honestly just can't get enough of the complex and intriguing characters in the Marrok's pack. I especially love the bond Anna has with everyone, she is a very important pack member and has made life easier for many wolves. Her bond with Charles is beautiful and I love seeing the developments in their relationship. Anna has grown so much, she turned from a meek scared woman into a strong and fearless warrior. Wild Sign is one of my favorite reads of the year, and I hope I'll be adding books from this series to that list for a very long time.

In Wild Sign Anna, Charles and Tag are assigned to figure out what happened to a group of people who had been living off the grid but disappeared into thin air. This book was very mysterious and I was on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happened to these people. The atmosphere the author creates always gets me in the mood and keeps me intrigued until the end. It gets very dark sometimes, but there are also lots of sweet and fun moments. Wild Sign had the perfect balance of mystery, action, romance and humor. I loved that we were able to get to know a couple of characters better in this book, I especially was intrigued about Bran's mate Leah's backstory. I always hate getting to the end because I know I'll have to wait a couple of years for the next book. The ending has me very anxious to get my hands on book #7. I'll just have to reread this series until then.

I loved this book. Anna and Charles are back in action when they learn that a whole off the grid town has gone missing and the land is owned by Leigh. There is a lot more interaction and mystery in this book than the last. What I like most is that we get a deeper look into others not just Anna and Charles, but Leigh and Bran and how the pack works. There is a very interesting surprise ending that I will not spoil but could forever change the tone of the series. I look forward to more.

This next installment in the Alpha and Omega series is absolutely brilliant. The biggest problem I had with it is that I have to wait for the next one! Will order to continue series.

When the entire population of a tiny town in California goes missing, it doesn't seem like something Charles and Anna would need to investigate. After all, it's not even in their state.

However, it turns out that the land that those missing people had settled on belongs to the mate of their pack Alpha and that means it is their business to find out what happened those those forty people.

Taking an SUV and accompanied by the berserker werefolf, Tag, the three head down to forest in the middle of nowhere to solve a mystery.

What they didn't anticipate was coming across more than one type of mythical creature, nor did they think that one of those creatures would find Anna to be just what it needed to reach its goals.

Final thoughts: This is one of the better Anna/Charles books, but I really do prefer the Mercy Thompson series. I found it interesting that this story had a few answers to questions fans have posed for a while. The ending was a little odd, which I will go into in my spoiler-filled podcast.

Part of the Alpha & Omega series. The FBI has asked Anna & Charles to investigate a missing California town. The town is owned by one of the pack's companies, but no one seems to know anything about it. The town is extremely remote, and when they get there, it looks like everyone just walked off.. Charles & Anna find even more secrets, some of which go back hundreds of years. Fantastic adventure, highly recommended.

The story was fascinating. I’m not kidding when I say that I couldn’t put the book down. The story itself, but also the backstories of the characters pulled me in. And I loved that I found out so much about already established characters like Leah, Anne’s mother in law, her backstory was eye opening.

Also I was not prepared for how this story effected me. I don’t know why, but this time the story itself was quite menacing and thrilling. And the atmosphere of it all gave me actual goosebumps. And now, days later I’m still thinking about it. Proof that the author does storytelling incredibly well. Also I have this visual image of the bad guy (thanks to google) that I can’t forget. Shiver!!!

It’s also an example why the author’s books are always on the very top of my tbr. I pretty much drop everything to read them, and I’m never disappointed.

What too say, where to even begin. I won’t say much but I will say this, in this installment of Charles and Anna story I found hope renewed. The last two installments of this series I struggled with because too be honest they were slow and I felt deeply as if something were missing. But Wild Signs captivated me left me with a longing I haven’t felt since Cry Wolf. I’ll never get over your ability to transport the reader into a whole new world, bring a battle to the forefront with such visionary imagery when I was left clutching the sides of my tablet like a starving wild woman. I don’t know whats next but I know were in for a wild ride and I can’t wait. Thank you and for my fellow reader’s this is a must read I promise you wont want to miss it.

A really excellent installment of the Anna and Charles stories! Fresh while solidly set in the world building. We also get some much hoped for character background. Briggs is really developing the large scale mysteries and story arcs of her world in ways that both series of books contribute to, making for satisfying easter eggs for readers of both series.

Wild Sign is the sixth book in the Alpha & Omega series, a spinoff featuring a secondary character from the Mercy Thompson universe, Charles, and his wife, Anna. At a half dozen books (not counting the dozen or so in Mercy's series) you would expect the story to slow down or devolve, but NOT SO!

Wild Sign was addictive and intriguing and more than a little creepy at times. (Good, in my book.)

The mystery was eerie and excellent and readers will be relieved to learn more about Leah's backstory and why she and Bran make such a strange pair.

Readers of this series will not want to miss this installment.

Where do I start? From beginning to end Wild Sign BLEW ME AWAY! Just when I thought I was surprised, another plot twist had me reeling and rereading not quite sure I had read it correctly! Fans of Ms.Briggs are going to love this newest addition to the Alpha and Omega universe that ties up some loose ends nicely while also dangling some more. You'll have to preorder this one guys, you'll need it available at midnight to dive in!


For some more non-spoilery consideration: Patty really brought the backstory with this one. Some of my favorite characters from the Mercy Thompson series also make their brief appearances and all that does is leave you ready for a true cross over event! This is quite possibly my favorite release to date and that is saying something since there's seventeen other books in the werewolf world to compete with! This Anna and Charles adventure told a story I’ve been hoping to hear for a while. There were actually several revelations, and the book set the stage for events—both in the larger world and for Anna and Charles personally—in future books. There’s lots more story to tell, and I’m glad, because I love this series and don’t want it to end. The plot was nicely packed, but not overpacked, and fans of the series will not be disappointed.

Wild Sign follows Charles and Anna as they investigate a reemergent of the monster from Leah’s past, the one that led to her becoming a werewolf.

I don’t have much to say about Wild Sign because, while it was a complete adventure, it didn’t really move the Mercy Thompson world forward at all. While it explained some of Leah’s attitude, it didn’t resolve anything in her relationship with Bran, just ending in a cliffhanger that might be setting them up for a book of their own.

Charles and Anna’s relationship didn’t progress emotionally either. It regressed a little when Anna was trapped by a memory of her old pack, and hints were dropped about Charles possible confliction in having a child, but nothing was solved here either—though a child was dropped off for them at the end in another cliffhanger.

In a third, more minor cliffhanger, Sherwood got his memory back (without any more details than that it happened).

Overall, Wild Sign leaves readers with more questions than answers, perhaps leaving readers wanting too much more while not delivering enough.

4.5 stars - While I love Mercy and the folks in her pack, I often miss Anna, Charles, and the rest of Bran's pack in the intervals between Alpha & Omega books. Wild Sign is almost everything fans could want from an installment of this series though I did have to go back and look at some of the previous books to keep up with this one.

Wild Sign takes Anna and Charles (and Tag) away from the pack for this book. An interesting setting and more than a little creepiness make for an atmospheric book. The plot moves well and keeps you guessing though I thought a couple of things were a touch too obvious. This is the second book in which Briggs seems to be trying to make Leah more "human" and the third in which she seems to be trying to make Bran grow (though to be fair that might be true for the whole series and because of Anna). Both work to an extent but I kind of like Leah being not so likeable and at odds with most of the pack so...

Trigger warnings: Anna has flash backs to her time with the Chicago pack and there is discussion of rape in the book.

I enjoy everything that Patricia Briggs writes, and this book is no exception. I love Charles. He is my book boyfriend, and Anna is a particularly strong character because she is thought to be the lowest of the low and yet is especially strong. The ending of this novel is surprisingly wonderful and sets up the next several novels. I'm really excited to see what happens next in this series! I also loved how this story rounds out Leah as a character and finally, finally, brings closure to the Bran/Leah relationship arc. I loved the B plot characters, all of them. They were fabulous. I hope we see more of these guys.

I didn't give it 5 stars because I found the main bad guy to be somewhat...well, odd. I just didn't understand who or what he was. I didn't get the origin tale. Terrifying yes, but I didn't quite get its origin story or how it became a Power in the first place. It felt like a reach and its son's relationship to a real life person didn't hit me right either. That could have been me. Others may feel differently. I will say that the final fight scene was Fantastic. And I love that there is always a tiny itsy bitsy mention of the Mercy-verse just to remind us that these storylines are happening at the same time.

Always a great ride. If you love Anna and Charles, you will love this book.
