Yes! This was a heart throbbing, pacey and juicy psychological suspense novel I needed!!!
Sarah's husband is accused of killing his mistress. And she's his lawyer. Even though Adam cheated on her on their 10th anniversary at the lakehouse where they were supposed to go together (can you believe that?!). But perhaps Sarah wouldn't have won the wife-of-the-year award when she blew off his request to spend time together at the lakehouse because, as usual, she's too concerned with advancing her career. Though at least she has one and isn't wasting her life away as a struggling writer like Adam.
This book was a compulsive listen. I'm so glad I picked up the audiobook version because the narration is expertly done, keeping me wanting to listen to just one more chapter. Not only is it packed with twists, but the final reveal absolutely blew me away.
As a passionate thriller lover, I enjoyed every bit of The Perfect Marriage and all its suspense, cheating, lies, betrayals, murder and relationship drama.
*Thank you to the Publisher for a free advance copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

THE PERFECT MARRIAGE by Jeneva Rose is a story of a broken marriage & a legal thriller. so engaging & gripping- finished in 2 days! I’ll definitely have a ‘book hangover’ from this one. brief synopsis: Sarah is the best criminal defense attorney, while her husband Adam finds himself wrongly accused of murdering his mistress Kelly. legal thriller/mystery ensues, taking place somewhat in DC. often funny, occasionally sexy, & always thrilling! I developed a habit of predicting mysteries but couldn’t predict this one. so many well-developed characters culminate in an unpredictable ending. further, the author is absolutely delightful on bookstagram & also on tiktok. love when a debut is excellent from a fabulous author. thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy of THE PERFECT MARRIAGE, which is published in late December 2020!

Sarah and Adam Morgan have THE perfect marriage - he’s a successful law maker and she’s a flourishing lawyer, they take trips to the countryside to stay in their cabin, and they have their whole life ahead of them. Sadly, their lives come apart as a secret that Adam kept from Sarah comes to the light in a deadly way. Will their marriage survive, and does Sarah even want it to?
💍 𝓜𝔂 𝓣𝓱𝓸𝓾𝓰𝓱𝓽𝓼: This book was a @netgalley Audiobook Arc. I loved this book. There were so many twists and I thought EVERY ONE was guilty! The only thing I would change is the length - I felt a lot of the book could’ve been left out.

This was a good audiobook. The ending came out of leftfield. Just when you think you know the outcome, so many details come to light.

I'm going to be 100% honest here. This book was really good, but I don’t think it lived up to the hype. It didn’t help that I saw this advertised EVERYWHERE saying how amazing it was. I was hesitant to pick it up, but then NetGalley offered the audiobook and I was like yep!
The narrators were great. I would have loved to listen at speed 2.5 but whoever mixed the audio, it would have been too fast for the formatting. No big deal. But the narrators were great and I’m glad I got it on audio.
The story, however, was just okay. The ending didn’t shock me. In fact, I guessed ½ of the ending relatively early on… we’re talking first couple chapters. I only say that because I think I was expecting something crazy and was able to guess that crazy. Kind of the downside when you hear there’s a twist and your mind thinks of all the potential scenarios. Mine just happened to be the only one I stuck with and I was spot on.
I feel bad reviewing this so low. 3 stars usually is a dud to me, but this wasn’t a dud. I do think people will enjoy this a lot more than I did, just don’t go into it expecting the next Gone Girl or other legendary thriller that makes all the headlines.
LAST NOTE! I am excited to see this being made into a movie. Or is it TV show? Either way, I do think it’ll be perfect for the big screen.

The audio for this book is fantastic! I thought it was fantastic that we had both a female voice as well as a male for each part since the book is based on both Adam & Sara. I usually listen at 1.75 or 2 speed & it was stealth easy to follow & understand even after a faster speed. The book itself will keep you on the edge of your seat & is a great suspense novel! Totally recommend it!

What a freaking page turner. Book had me guessing from page to page and I never wanted to put it down. Literally did not see the end coming. At all. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

W.O.W.
This book takes you on one VERY wild ride and I don't even know where to start for this review, other than I loved it. I devoured it. I even set my alarm 45 minutes early two days in a row to get uninterrupted time to read it.
Jeneva Rose...well done! This story hooked me from the first chapter and when I was totally certain I had it figured out...like 100% positive I was right, she turned the story a different direction and I literally was left with my mouth open on the last page.
That rarely happens with thrillers anymore and I am SO excited to see an author bring back the true element of surprise.
I read the book earlier this year, but when I saw on the author's instagram that it was now offered on audio - I had to request it and I am SO GLAD I did! The narrator's voices were on point - almost exactly what I thought they would be as I was reading the book earlier this year.
THANK YOU Netgalley and Dreamscape Media for the audio ARC - I loved reliving this story!

The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose is the kind of book that will make you second guess your ability to judge people. Days after finishing this book, I am still wondering what the heck went down. The ending had me muttering "whaaaa, noooo, reallyyyyy? Oh com'n."
The entire story you are eyeing up suspects as if the whole town was part of one giant conspiracy to commit this murder. And as soon as you think you have it figured out, there's a twist and a punch... and you're back to wondering what is wrong with you.
Some of the characters are quick and witty while some of them are impulsive and thoughtless. You will be rolling your eyes and might even throw the book across the room once or twice out of frustration; how could a suspect be so stupid?
While this whole story is built around a murder trial, the reader doesn't actually get to experience the trial itself. I was a little disappointed by this, especially because there is so much build up to this trial! The whole story is about finding evidence and figuring out who did it! Well, who did it? Read and find out.
PS. Don't let the title fool you; this is one of the most unreliable narrators I have ever experienced... can't trust a damn thing.
Thank you Netgalley and Dreamscape for a copy of this book for review!

I read this book prior to listening to this and let me tell you I did not think that it could get any better. This was hands down one of my favorite books of the year and I love it even more now with listening to the audio. I think that the characters fit the narrator's voice and it was exactly how I expected it to sound. If you have not read/listened to this yet, you really need to!
Thank you to NetGalley and dreamscape media for allowing me to review this audiobook.
Sarah Morgan is a well-known criminal defense attorney. She has made partner at the firm and has everything that she has ever wanted from life. Adam Morgan, not so much, he is struggling on his road to becoming a famous author. Married to Adam for 10 years she is blowing off yet another anniversary date they planned to spend up at their cabin. Adam, not being happy in the relationship has been having an affair with a married woman, Kelly Summers. When Kelly is found dead in their lake house, it is up to Sarah to prove that her husband did not commit the crime. Is Adam truly the killer, or is someone framing him?
This book makes you wonder, can you really trust anyone?

This premise pulled me in immediately. I was sold just from the blurb. Sarah thinks she’s got the perfect marriage. She’s a successful defense attorney, who finds herself in the position of defending her philandering husband for murder, oh wait the murder of his girlfriend! She was found brutally murdered in the marital bed at the couple's cabin and he says he didn’t do it.
This is a twisty domestic thriller that wants to keep you guessing until the very end. The story is told alternating between Sarah the wife/lawyer and Adam the husband/suspect. I loved it at the start because this kind of story is my break and butter. It is exactly what I want to read. I felt some of the characters were just weird (hello, Sarah's assistant and this creepy sheriff). The story certainly had a lull in the middle and I started feeling as if I just wanted to know what happened. The story picked up again towards the last 70 pages and I read it in one sitting to finish it.
I really didn't know who killed the poor girl and never, ever saw the end coming. While I felt it had problems in the writing, and characters, plus a few pacing problems, I still enjoyed it and would recommend it to others looking for a new take on an old story. 3.5 stars.
