This book is tense and thrilling from the first moment. This small town thriller starts with Hannah, a 14-year old babysitter, who witnesses a brutal murder and must flee with an infant in order to save herself and the child. Hannah recognized the voice of the killer, but does not know where she knows him from, and is terrified he will kill her before she figures out who she is.

Police Detective Kylie Millard and her team must race to identify the killer to find Hannah before he does. As she digs deeper into the crime, mysteries of the past relating to her friend Lily Baker's abduction when she was a child surface and Detective Millard must solve more crimes than the original murder.

I love the way these 3 women are portrayed with all their strengths and vulnerabilities. I also love the way the mysteries of the past are unveiled and the plot comes together in an unpredictable yet satisfying way.

Thank you to Netgalley and Thomas & Mercer for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
