Buzz books provides an overview of upcoming publications and includes some extracts.
I love having a list of books being published, so I can plan my reading for the next few months. It's also useful to make sure I don't miss any upcoming books by my favourite authors and it's a great way to discover new authors.
Many thanks to Publishers Lunch and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Love this as I was able to see what was coming up and what to look forward to! This is the definite best way to stay abreast of what is coming up.
I always love the preview for the coming seasons. I found many great titles to check out for spring and summer.
It's always such a treat!
I really enjoyed the Buzz books 2021! It's an awesome way to find out about the titles to watch this coming Spring/Summer, and it was great to read the excerpts of authors I might never have chosen to read otherwise. Great read and resource!
This selection seemed to be heavier than usual on black authors, not surprising these days.
I requested at least 6 novels after going through (most of) this edition. I really liked The Very Nice Box (something I wouldn't have even glanced at ordinarily), but found Seven Days in June to be a great disappointment.
Since BB is always free, it's a wonderful way to sample a wide variety of books without investing time and money in the full length versions.
My thanks to Publishers Lunch and netgalley.com for the ARC.
I am always so excited to see a new Buzz Books digest—and grateful for the chance to read excerpts of a few upcoming books. Thanks, Publishers Lunch!
I absolutely LOVE Buzz Books and look forward to reading it every time it's published. In this edition, I'm excited about the new books from Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney, Lisa Scottoline, and Emma Stone.
Loved this collection of excerpts from upcoming books for the spring/summer, I use it to help me shape my TBR and discover new authors. Thank you!
Great books to look forward to! I always look forward to the novels present in this presentation piece.
Have always enjoyed these at conferences. These are great at giving me a heads up to what I should be reading or recommending.
So many great titles coming this year. My TBR for this year just got longer. I'm super excited for Home Is Not A Country. Love novels in verse.
I always appreciate these Buzz Books editions. I found lots in here that I added to my TBR list. I'm especially looking forward to Naima Coster's new book, as well as Gabriela Garcia's debut.
So many good books coming up .... most probably not enough time for them all. Looking forwards to the Lisa Scottoline and few others. Really enjoy the reading of the books excerpt.
love it love it love it! It's soo good to know the upcoming books so you can start planning your book shopping adventure!
Excellent as always. A really great way to sample up and coming books. Appreciate the variety of genres and quality of choices.
Each time I enjoy reading the excerpts from Buzz books. It gives an excellent overview of the new publications and a wide variety of authors, styles, and topics. It makes it easier to decide what to buy and read in the future. Worth mentioning is the selection of new and first-time published authors which enables me to find new favorites or at least try out some of the newcomers.
Great coverage of upcoming books. A good look into what to expect from upcoming seasons, although I wish it included more YA books (does Pub Lunch still even release YA buzz books?).
This preview of upcoming releases gives you a sneak peek at highlighted titles, just enough to pique your interest and let you get a feel for the book and the author’s writing style. I’m especially interested in reading Northern Spy, Seven Days in June, Morningside Heights, The One Hundred Years of Lenni and Margot, The Lost Apothecary, The First Day of Spring, Facing the Mountain, The Menopause Manifesto and Home Is Not a Country.
While this is not an actual book, it gives a great review of the books to look for this upcoming year. I will be requesting most of these on NetGalley.
‘BUZZ BOOKS 2021 presents passionate readers with an insider’s look at the buzziest books due out this spring [/summer] season.’
Here are a few of the standout-picks I requested from NetGalley, and there are SO many to choose from, be it fiction or non-fiction, and don’t even get me started on some of the awesome cover art:
Kat Chow, SEEING GHOSTS: A MEMOIR
Gareth Worthington, A TIME FOR MONSTERS
Sanjena Sathian, GOLD DIGGERS
Emma Stonex, THE LAMPLIGHTERS
Danielle Henderson, THE UGLY CRY
Daniel James Brown, FACING THE MOUNTAIN
Gregory Brown, THE LOWERING DAYS
I have to admit, I don’t recall having ever read a BUZZ BOOK catalogue featuring up-and-coming books before, but color me excited when NetGalley approved me to read and review it.
I mean, how can a bonafide bibliophile not drool a the mere prospect of possessing a gold mine such as this, that includes summaries, excerpts, and conveniently placed request links of new releases for NetGalley reviewers.
Will I and fellow reviewers get approved for every request we wholeheartedly hope for? Nope! I equate that feeling to the Sears and Roebuck Christmas catalogs of yesteryear filled with all the toys our little hearts desired. Did I get everything I wanted on my list to St. Nick?
Nope! Did it sting? Yup, a little bit. I never did get that Barbie Dream House I asked him for year after year. *sniff*
Sorry, I went off on a tangent…
It’s important to note; you don’t have to be a book reviewer to take advantage of this catalog and be in the know of new releases, free as an eBook on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, which includes summaries, excerpts, and pre-order links for each book.
The only question left is, what are you waiting for? Check It Out!
Thank you, NetGalley and Publishers Lunch, for loaning me an eBook of BUZZ BOOK 2021 in the request of an honest review.
