As a busy working mom, I was hooked by Murder Girl by Lisa Renee Jones from the very first page! This gripping thriller follows the journey of a young woman caught in a web of mystery and danger, as she navigates the complexities of her past while uncovering dark secrets.

Jones masterfully weaves suspense and emotion throughout the story, creating a fast-paced narrative that kept me on the edge of my seat. The character development is impressive, allowing me to connect with the protagonist as she faces her fears and fights for justice.

Final Thoughts:
Murder Girl is an exhilarating, page-turning read perfect for moms looking for a captivating escape. It's a thrilling reminder that sometimes the truth can be more dangerous than we expect, making it a must-read for any mystery lover!

Lilah Love is an absolutely brilliant FBI profiler. She is able to see inside the minds of the depraved individuals that commit heinous crimes. She is on the case of a crime that seems to be targeting her and a secret she holds dear to heart. Absolutely brilliant second book in the series. Cannot wait to see where the next book takes Lilah.

I am sorry for the lack of a stellar review, but I don’t think these books are the right fit for me at this time. I'm not really a fan of romance mixed with thrillers and would hate to have a preconceived bias toward this story before reading it. I wouldn't want my review to be tainted because of that. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

The questions left open in the previous book - Murder Notes -, are answered in this second book of the series. Lilah is a brilliant FBI profiler but the cases she gets involved in just keep on resulting in more death, stalkers, and more mystery. Also, her relationship with Kane is not clear enough as they seem to be on and off. The mystery deepens and it seems things will be clearer in the next book. So I'll keep on reading!

This is the second book in the Lilah love series and brings more to light of past secrets and present danger. Romance and suspense with mystery.
Ebook from Netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.

Lilah Love is a twenty-eight-year-old FBI profiler working on murder investigations in California. She is called in to investigate brutal killings taking place in various parts of the country. Each killing is tied to a mysterious tattoo that she is only too familiar with. The killer is leading her straight to her hometown -a small community filled with long-buried secrets. This starts off right where book one, 'Murder Notes', ended. I would recommend reading these in order as the plot, the characters and their connections may be confusing though the author provides a summary of the action so far.

Reading Murder Girl I continued to enjoy the steady and unrushed pace and the characterisation of Lilah who was certainly a tough cookie with a strong mind. The mystery itself was intriguing and well done. As well as 'Murder Notes' I have previously read 'A Perfect Lie' by Lisa Renee Jones as well as the first in her 'Filthy' trilogy ('The Bastard').

I thought book one was good, but Murder Girl is equally so, and even though Lilah has a killer instinct, a stalker, her family, and her ex-boyfriend make focusing immensely hard. 'Murder Notes' ended with a cliffhanger, but this instalment, Murder Girl with its poised balance of intrigue, edginess, and raw emotion ends with a bit more completion. An enthralling, dark deeply enjoyable read, well worth five stars.

Gotta love Lila Love. She’s tuff, a FBI agent and so so so attracted to a Man that is just not the one for her. But what the heck, he rocks her boat! But can he keep her alive, or can she manage that all on her own? If you like suspense, strong heroines an tall dark and sexy this is the book for you! Edge of the seat reading

I really wish Ghost had a spin-off series... Ghost is the only reason I am giving this book two stars, because he made this read worthwhile. Other than that - it's still more of a romance IMO than a thriller and still too "soft" for me. I am not really into heteronormative romances anymore and this one was... very hetero.

This book starts immediately after the last, which I would appreciate except that once again, there is no ending. Just write the book! Finish it!
I still don’t like the protagonist and I’m not in love with the plot.

Murder Girl (Lilah Love #2). By Lisa Renee Jones. 2020. Julie Patra Publishing. (eBook ARC).

In Murder Girl, FBI profiler Lilah Love is still in the Hamptons working to solve a string of murders she believes is the work of an assassin. But her hometown advantage is practically non-existent as her gubernatorial candidate father and police chief brother push her to wrap up the cases with a fall guy and to stop making waves. While Lilah refuses to relent, she also has to tread carefully in order to keep attention away from her and her ex, Kane Mendez; as the murders appear to be tied to the violent event that had Lilah fleeing to LA and the FBI, and Kane covering up for her.

Murder Girl picks up right after Murder Notes and both are well written and very engaging with twists and turns. Lilah and Kane are darkly appealing and while some questions are answered, there are plenty more rolled out to keep you reading the series. I am definitely invested in learning how the Lilah Love series ends.

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

After feeling forced to read this book after the first in the series ended mid scene, I did get back into the story and found myself enjoying reading. I didn’t think the author would leave on another complete cliffhanger but I was wrong. Though I would enjoy reading more in the series, I’d prefer to do so on my own terms so this just feels manipulative and is off putting.

I definitely liked this more than the first book in the series.
The dialogue was great and far better in proportion to the description/internal thoughts of this book. It's much more dialogue so the whole plot of the book just flowed so much better! Genuinely, this one change improved so many aspects of this book.
The characters were still not great but you did get more backstory/personal development in this book. The relationship was definitely improved a lot too and found myself rooting for them much more, which made Kane grow on me, even if he did basically become a glorified shield for Lilah. I still don't really like Lilah because she still sucks at her job but is praised like she is amazing at it, and she is bitchy but everyone just accepts it? Like please call her out on her crappy treatment of people!!
I found the ending kind of unsatisfying. I understand it was done to keep a flowing plot through the books in the series even though this part of the story arc ended, but it was an unsatisfying ending in the sense of murder mysteries.

Overall, still not great but a serious improvement on the book before this in the series. I am going to start the next one now so I hope it only gets better with each installment.

This is the face paced continuation of Murder Notes. If you read Murder Notes a while back, don’t worry as the author provides a well encapsulated synopsis of book one to bring you up to speed. Lilah continues to be her unapologetic, badass self in her hunt for killers and answers. Kane is her secretive, protective and unbelievably patient anti-hero. As the body count rises, Lilah can trust no one, except Kane who understands and loves the unvarished Lilah – with and without the civility of her badge. While some questions are answered in this book, many more questions and suspicions crop up. Bring on book 3!

Another favorite by a great author. The plot of the story was very well written. The author really draws the reader in as you read. I felt like I was an unnamed character in the story.

Gosh i love this author! This book doesn't slow down, just keeps pushing you and keeps you wondering, guessing. And her heroes are always a bit of an antihero which is something I really love. He's a bad boy but he's crazy about her, and he's got such a foul mouth! Omg! It's ass editing ass everything else! #netgalley #murdergirl
