I absolutely love Phillipa Ashley’s books and this one certainly did not disappoint. The setting in Cornwall is perfect along with the brilliant characters we meet within the pages.
Rose is the main character who goes on a long journey in more ways than one. She moves to Cornwall and starts to make friendships and meeting new people. I loved every page and was sad to come to the end.
I thoroughly recommend this book for a wonderful feel good read.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for an advance copy of this book. I really enjoyed this book and engaged with the characters particularly Rose. It transported me to beautiful Cornwall and was a badly needed escape. I have read quite a few of Phillipa’s books and this did not disappoint. Beautifully written with well rounded and believable characters, highly recommended!

A woman on a mission of both self-discovery and the man who quite literally saved her life with a bone marrow donation; that’s the premise that got me hooked into reading this little gem of a book. Rose Vernon is just that person and having recently lost her grandmother and been given an archeology grant opportunity in Cornwall, what’s not a better way to find her donor along the way.
Rose quickly gets mixed into the quaint yet bustling seaside village of Falford, Cornwall and meets two completely attractive and polar opposite brothers Finn and Joey. They make a living building custom boats for local and pocket-heavy clients, and they just might be the answers to the elusive question: who exactly is Rose’s donor? While I don’t normally enjoy a love triangle of sorts, I think this author handled it almost to perfection with Finn and Joey being equally drawn to the elusive Rose.
What really pushed my enjoyment of this book for me was the quirky and diverse cast of characters that make up Rose’s new local friends including Oriel (who runs the local hippie tourist store), Oriel’s girlfriend Naomi, Bo (the cafe and diner owner), Dorinda (Finn and Joey’s tough-as-nails mum), Auntie Lynne and her alien-conspiracy believing boyfriend Nigel, and Maddie (Rose’s best friend from back home in Cambridge). I just loved and at times was frustrated by, but ultimately rooted for this group of loveable weirdos that Phillipa Ashley managed to believably create.
My only issue with this books is that at times it got so bogged down in the jargon and accuracy of both the sailing and archeology aspects of the story, that it slowed the pacing of the book a bit. Also, by the time it hit the 80% mark, it felt like things should have been wrapped up and then I realized that she hadn’t found out her almost complete reasoning for being there in the first place (the donor of course!). Her getting so wrapped up in other parts of the story left a bit to be desired with finding out both the donor and who Rose ultimately ends up with. If it had a tighter storyline at the end, I might of given it a higher rating.
Overall though, I am just an absolute sucker for anything set in or to do with in any way, shape or form Cornwall, be it a book, tv show or movie, you will have me right there. I am definitely going to check out more from this author, especially the next book in this series, which is centred around the cafe owner Bo, who we got just a little taste of who her mystery man is at the end.
Archaeologist Rose goes to work on a dig in Cornwall secretly looking for a stranger who saved her life. After severe illness and the loss of her beloved grandma she takes the opportunity to travel to Falford with both hands. There, she is met by a warm and tightknit community of unique characters who provide shelter, friendship, romance and an eagerness to teach Rose everything about her new surroundings.
The Morvah brothers who own the local boat yard hold a special significance for Rose. However, despite growing feelings for one of them, she holds a secret close to her heart that could change everything.
This latest novel from Phillippa Ashley was such a treat, filled with mystery, romance, sailing the Cornish coast and delving into the folklore of this magical place. An Endless Cornish Summer captures everything great about Cornwall and leaves you with a warm, fuzzy feeling.
The writing is beautiful and incredibly well researched making the story informative as well as romantic and mysterious. Main character Rose has a friendly, optimistic nature which draws you in and the friends she makes are just as engaging.
This is one of my favourite reads this Summer.
For Rose, every day is a gift. She narrowly survived a life-threatening illness and owes everything to her anonymous donor. Determined to thank him, Rose follows a trail of clues that lead her to the little Cornish fishing village of Falford.
But things become complicated when Rose is drawn into local life, becoming involved in the legendary Falford Regatta and meeting the handsome Morvah brothers – one of whom might just be the man she’s looking for. But which one?
Can Rose find the answer she’s searching for, or will she lose her heart before the summer is over?
Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this.
I really enjoyed this book! It wasnt a run of the mill love story. Rose doesnt work in a bakery/flower shop/tearoom etc. There was of course the love interest along with a brother (which one will she choose?) Will she stay or return home after the summer? Will she ever get out of the smallest flat in the world?.......So many questions! Ultimately this is a fell good book, a 'make you smile' book a 'make your heart melt a little' book. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
If you need a summer escape, look no further than the Cornish village of Falford. Rose is an archeologist who has lived through her share of hard times. She’s fighting back from a horrible illness where she received the gift of life from an anonymous living donor. Her summer and job leads her to the small village to track down her donor. Rose meets and befriends some of the locals, including the gorgeous Morvah brothers. Could someone she’s recently met and fallen in love with be her donor who saved her? Dive into this book that is just as charming as it’s setting and characters. I really enjoyed everything about this book, especially the characters. I found myself feeling very connected and as if I was part of the small town as well.
If you want to experience Cornwall and the sea without getting your feet wet, then this book does it in abundance. I learned just as much about sailing as I did about stone circles and the legends. Phillipa Ashley had me caring about the main character Rose from the outset and even if some of the characters were slightly full of themselves, as the story goes on you can sort of start to like them too!
Rose heads to Cornwall to find the man who saved her life.
There she meets some lovely people and maybe she will find love .
A great book you will love it.
A great summer book
Thanks NetGalley
4 years ago Rose had a successful Stem cell transplant. After her grandmother's death she is given a letter written by Granny Marge suggesting that she should find her donor.
She traces her donor to Falford in Cornwall, it is probably one of two brothers but which one? A journey of discovery with beautiful scenery and myths & legends along the way.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for my copy of An Endless Cornish Summer by Phillipa Ashley in exchange for an honest review. It published June 24, 2021.
This fits right in with others written by Phillipa Ashley and a wonderful return for a summer "trip" to Cornwall. I really enjoyed the atmospheric scenery and I really enjoyed the local legends and archeology and you can tell the research that was done!
An Endless Cornish Summer by Phillipa Ashley has Rose who is working in Cornwall for the summer so that she can try to find the man who saved her life. She had a rare blood issue and a bone marrow transplant saved her life. She wrote to thank the donor, and got a postcard back, and so she's come to the place from the postcard!
Rose joins in community life, and is also working locally as she's an archaeologist, and has a dig nearby. She's still on the lookout for her donor, and thinks it's one of the local boat building brothers. But how is she going to find out?
This is the story about finding happiness, and has beautiful descriptions of Cornwall. It is an uplifting romance, and was lovely to read.
An Endless Cornish Summer was published on 24th June 2021 and is available from Amazon , Waterstones and Bookshop.org .

I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review, so my thanks to NetGalley and to Avon Books UK .
Another great Phillipa Ashley book! I have really enjoyed some of her other stories so was looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint. Set in a wonderful part of the world (I also live in the West Country so am a little bias!), Phillipa sets the scene and describes Falford so well. I know of local communities such as this and could really picture the place so well.
Rose has been through a lot and seems so lovely that you really want things to go well for her. Plenty happens over the time she spends in the village and I was never quite sure which way the story was going to go. I had my suspicions but couldn't quite be sure! Alongside Rose, Finn and Joey, there are such characters in this book, so many of which were so well described that I really felt as though I wanted to get in the car, drive to Falford and have a drink in the Ferryman's or a coffee at Bo's! I won't spoil your enjoyment of the book by telling you how things turn out but trust me - you should read it yourself to find out! As for myself, I'm off to find another Phillipa Ashley book to read.....
Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for allowing me to read this in exchange for a honest review, which is what I have given.
I love Phillipa Ashley books and this fun, romantic, summer story was no exception!
I really enjoyed the character's backstory and motivations, and the cast of characters she came across. As with all Phillipa Ashley's Cornish books, I finished with the desire to move to a small Cornish town immediately.
I really enjoyed An Endless Cornish Summer by Phillipa Ashley that was easy to read, perfect to get me hooked in and fab twists and turns. Having recently been on holiday to Cornwall it was nice to read of some places I recognised too.
I enjoyed this book, its just not the most memorable one I've read. The characters are well the developed and the plot is interesting enough to keep you reading until the end because you do want to know who Rose's donor is. I do hope that this book highlights the importance of stem cell donation and how it can save somebody's life.
a lovely easy book to read with a good story line and a happy ending with every day normal life and activities in alittle village or town down south very enjoyable and a good read
I really enjoyed this book. I felt like I'd been transported to Cornwall when I was reading and could picture Falford Creek. I wish I could visit. I really enjoyed the transplant aspect of the book, which can only raise awareness for the need for more people to sign up on the register. I look forward to more books by Phillipa in the future.
Another excellent story by Philippa Ashley. It's entertaining, heartwarming and poignant.
I loved the characters, rooted for them and thoroughly enjoyed this story.
Good character and plot development, a lovely setting.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
Rose, a young archeology student, gets diagnosed with aplastic anaemia. She is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant and after a thorough search all over the UK, a donor is found. Rose receives her transplant and once recovered, she starts her PhD and is desperate to thank her donor for the life she can continue living, in person as opposed to the anonymous letter and postcard.
Following the clue at the back of the postcard, she departs to Cornwall where it is impossible to miss the Morvah brothers at the marine. Judging by the immediate strong connection and if the picture on the postcard is anything to go by, one of them is bound to be the donor. Which one, though?
#AnEndlessCornishSummer is a lovely romance and adventure. I couldn't have enough of the two main characters.
Thank you #Netgalley and publishers for a free copy of this book.
