Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I honestly didn't expect to like this book so much-- purely because I'm tired of liberal politics. This book does a great job of highlighting community workers and mobilizers (Stacey Abrams, Malala, Eufrosina Cruz) from various backgrounds with sufficient context to inspire US and Western children. Personally, I'd have had a hard time parsing a lot of American historical references to provide me with sufficient context but I would've loved it either way. I have a little trouble reconciling with placement of girl-boss feminists (Kamala Harris, Mary Barra) alongside definitive heroes like Harriet Tubman, but I can leave my personal scruples aside. Would recommend to all my cousins and nieces and nephews.

‘Rebel Girls Lead’ -Rebel Girls
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“The women in this book started out just like you. They were kids who had dreams and fears, hopes and questions.”

I for one am rejoicing in this empowering literature that inspires and motivates the young girls of today to be the next generation of successful, independent women of tomorrow. As a teacher, I have always been an advocate of ‘reach for the moon, even if you miss, you will fall among the stars.’

In this beautifully illustrated book (all of which were designed by different females from across the globe) we learn of influential women, with a range of diversity; celebrating rich culture, ambition and self-belief. They each tell their stories of overcoming adversity, which intricately weaves an important message of resilience and blazing your own path- being autonomous in your decisions and always setting your aspirations high despite seemingly debilitating limitations.

It provides ample opportunity to light a spark and passion for a range of occupations that previously might’ve been perceived as unattainable; Chancellor, Mayor, CEO, Activist and so many more. It reinforces that you CAN be whoever you want to be; the countless hopes and dreams this book has the ability to ignite is something utterly magical.

Thank you to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for this outstanding ARC.

I loved reading about all the women in this latest instalment of the series. Some of them I already knew about but most I had never heard of so I'm glad I have now learned about their incredible lives. With the beautiful and eye-catching illustrations this is definitely one I will buy for all the young people in my life!

I love this book series so I was a little disappointed to see that this new volume is mostly a compilation of previously published works. If you already own the other volumes, this one is not a must-have but is still nice for a one time read. The quiz and activism prompts at the end are a nice touch.

This mini Rebel book is perfect for exploring the stories of a diverse range of inspirational leaders from Kamala Harris to Cleopatra. It was great to read the stories of less well known women too. This will undoubtedly be a popular choice in the book corner. Another great title from Rebel Girls.

This was a wonderful book for young children to learn about the accomplishments of diverse women such as Kamala Harris, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Lady Gaga, Aly Raisman, Malala Yousafzai, Pat Summitt, and Leymah Gbowee, to name a few. These dynamic women became leaders in many different ways and never gave up; some even risked their lives for their beliefs. The women’s short biographies were accompanied by beautiful illustrations and one of their many inspirational quotes.

I think young children will find this book empowering, informative, and motivational. A few pages at the end of the book provided an opportunity for children to write their own story and complete exercises about leadership training. My nieces love this series and will be excited when this book gets delivered to them.
As with the other Rebel Girls books, this would be an asset to any classroom or home library.

Loving the Rebel Girls series! What a fun take a biography, written in small chunks for quick nighttime stories. It focuses on more updated rebels, as well as our classic rebels.

Written in fairytale style, tweens will learn about 25 lady rebels -- Aly Raisman, Angela Merkel, Ann Richards, Cleopatra, Queen Elizabeth I, Eufrosina Cruz, Giusi Nicolini, Harriet Tubman, Jacinda Ardern, Kamala Harris, Lady Gaga, Leymah Gbowee, Malala Yousafzai, Mary Barra, Melinda Gates, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Pat Summitt, Rigoberta Menchu Tum, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, Stacey Abrams, Tammy Duckworth, Wilma Mankiller, Xiye Bastida.

Each page offers a description of the rebel, as well as a portrait of that lady, created by a female illustrator! How cool! There are pages dedicated at the end for readers to write their own stories, draw their self-portraits, and take quizzes.

Definitely a great gift for any little rebel in your life!

Thank you, NetGalley, for the opportunity to read this book, in exchange for my opinion.

I have loved everything Rebel Girls has published. The illustrations are beautiful and it's a great way to learn more about women in all parts of history and all over the world. This short collection was no exception. I highly recommend this to anyone of any age!

This book gives a one page story about the 25 women who are leaders. Each story is paired with an illustration; these illustrations are by different female artists from all over the world. There are pages for readers to write their own stories and answer some questions.

I am not the target demographic but have been reading kids books for gift buying. I would definitely consider buying this for a young female reader. The stories are quite short, so I would hope this leads to wanting to know more about some of the leaders.

This is a very informative book about 25 female leaders; from Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Pat Summit to lesser known leaders such as Eufrosina Cruz (Activist and Politician) and Xiye Bastida (Climate Activist).

A bio is included in each leader alongside a beautiful portrait that was created by women. The writing is clear and concise and provides just the right amount of information that a young leader would find insightful.

At the end of the book, readers can write their own story, draw a portrait and even take a short quiz to determine what type of leader they could be. It’s a great way to reflect on the story and perhaps motivate young minds to the possibilities of leadership.

I think this is a great book for middle grade students and many thanks to NetGalley and Rebel Girls for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Great intro to 25 incredible women from all over the world and throughout history! Some of the stories feel overly simplified, but they all end on inspiring and encouraging notes about the power women have to affect change. I also thought the activities at the end were a great way for girls to continue internalizing some of the lessons and character traits that were highlighted.

A great selection of women in this book, however, I wish there was even more diversity. There were not many Asian women in this book. The pictures were great but not all the same type of picture, all of which are not photographs. Some were obviously not true to the nature of the person and some were trying very hard to be photorealistic. I would still purchase a physical copy for my daughter to read.

100% recommend! Loved this illustrated book featuring one pagers of powerful women. I appreciated the diversity of stories - it was a great mix of famous women who you know & love as well as others that are more "under the radar." Lastly, the illustrations submitted from female artists around the world was the icing on the cake. This book should be required in all schools & household!

When I saw that I had been offered the opportunity to preview another book in the Rebel Girls series I was delighted.

These books maybe relatively short but are ideal for educating young children about women who have changed history and this book is no exception. From Cleopatra to Harriet Tubman, or Jacinda Ardern to Kamala Harris? This book gives wonderful incite to twenty five women who have changed history and paved the way for others in the future.

With stunning artwork from 25 female artists, the youngest being only nine years of age, 𝘙𝘦𝘣𝘦𝘭 𝘎𝘪𝘳𝘭𝘴 𝘓𝘦𝘢𝘥 25 𝘛𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘯 is a fantastic, bright and engaging book and a wonderful addition to the Rebel Girls franchise.

Once you have read about these fascinating women, there is space for your story and portrait as well as a quiz that tells you what kind of leader you would be which is an excellent way of engaging the young reader,

Thank you to @Netgalley, @RebelGirls as well as @SimonandShuster for my arc copy - I thoroughly enjoyed learning a little more about these women.

A short but wonderfully important book. I do love this entire series of books and this one is no different. It’s a book I have already shared with my 11 year old daughter who always needs good, positive role models to lookup to. And you can’t go wrong with this bang up to date book that is also highlighting Kamala Harris, who hasn’t even taken up post officially yet. Another one to add to the collection.

This was a great book that talked about female leaders and many people who have made an impact in history. Such as Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama, and many others. I highly recommend reading this book.

My daughter and I read ‘Rebel Girls Lead’ together and we LOVED this one! With the exception of a few women, most of the selection are contemporary women which was really inspiring to see because my daughter kept remarking how many women are breaking barriers in government and business today, which made me smile. I loved choices like Kamala Harris and Melinda Gates, but also really loved some of the lesser known names such as Eufrosina Cruz. As a person of color, it’s heartening to see women of all ages and colors represented here and to see their accomplishments shine.

My daughter, age 11, would like to point out that she especially loved the quiz at the end of the book, the beautiful and colorful illustrations (I concur, gorgeous!), and the area to write and draw your own story. Also, the tips at the end to becoming a leader were inspiring and practical, and as a parent, makes me want to always support the Rebel series. Thank you for showing our girls (and boys) how awesome women and girls all over the world are and Keats have been.!

Thank you to Rebel Girls and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!
