I simply love these samplers! There are so many incredible and diverse books on here. I'm especially excited to read Angel of Greenwood, Lost in the Never Woods, The Awakening of Malcolm X, and The Fire Keeper’s Daughter.

The organization of this digital file made it very difficult to track which exerpt I was reading and The Awakening of Malcolm X was impossible to read with the formatting issues (though based on the synopsis I found elsewhere it looks very interesting). I'm especially excited to get my hands on Lost in the Never Woods & The Half Orphan Handbook though.

A fantastic collection of highly anticipated YA novels coming in 2021. The collection provided the first three chapters of an assortment of genres including Fantasy, Contemporary, Historical, Thriller, and Sequels. I was already excited for a few of these novels but after reading the sneak peaks I have added a few more. This collection included previews from the following:
Lost in the Never Woods (Fantasy) - A Peter Pan retelling-This one is the top of my must read YA list for 2021.
What Big Teeth (Fantasy) - A girl learning to embrace her family of monsters as well as herself.
The Half Orphans Handbook (Contemporary) - A teen dealing with the trauma of her father’s suicide.
The Mirror Season (Contemporary) - Two teens sexually assaulted at the same party form a friendship.
Angel of Greenwood (Historical) – A sixteen year old black teen and her family living in Tulsa, OK during the Greenwood Massacre of 1921.
The Awakening of Malcom X (Historical) - A narrative account of the activist's adolescent years in jail; co-written by his daughter Ilyasah Shabazz and author Tiffany D. Jackson.
The Forest of Stolen Girls (Historical) - Set in 1426, Joseon (Korea); A young girl picks up her father’s investigation of missing girls after he disappears.
Firekeepers Daughter (Thriller) - A biracial teen assists FBI in stopping a lethal drug destroying her Native American community. I had already read this novel and it is fantastic...a must read!
The Mary Shelley Club (Thriller) - A teen is recruited into a club with an obsession for horror which turns deadly.
What Beauty There Is (Thriller) - A boy struggling to keep his brother from foster care seeks the drug money his father went to prison for with the help of an unusual and broken girl.
All the Tides of Fate (Sequel) - A high seas adventure; the second novel in the All the Stars and Teeth Duology
City of Spells (Sequel) - A world on the brink of war; the follow up to Into the Crooked Place
We Free the Stars (Sequel) - Ancient Arabian setting; conclusion to the Sands of Arawiya duology.
So many must reads to add to your TBR for 2021!

These samplers are so helpful! I still love a great YA novel, and so many of these look amazing! I'm especially draw to City of Spells, The Half Orphan's Handbook, and Firekeepers's Daughter.

I can't wait for these books. I have been waiting a long time for some of them and i wished i could already read them!

Looks like readwise the winter of 2021 is going to be a good one! I've already applied for some of these books, and even though sadly, I was rejected for some of them, I am going to check them out once they're published.
I am especially looking forward to What Big Teeth, Lost In the Never Woods and The Mary Shelley Club, but I am also excited for all the other books, since they did a pretty good job at presenting themselves and I can't wait for them to be published!

I love the option to read a sampler of some of my favorite upcoming sequels, favorite authors and new books that are coming out.
Thank you for giving me a sneak peek at some of 2021's new releases! I'm looking forward to so many of them already and reading the samples just generates more excitement.

I'm not really sure how to rate this, but I'll go with three stars because
1) I downloaded it in order to read the first few chapters of some of the included books to see if I wanted to buy them,
2) turns out I don't want to buy them, other than the three sequels to the books I already own,
3) I didn't enjoy any of the other samples, and
4) Knowing that, I won't buy those books and end up disappointed.

So I didn't enjoy this, but it was useful and served its purpose.

I really enjoyed the ability to preview the first three chapters of these upcoming books. While not every book included in the sampler was for me, I do plan to pick up Lost In The Never Woods, and The Mirror Season when they hit the shelves next year.

I really enjoyed reading this collection of sample chapters for upcoming 2021 releases! Personally, I’m really excited for The Mirror Season, Lost in the Never Woods, The Fire Keeper’s Daughter, and The Forest of Stolen Girls. I had not previously heard about The Half-Orphan’s Handbook and What Big Teeth, but I was spellbound by them! I will definitely be adding them to my TBR and look forward to reading many of these books in 2021. Thank you so much to Macmillan for the opportunity to read this sampler of Winter 2021 releases!

My fav was What Big Teeth and the Malcolm X one.

This is an excellent sneak peek into some of 2021’s most exciting young adult releases from Macmillan. I hate to miss these as nothing can quite pique your interest as much as a few sample chapters to whet the appetite and have you pining for release day! I have certainly added most of these to MOUNT TBR. A superb choice and varied selection with something here for everyone to try.

Love samplers!! This only made me want to read The Mary Shelly Club even more. I also stumbled across a few others that have peaked my interest. 2021 is going to be a wonderful reading year.

A brilliant sampler showcasing some awesome upcoming reads. My standouts were The Forest of Stolen Girls, Lost in the Never Woods, Firekeeper’s Daughter and The Mirror Season.

I loved having samples of all these upcoming books! Helped me cross off ones that actually didn’t catch my attention and opened up my eyes to books I wouldn’t have normally picked up, but now can’t wait to read!
