After reading the description, I was so excited to read this book. Being from Portland myself, I couldn’t help but laugh at how realistic the concept is for this city, despite it sounding outrageous. Cade and Selena make a hilarious opposites attract duo, and I loved their interactions and chemistry.

I loved their journey together, and I don’t just mean the love story. The characters grew on their own as much as they grew together which was great to see. I also appreciated that while this is romance and of course has a HEA, it wasn’t cliche and obvious.

The only thing that I struggled with in this book was the amount of distracting/random dialogue in the first half. The quirky remarks from Selena and her friends were integral to their character development, but at times it felt like it distracted from the plot and conversation at hand. I did not feel like this was as apparent after about 50%, which was when I really got into the book.

Overall I definitely recommend Satisfaction Guaranteed to anyone looking for a quirky rom-com that is guaranteed to make you laugh.

CW: parental abandonment, parental neglect, past emotionally abusive relationship (power/dynamic issues as well), past gaslighting

I would recommend this one if you're looking for (SPOILERS)
-f/f frenemies to lovers
-opposites attract
-grump/sunshine
-workplace romance, close-proximity
-slow burrrrn
-found family
-sex education
-sex toy shop
-flirting through accounting

This was a joy to read. It was so difficult to put down and go on with my life I just wanted to keep picking it up. This book was light, funny, and so so tender. All about finding that person that sees you, accepts you, loves you for the things that you may even dislike about yourself. The way it describes those tingly feelings when you have a crush on a person. How badly you want to hold their hand, remember just getting to touch them, hug them, being in their presence. I may have a bit of a crush on this book.

The sex-positivity, the diversity, the elements, and importance of found family. Sexuality is a spectrum and this book looks at it in such a beautiful light, all while being sensitive and having humor. I loved the setting of the sex shop. I adored Cade and Selena for completely different reasons but enjoyed them even more together. Their chemistry, watching their relationship build. The consent, the respect, all of it was just * chef's kiss*. This slow burn pays off in the best way and I was left just wanting more of Selena and Cade. The ending was so beautifully done and wrapped up their story so well.

Honestly, all I can say is if you want a joyful story full of tenderness, flirting and some sex toys snatch this one up.

Satisfaction Guaranteed indeed! The romance between Cade and Selena has odd couple vibes that makes for some excellent romantic and sexual tension while they figure out both the future of the sex toy shop they were jointly bequeathed and what they want from life and love. The romance is complemented really well by the plot, which is interesting and compelling in its own right. I loved the sex positivity woven throughout both for people who are very sexually active and for those who aren't. It was very affirming and even wove in real life facts about sex and sexuality. The use of metaphor was really lovely and helped lift the story off the page - I couldn't stop reading and nearly read it all in one sitting!

Probably the only aspects lacking for me was diversity. Racial diversity in particular was lacking and there was some cis-gender-normative stuff that equated sex organs with gender.

Overall, it was a great story and a very enjoyable read! Thank you to Netgalley & for an e-arc in exchange for my honest review!

Representation: bisexual main character, lesbian main character, midsize/curvy main character, many queer side characters

Content warnings: Some commentary on "healthy" foods, equating gender with sex organs (e.g. saying women instead of people with vaginas/vulvas)

Great queer rep in this. I loved the characters and the romance and I wish LGBTQ+ relationships were talked about more like the relationship in this story.

There are so many of my favorite tropes in this book. Slowburn strangers to friends to lovers, stuck up plan for life gf vs loose go with the flow gf, and we-only-met-a-month-ago-but-the-wedding-is-in-motion. Selena and Cade are honestly soulmates and I love their relationship so much.

This book is incredibly sex positive, with the main setting being the sex shop that Selena and Cade co-own after the death of Cade’s aunt. Selena is celibate in an attempt to take care of herself and be a more together adult, and Cade is a little uptight and scared of relationships. They way the author navigates their conversations about consent and the varying degrees of acceptable intimacy is really well done.

This is the perfect wlw romance book, it’s so lighthearted and lovely. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who loves sapphic romance but doesn’t want the sad undertones that seem to perforate the genre.

Satisfaction Guaranteed by Karelia Stetz-Waters, a romcom about two very different women who inherit a bankrupt sex toy shop and the mission to save it, promised me a fun read and it delivered! The story is unlike anything I have ever read, and it was very interesting to see a love story play out in this kind of setting. I liked the alternating perspective chapters for Cade and Selena as they get to know each other.

The only real issue I had with this book was that the characters seemed a bit one-dimensional for quite a bit of the book. Cade was always uptight and guarded and Selena was always eccentric and outgoing. It felt a bit repetitive and lacked a depth I like in my favorite characters. As the novel went on I warmed to them more, and did care for their relationship.

My favorite thing about this book is the representation. Not only is it representative of WLW, it doesn’t shy away from their sex lives, or lack of sex lives. Satisfaction Guaranteed lets women talk about sex without fetishizing lesbianism. It felt organic. I also loved how one of the main characters wasn’t very experienced despite being 29 years old. It normalizes an insecurity a lot of people have and it’s cool to see that represented in a book– especially a romance!

All in all, Satisfaction Guaranteed is a quick and enjoyable read for anyone looking for a cute love story in an unconventional setting.

This book was a pleasant surprise! With great reviews on Goodreads, I'm not sure I was surprised, but this book was the perfect mix of quirky and edgy and sweet and lovable. it kept me entertained and interested, and definitely pulling for our two heroines to find their HEA.

When buttoned-up (*cough* uptight *cough*) inherits half of her Aunt's sex toy shop, which is on the brink of bankruptcy, she thinks things can't get worse. Except the other of half of her Aunt's shop (and property) when to Selena, who knows nothing about business, but is passionate, and lovable, and, well, devastatingly attractive. But has also taken a (hopefully temporary) vow of celibacy. Whereas Case's streak of celibacy is less... self-imposed. Together, can these two turn around the shop? Or will their mutual artistic passions bring them closer together?

I really, really enjoyed this one. It was extremely #sexpositive and a little bit opposites attract, forced proximity magic. Everyone needs a Selena to bring their life joy and Cade to do their taxes (just kidding--Cade brings joy, too).

Thanks for Forever and NetGalley for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

When the extremely buttoned-up Cade inherits her aunt’s sex toy store she has to figure out how to save the shop with her new wild and free business partner Selena. I enjoyed both of the characters and the overall arc of the story. The setting of the store made for a lot of interesting and open conversations about sex. I also enjoyed how both characters were already out and the tension and conflict wasn’t because of their sexuality. Cade and Selena both had important personal journeys that they were going on throughout the story which added some nice depth.

I liked the chemistry between Cade and Selena, but I wish it went a little bit further. I just wasn’t head over heels in love with them as a couple. Something that took me out of the story a bit was how repetitive it felt at times. There would be inconsequential details that were mentioned multiple times in both character’s POV or certain descriptions that were used over and over within the same chapter.

While this didn’t end up being my new favorite sapphic romcom, I still had a fun time reading it. I think it’s worth checking out if the synopsis interests you.

This book is so, so sweet. I loved the way the character wrote both MC’s because it felt like you knew them. The banter was witty, sexy, and just ugh so sweet. The Steam was just right. Strap on scene hello!! But most importantly I think the theme throughout the book of finding your true self and how powerful that can be was written so well. Both Cade and Selena are going through their own journeys of figuring that out and when their journeys intersect, it tugs at your heartstrings. l also loved the way female sexuality and just sexuality in general was discussed.

This book would make a great Beach read. Cade and Selena are the best company.

This is a delightful treasure of a story. If you are looking for a sweet, sex positive, funny, heartwarming, mainstream f/f romance, this book is for you. Cade is a responsible, sweater vest wearing, businesswoman who manages her parents very successful gallery in NYC. She is also insecure, sweet and has had limited sexual experiences. When her nudist, wildflower aunt passes away in Portland she leaves Cade half of her Feminist Sex Toy shop called Satisfaction Guaranteed. (Laughed every time I read the name.) The shop is financially insolvent and Cade only has a month to turn it around or it will be sold to creditors.

Selena is the daughter the aunt never had and is the other person named to inherit. She wants to work with Cade to save her job and home. She is a free-loving sex educator and so empathic and kind. She intuitively helps customers who come into the shop. She is also choosing to be celibate until she gets her stuff together. There is so much to love about these two characters. They are opposites who must work together to succeed. Both have great backstories with depth that allows you to really connect to them. Subtle things like Selena noticing Cade's shoulders hunching when she was uncomfortable melted my heart.

I love that the author makes the point of showing that we should see ourselves through the eyes of people who love us. It is too easy to look at ourselves and see only our flaws. These two characters gave me the feels. I want them happy, successful and in love. I love art and if I could give a bonus star for naming a body part Artemisia I would. I will immediately look for other books by Karelia Stetz-Waters. Be sure and read the authors notes at the end too. A huge thank you to NetGalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so great to read. A fun opposites attract romance that I loved. I sped through this one. The writing was accessible and I loved the way Selena’s characters shone through. She was a fun character to read about. The chemistry in this was amazing too.

OH MY GOD - this is the sapphic rom-com novel of my dreams.
The idea of being thrown together with someone to save your dead aunt's sex toy shop from going under? Hilarious but then add steamy romance and fantastic character development and you have a book that knocks all others out of the park. You can't help but root for all the characters and I was definitely internally chanting "kiss, kiss, kiss" for several pages. I really hope this gets the recognition it deserves because the representation is fantastic. This is such a fun, well-written, spicy, and heartfelt story, has become my new favorite book, and I cannot wait to recommend it to everyone that I know.

A sweet book on learning to love yourself through loving another.

The many side characters in this story are fun and fully of life. Adding dimension to the book and to the events of the MCs.

Consent is sexy, and Selena is not afraid to talk sex and sex toys to anyone who wants to talk about it—makes sense after all, she sells sex toys for a living. I thought it was well done, just you know, be aware of what you’re reading. As she says, it’s okay to not be comfortable with it. But why not give it a try?

I really loved Satisfaction Guaranteed by Karelia Stetz-Waters.

I love a good rom com novel and this definitely delivered! One of my favorite things was the dialogue throughout the book, it all felt very genuine, true to the characters, and fitting within the scenes. Two people being left a sex toy store is hilarious especially when the two are such opposites!

I loved that Selena and Cade stayed true to themselves, and neither one changed to suit the other. All of the growth the two had was of their own choice and encouraged by the other characters, but it was never to please the love interest so I really really loved that.

I truly loved the ending too, I would say the events are unexpected in the last 1/4 and then it all comes together perfectly. I loved the unexpected bit too because it made the book stand out a little bit more from other romance books.

Lastly, I liked that this was a female/female romance novel. It was actually my first sapphic romance and I loved it!! It was so well fun, spicy, relatable, heartwarming and I loved how much Selena loved teaching women about their bodies! Very cool, I would recommend this to anyone who likes romance novels!

When I started this book, I thought it was going to be a goofy, funny, sexy read. And it was all of those things but it also was quite possibly the best romance novel I have ever read. Cade and Selena are two characters I rooted for individually and together. I felt their painful backstories and the way they kept them apart and pushed them together. I felt the emotional rollercoaster of this story so acutely that it made my hands tingle.

This is not a very eloquent review but I was quite simply bowled over by this book and haven't recovered yet.

Oh my God. I love this book so much. It's the first thing I've read by Stetz-Waters, and I'm definitely going to seek out her back catalog, because this is just about perfect.

This is a lesbian romcom. The main characters are Serena, a free-living and (in the past) free-loving sex educator and artist living in Portland and Cade, a sexually inexperienced, buttoned-up, efficient businesswoman from New York. When Cade's Aunt Ruth dies, her will directs Serena and Cade to jointly run her feminist sex emporium, Satisfaction Guaranteed, and pull it back from the brink of financial ruin.

So far, so tropey. I laughed out loud quite a few times while reading the book, and I don't often do that. But it's also emotionally moving – sweet and touching and sometimes surprising (I think I actually gasped once or twice). As in any good romcom, the MCs are attracted to each other, but there are also initially factors keeping them apart – and those factors never feel forced, which can happen all too easily. And of course we have all those accidental touches generating plenty of desire – kept well under wraps for a long time but eventually, well...

Serena and Cade are interesting people who both grow and change over the course of the book. They sometimes rub each other the wrong way, but they're also both paying attention and listening and communicating. Both women have good friends supporting them. Both have struggles with sex (very different ones) and both sets of issues seem like ones real people often have. The sex scenes are gentle, caring, compelling, psychologically real, and well aware of consent and care for a partner.

Anyway. This is a delight from beginning to end – funny, kind, and full of both heat and heart. If you don't want to read explicit sex scenes, this probably isn't for you, but otherwise, if you love romcoms, you should absolutely check it out.

Y’alllllllll FINALLY. I’ve been on the hunt for sapphic rom nov for a friend who doesn’t read romance for a long time. I wanted it to be well-written, heartfelt, insightful, sexy and fun. That is so easy to find in FM and even MM romances, but so many FF romances I’ve read are often overshadowed by angst and doubt and coming out, all of which are important to explore in their own right, but they didn’t share joy and light as well.

But this isn’t that. Satisfaction Guaranteed is finally the sapphic rom nov the world deserves! Cade and Selena are well-crafted, delightful characters that I loved getting to know. Being thrown together to save a sex toy shop was funny and the perfect backdrop for their love story. There was light steam, a fun cast of characters, and a truly lovely falling in love journey. So excited for this to come out and recommend to all I know!
