A light-hearted read with adorable characters. It was enjoyable without being too comic. The twists and turns are enough to keep the reader going on.
So so freaking cute! I couldn’t put this one down! I needed to keep reading to find out what happened. I loved it deff recommend
This was just an okay read for me. I did really enjoy the main character Addie was a writer and I loved the Downs Syndrome representation in the character of her brother but the story dragged a bit in places for me. A bit disappointing overall but had such high potential!
This was cute. Could have been but I feel like this was a great debut! I identified with the characters so much and I hope others do as well!
I thought this was a very cute, easy read. I was not absolutely blown away by the story itself or its characters, but I did like the relationship between Jameson and Addie and Owen. I would recommend this book as a light read for those who love a love story.
After reading the blurb for this book, I was so excited to go into it. I don’t usually read the blurb before reading a book and I’m sad I did for this one. My expectations going in were so high and I was let down. I put this book down at 25%. I just didn’t relate to the characters or the romance. The curvy main character I appreciated as well as the Down syndrome rep. But, that couldn’t keep my interests.
I thought I’d love this from the blurb but I could not connect. I think it could have been edited better. Feels like a waste.
Unfortunately, this book was not for me. As much as I wanted to love it, it just did not hold up to par.
This one is okay. It had some heartwarming moments and I do appreciate the author incorating an autistic character into heat book. I just wish I felt more of a connection between the hero and heroine.
Sadly, this book did not entice me in the way that I had hoped. I did not connect with the plot or the characters in the way that I like to when I read, and it felt as if there was just something missing. Despite this, Her Turn is a light and easy read, perfect for anyone who's ever dreamed of becoming an author.
From beginning to end, I loved everything about this book. It's always nice to read when the "fat" girl gets the guy The old high school crush was a little stereotypical but still relevant to keeping the story moving along. I'll be looking forward to a book 2 to discuss the story of their close friends.
Eh not for me. The cover and the concept were intriguing but it just fell flat for me. I really wanted to like this book, and I'm really sorry that I didn't. Thank you for letting me read an early copy.
This one had a few twists and turns which I didn't see coming! The surprises kept me going and kept me very intrigued. I loved the characters and would definitely recommend this book!!
maybe because i've been exposed to so many romance books that i don't find everything appealing anymore. i genuinely think this book has potential and has its strengths! but maybe it wasn't just for me, still recommend perhaps this book's for them !
Didn't enjoy the direct to the reader style of the narrative, especially when some of the less nice characters were given their own chapters. While it was an interesting idea I didn't like the exercustion.

I really enjoyed this one! As someone who works with autistic adults, I loved that aspect of the story. I thought this book was funny, sweet, and overall very nice!
Charming and witty, this will be a huge hit withall romance fans, particularly readers of Helen Hoang and Jen Deluca.

Release Date:January 21, 2021
Her Turn by Allison Jones is a stand-alone romantic comedy.
The characters were interesting and the premise was good. I really wanted to love this book, but overall, it just didn't work for me. The story line was interesting, but there was something missing.
I'm so grateful to Allison Jones, BooksGoSocial, and NetGalley for providing me with a free copy of this ARC ebook in exchange for my honest review.
This was a cute little rom-com and showed lots of potential from the author! Easy to breeze through, and perfect for some fun, light-reading on holiday!
Addie works at a publishers and suddenly finds fame after publishing her first book. I liked that she was a carer for her brother Owen (who has Down's Syndrome) and the relationship between them was sweet, you could tell they had a tricky upbringing and stuck together. Owen is a cinnamon roll! I would've liked a bit more of a focus on their family relationship rather than the romance. I didn't really feel much of the chemistry and it felt rushed in my opinion.
I respect that Addie was also on the bigger side and had major insecurities over her appearance, which is something a lot of us can relate to, however her inner monologue became repetitive at times. You could tell that Addie was also coming to terms with her own doubts, learning to finally accept herself.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this advanced copy!
"Her Turn" is aptly named and is about Addie ,a new novelist and sole caregiver for her mentally challenged ,younger ,precocious brother. While trying to get her career off the ground, she has to deal with a passel of free-loading, mooching and conniving people looking only for "their turn". She has to juggle all these obligations and prepare to launch her book, then the inconvenient ,ill-timed love joins the melee. While I didn't quite feel the emotional connection between her and Jameson, I loved that he got to know her inner self and understood her foibles and mannerisms enough to be able to anticipate her needs and feelings. The author was able to interweave love, entitlement, humor, avarice, mystery and suspense in an evenly paced novel that have you thinking you know the path she is leading you down, only to deliver a little twist. By the end of the novel , you see how Addie has grown up and out and fearlessly demands her turn. I can unequivocally recommend this book and appreciate Netgalley and the publisher for permitting me access to it.
