While the novel tackles important themes like consent and trust, I found it disappointing overall. The main character, despite the weighty themes, felt flat and unengaging to me. The exploration of these crucial topics lacked depth and failed to resonate as I had hoped.

I was super excited for this one. I had heard a lot going into it. And it did not disappoint at all. It kept me pulled in. And I did not want to put the book down.

I feel like this novel is SO important. Consent, trust, etc., all important topics everyone needs to be focusing on right now.

A great read by this author. I definitely recommend checking this one out!
Thank you NetGalley for providing a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Great concept but I feel like it could have been a bit more developed. Decent writing, a bit too much info dumping, no true stakes for the MC tho which made it fall a little flat. Everything happened to those around her, she was little more than a spectator

This is a lot to read and as a middle school teacher I can't recommend the book because of the details and the slut shaming, there is a subtler way to go

This book was personally really hard to read for me, and I didn't enjoy it much. The plot was okay, but after that nothing was really planned out. It was just super repetitive.

Revenge of the Sluts was a lot better than I was anticipating. I didn’t really know how this story was going to form and where it would lead, but I can say it was really good and the point the book made was powerful. . I loved how the author was super honest in writing and was realistic. I actually felt like this could have happened at my own high school growing up. The characters all felt super real and I couldn’t help but feel for what happened to the girls. While the middle was a little slow paced and I didn’t know where it was going at some points, it was still a really amazing book. I thought the ending could have been stronger, especially with all that the author leads with. I really think this is a super powerful book, and really points out how it is so wrong to slut shame. How it is wrong to think it was the girl’s fault for sending photos. How girls are always considered sluts, but the guys are considered cool for hooking up with so many girls.

Sadly this book was just not for me & I ended up DNFing it. Just because it wasn’t for me though doesn’t mean someone else won’t love it! Star rating is based on what I read but don’t let that sway you as it just wasn’t my type of book.

I thought this was a bit of a unique read, but the topic was dealt with using a slightly heavier hand than I thought was strictly necessary. I was guessing whodunit right up until the end!

This was so unique and different to anything I’ve read and I quite enjoyed that. I really found the characters to be really descriptive and enjoyed that. I unfortunately didn’t really enjoy the way this story unfolded and felt that the style just wasn’t for me personally.

Wouldn’t purchase is because it’s too old for my middle school age group.

However, I couldn’t get past the first few chapters. The short, repetitive sentence structure and the narrator sounding like an adult reporter just made me want to not keep reading. Also while I know the book is anti slut shaming, it’s still hard to read so much slut shaming in a book as a female.

The story sounded promising and I think there was a lot of potential. However I didn't really resonate with the writing style so I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hope

Thank you to Penguin Random House (#penguinteenpartner) for the gifted ARC of this book.

This YA novel is focused around Nudegate, after an email with naked photos of several female classmates is sent to the entire student body. The MC is on the school newspaper staff, and this private school takes their newspaper VERY seriously. Eden tries to connect with each victim to conduct interviews and try to solve the mystery of who sent these photos out, how they acquired them and to help them seek justice. The school, however, isn’t as cooperative; they want to sweep it under the rug and keep it out of mainstream media outlets.

Overall, this is a pretty good YA read, but it fell a little flat for me. The email goes out in the first chapter, and then nothing else really happens for a long while. I needed more plot. I did, however, appreciate the message about victim blaming as well as slut shaming. Very important.

DNF at 25%!

Okay, so I was not vibing with the writing style of this AT ALL. Most of what made me want to DNF this was the fact that it keeps going into explanations/backstories of various lengths which creates A LOT of breaks in the story. It felt like the story was barely going anywhere because these breaks kept coming, and a couple of times I had to go back to see what even happened before it because I could not remember.

Also: this newspaper / "only we can solve this" vibe reminded me too much of Betty and Jughead solving crimes in Riverdale 😅 I'm not really vibing with the thing where the mc's seem to be superhumans and do 120 different things each day.

I still think it's a decent book tho, especially considering the theme and how realistic it is! (Like, I wanted to vibe with it so bad but alas). If the two things above don't bother you then you'll probably still end up liking it!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for making this available..

I can't put into words how much I loved this book, I read it in one sitting!
The cover is what grabbed my attention, I think it's creative and fitting for this book.

To me it feels like a powerful read and something resourceful that young women (and men) need to have, to not only educate themselves but others around them with such a topic. For me this did feel kind of youngish but it is a story based in high school, I feel that having that youngish vibe to it made it better so it can be relatable for teens. For the storyline, I absolutely loved how empowering and important it was to see these young women take something so horribly done to them and turn it into something inspiring. How the girls took control of the situation after no-one would help them and took back the dignity and power that the photo leaker thought they had taken from them was inspiring and made me happy that it wasn't just another hurtful cliché of photos being leaked, girl runs away and hides and thinks the world hates her.

The ending did annoy me somewhat, it felt too rushed especially when it was getting really good, the uncovering of leakers identity was anticlimactic and I hoped we would've had a bit more longer with that part.

Revenge porn is a horrible thing that does happen everyday to all ages, I wouldn't wish it on anyone, but I feel like a book like this is a step in letting young people know that having private images/videos/audios leaked will not be the thing that defines them for the rest of their lives if they don't let it.

This book was kind of a struggle for me. There were a lot of characters and it got hard to keep them all straight. Moreover, they were all kind of flat and inconsistent. I think we were supposed to see Eden as an overachieving not-like-other-girls sort of girl, but she was just annoying. She was super pushy and judgey towards the girls.
It moved really slow. This book took me so long to read and every time I thought I’d made progress, I had barely ready anything. There were whole chapters where no ground was gained.
I think it had a good message and theme, but this story was maybe not the best device for it.
Overall, this might not have been the book for me.

I was a little apprehensive going into this in the beginning, as I haven’t had the best luck with books that get their start on Wattpad. This was a lovely exception! It deals with revenge porn as a central topic, the fallout surrounding it, as well as trying to figure out who sent the girls’ pictures to the entire school. The school’s newspaper as well was a central aspect, which I wasn’t expecting but ended up really enjoying! Eden and Ronnie were a good pair of best friends and were dedicated to covering and getting justice for the girls who were violated. It is not one of my favourite reads of all time, but it was quite an enjoyable story with great characters.

This wasn't it for me. It feels like it's trying to do this whole woker than though, no sex shaming thing that's very trendy, but in a very cliched and shallow way. I support the message for sure, but we don't need another take on this that offers nothing new.
