Kept me entertained until the last word. So much suspense mixed with secrets plus drama, I couldn’t wait to finish.
What makes it even better is that it’s the first book in a trilogy about love, betrayal, and the secrets families keep. So more are coming!
Thank you so much, Kerry Lonsdale, Lake Union, amazon & Netgalley for my copy to read and give my guest review.
"No More Words" by Kerry Lonsdale is a gripping psychological thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The novel centers around Grace, a woman haunted by her past and the mysterious disappearance of her mother. Lonsdale skillfully weaves a tale of suspense, secrets, and unexpected twists, creating a narrative that keeps readers guessing until the final pages. The characters are well-developed, and the author explores the complexities of relationships and the consequences of buried truths. With its taut pacing and atmospheric writing, "No More Words" is a compelling and emotionally charged thriller that will leave readers questioning the power of memory and the lengths one will go to protect those they love.
I have read several books by Kerry Lonsdale now, and each time I find myself getting lost within the pages of the world in which she creates with ease.
Filled with drama, intrigue and mystery, it is a wonderfully structured story that has you gripped throughout.
No More Words by Kerry Lonsdale
Brief Summary: One day Olivia’s nephew Josh shows up on her doorstep with aphasia unable to explain why he’s there or where his mother is. Lily ran away from home pregnant at age 16 and Olivia only receives letters from her once a year with a photo of Josh. The search for Lily brings back drama, betrayal, and chilling mysteries. Lonsdale is a favorite of mine and I was so excited for her first series since the Everything series. I have read most of her books.
Highlights: I want to say up front that I consider myself fortunate to be able to binge read all 3 novels in the series. This would have been a very different reading experience to wait. This was my favorite of the three because you learn so much family history behind the characters. This is the second time that Lonsdale has involved a character with trauma acquired cognitive deficits that affect his functioning and add to the drama. My fellow medical and mental health professionals will appreciate that aspect of this story. I flew through this story learning about the family drama and how it impacted each character for many years to come.
Explanation of Rating: 4/5 This is a highly satisfying page turning high drama novel that will satisfy longtime and new Lonsdale fans.
Thank you to Net Galley and Lake Union Publishing for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review
I am so happy that Kerry has a new series out! The relationship between Josh and Olivia is very sweet. I love books full of family drama, and this did not disappoint. I mean what would you do if a teen boy was just dropped off at your doorstep! There would be a lot of turmoil and adjustment for all. Looking forward to book #2 in this series. Well done!
Olivia hasn’t seen her sister Lily since she ran away from home, pregnant at the age of 16. But she writes to Olivia mailing her a picture of her son Josh every year. This year Josh shows up at her home without Lily. Because of an accident Josh has difficulty talking, reading, and writing but he can draw and his drawings are frightening. Can Olivia find out what happened to her sister? A good past/present story. I look forward to the next book in this trilogy.
I was so excited to learn that No More Words was the first book in a new trilogy by Kerry Lonsdale. I love her style of writing and this book does not disappoint. Olivia has not seen her sister Lily since she ran away from home when she was 16 and pregnant. The only communication is letters with pictures of her son Josh. One day Josh just shows up at Olivia's door and Lily is missing. Josh has trouble communicating verbally but can draw. Through his drawings they try to unravel the mystery of what happened to Lily! Can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Desperately wanted to love it, but just couldn't connect with the characters which meant I didn't really engage with the romance side of the story either. Sadly not for me.
I am a fan of this author’s books so I was thrilled when this one arrived. This book is a departure from her last one as this is more of a domestic suspense story. Olivia is stunned when her nephew Josh, shows up at her door. Due to family estrangement Olivia has never met her 13 year old nephew. It soon becomes apparent that something has happened to Josh and his mother and Olivia sets out to solve where her sister is. As the story progresses we realize what a mess Olivia’s family is - starting with her parents. I struggled a bit with Olivia. I definitely didn’t like some of the aspects of her personality and at times she seemed immature. Overall all though I really liked the book and I enjoyed the intrigue throughout. Definitely a book you should add to your summer TBR.
Book 1 of No More Series.
Olivia comes from a dysfunctional family. Her sister Lily left home after finding out she was pregnant and occasionally sends a card to update Olivia about her son Josh. One day, twelve-year-old Josh shows up at Olivia’s house alone. He has a hard time communicating and has no idea where his mom is. Olivia immediately starts digging into the past to figure out where Lily could possibly be. Her biggest discovery is that her family has been lying to her most of her life.
This book is a twisted family affair. It alternates points of view and goes back and forth between the present and the past. There are a few spicy scenes and a lot of family drama. I like Olivia’s character because she is persistent in her search for her sister and is patient, loving, and understanding with Josh. If you enjoy a family drama mystery, this is the book for you!

Book 1 of new series, I enjoyed reading about the blossoming relationship between Josh and Olivia as aunt and nephew had their own problems to overcome. Secrets and family drama kept me hooked to the story with mixed characters. Quite enjoyable and entertaining.
No More Words is a dark and twisty book. Fully of family drama. It's a fantastic read that keeps you turning the pages to see the story unfold.
NO MORE WORDS is a dark and twisty ride. Lonsdale explores the bonds of sisters and the secrets that have repercussions. As per usual, the author crafts a plot that is compelling and characters that are instantly engaging. If this is the first book, I cannot wait to see what comes next.
I'm a big fan of Kerry Lonsdale, and will automatically read everything she writes--so I was excited to see that this book is the first in a trilogy! This book pulled me in from the beginning and kept me interested right through to the last page! I loved the characters, and got particularly attached to Olivia and Josh. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Kerry Lonsdale books are always on my must read list and this one did not disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It kept me engaged with many twists and secrets revealed, just when you think you know what is coming next something else is revealed that changes the path of the story. I enjoyed getting to know Olivia, she is a very strong character that has been through a lot in her life. I'm looking forward to learning more about Josh and Lily in the next installment of this series.
I highly recommend this well written book that will keep you excitedly turning the pages. I am grateful to Netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read an ARC of this wonderful book in exchange for a honest review.
I struggled to get through this. I didn't feel any connection with any of the characters and didn't even like the romance part. Too light and the story just didn't seem to flow well.
Kerry does it again with this most recent book!! If a teenage boy gets dropped off at your door, what would you do? This family drama has all the twists and turns you want in a book. Thank goodness, this is book #1 in a series. I'm so excited for book #2!!
I’ve always liked Kerry Lonsdale’s books, and “No More Words” was no exception. She has the ability to bring the reader into the book, and her characters are well described and feel familiar. This book is darker than most of her previous books, but I enjoyed it.
In this book, the first in the No More series, Olivia’s sister Lily runs away at 16 because she’s pregnant. She never comes home again, but sends annual letters. One year, Lily’s son Josh appears at Olivia’s house with a letter from his mother, who has disappeared.
Josh is an amazing artist but doesn’t speak much and can’t read or write. His artwork tells the story of Lily’s disappearance, and Olivia must follow the clues to figure out what happened to her sister. She unearths family secrets that she wishes had remained buried. This book was suspenseful and well written, 4 stars.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A family drama with a capital "D". It has it all. Characters are well described and book two of this series will tie up some of the loose ends. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC
This is my second Kerry Lonsdale novel and she is becoming one of my favorite authors. I have really enjoyed both books I have read that were written by her. This story was so creative with unique characters that you don't find every day in books. I love the way Lonsdale takes you on a journey to reveal the characters and watch their development. The people feel real, and even with this unusual situation, I thought it felt real. The family secrets and deceptions kept the book compelling. I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel to this book.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy to review!
