Such a beautifully written book. I am excited that this is only book one of three, because I am looking forward to reading more!
While I will be the first to admit that I was a huge fan of Kerry's first books, my appreciation for and enjoyment of No More Words surpassed that in an incredible way. Full of heart and mystery, I found myself cheering for the characters and certain I had figured things out at least a dozen times before the final reveal. This is how a family drama should read. And the preview of the sequel? I already can't wait. Stellar writing.
Olivia hasn’t seen her sister Lily since she ran away from home, pregnant at the age of 16. But she writes to Olivia mailing her a picture of her son Josh every year. This year Josh shows up at her home without Lily. Because of an accident Josh has difficulty talking, reading, and writing but he can draw and his drawings are frightening. Can Olivia find out what happened to her sister? A good past/present story. I look forward to the next book in this trilogy.
Kerry Lonsdale, the author of “No More Words” has written an intriguing, intense, and captivating novel. The genres for this novel are psychological thriller, a domestic thriller, mystery and suspense, and fiction. The timeline for this novel is set in the author’s “present” and goes back to the past when it pertains to the characters or events. The author describes her dramatic characters as complex, complicated, dysfunctional, flawed and each character has their own set of problems and memories. There are secrets, lies, betrayals, danger, and possible murder. The Carson family is quite complicated. The father is in the wine business and an aspiring politician, and the wife, seems to have champagne taste on a beer budget. When the three Carson children, are younger, they get the wonderful opportunity to stay with a family that has a home by the lake and encourages hiking, swimming, and friendship with their children. The middle son likes to play jokes on his siblings and causes some troublesome situations. Olivia Carson, now an adult has a wonderful job and some good friends. She also has trust issues and her relationships with men are difficult. A young boy is dropped off by her house, and Olivia discovers that this is her nephew Josh, her youngest sister Lily’s son. Lily ran away when she was pregnant and 16 years old, and Olivia hasn’t seen Josh in person. Josh has difficulty communicating and has a scar that looks like he recently had brain surgery. Olivia, Lily, and Josh are very artistic. Josh can draw involved, detailed, and intricate pictures. Olivia senses something terrible has happened to her sister. Olivia starts to look at things from the past to understand what is going on. Little does Olivia realize that many of the deep dark secrets, once revealed will be like opening Pandora’s box. This is a thought-provoking and suspenseful story that I highly recommend for other readers. I look forward to reading the other books in the Kerry Lonsdale series.
Pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this. Family dysfunction, lies, unplanned pregnancies and more. Well written characters. I have read other books by this author but this was particularly good. The beginning of a series. Recommended.
Thanks to Netgalley, Kerry Lonsdale and Lake Union Publishing for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The first in a new trilogy, No More Words will have you humming Berlin’s hit single from the 80s as you hazard a guess at the title’s meaning. I was impressed with how much I loved this book and the author’s style. A new author to me, I can now see why her books are so popular.
You will love Lonsdale’s lean writing style; she doesn’t linger too long in the character’s head and there’s no unnecessary words. She writes to keep the plot unpredictable and incorporates multiple themes. This one has serious themes, but she’s managed to write in such a way that the book entertains, is a quick read, and is hard to put down. The plot is driven by the protagonist’s emotional journey. Lonsdale believes life is more exciting with twists and turns and hence she enjoys dropping her characters into unexpected scenarios and settings. As if all this wasn’t enough, Lonsdale has her finger on the pulse of the book and maintains it throughout the plot.
Lonsdale explores a dysfunctional family that struggles to reunite after long-buried secrets are revealed. Her focus is on the three Carson siblings who have been torn apart by a series of tragic events. My favourite character is 13-year-old Josh. He arrives at his aunt’s home, alone and terrified and unable to express himself. He can’t read nor write, but his artwork helps him communicate that he’s lost his mom and he needs help finding her.
Brimming with drama, suspense, and deception, then sprinkled with a touch of romance/lust, Lonsdale kicks off her new trilogy with redemption as the focus. An honest look at a dysfunctional family, this book will remind you of the power of love and the strength of sibling bonds.
Watch out for ‘No More Lies’, book 2 in the series, to be released May 10, 2022!

I was gifted this advance copy by Kerry Lonsdale, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
No More Words! Wow, what a great book. In the beginning Olivia Carson's family appeared to be close, but missing the youngest daughter Lily who ran away after she became pregnant at 16. Lily sends her sister Olivia photos of her son Josh once a year, but keeps it a secret where she is living. Delving into this story was like peeling back layers of an onion.... wow, so many revelations are made and secrets unturned. I was left on the last page with questions wanting more of the story! I am so thankful this is a series and I can't wait to read the next book. Kerry Lonsdale is an amazing author who keeps you on the edge of your seat with suspense and spins a domestic thriller like no other. This is a must read!
Thank you to Kerry Lonsdale and NetGalley for an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
No More Words had me on the edge of my seat for the majority of the book. I couldn’t put it down for anything, nor did I want to. That’s the sign of a great book.
If you want an amazing book to read, pick up No More Words. You won’t regret it.
Once again Kerry Lonsdale knocks it out of the ballpark! No More Words is the first in her new trilogy and I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC! As always, Kerry drew me in with the first chapter and I couldn't put it down after that. The characters are portrayed in such a real manner that you feel you are living right alongside them. In true "Kerry fashion", No More Words brings you lots of twists and turns, plays with your emotions, and leaves you longing for more. This story of love, heartache, family secrets, and drama, will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. I know I can't wait to see what goes down in the 2nd book in the series!!
Page Turner..family drama at its best. Was hard to put this one down. Can't wait for the next one to come out.
Thanks to the author, the publisher and NetGalley for an early release of this book.
I was on the edge of my seat for the entire time that I was reading this book. I was not prepared for all of the dramatic twists or the emotional roller coaster ride that it took me on. Kerry Lonsdale masterfully blends a family saga with a murder mystery with perfection.
I have been on a roll lately reading some great books and so when I started this book I hope it was going to live up all expectations… well it certainly did that and more it’s a terrific read that was different and so well crafted.
I hadn’t read any of Kerry Lonsdale’s previous books so she was a new author for me and I was completely blown away by what a brilliant storyteller she is and what’s more this is only the first of a trilogy so I am thrilled that I have more to look forward to I just hope it’s not going to be too long a wait as I’m missing this book already.
No rehashing of the plot as I always say it’s not my thing I prefer not to know too much about the book before I start to read and well in this the surprises just kept coming. So we have secrets upon secrets, lies and a whole cast of brilliantly written characters it was just such a gripping plot I didn’t want to put it down and now I need so badly to know more about these characters and what’s going to happen to them.
I loved the book as you can probably tell and all praise to Kerry Lonsdale for a stupendous and satisfying 5 star read.
My thanks also to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for giving me the chance to read the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
What an incredible start to Kerry Lonsdale’s newest trilogy. I was so engrossed by No More Words from Chapter One that I did not want to put it down to do a single thing until I got to the end. And I did manage to put aside what needed to be done at home (take-out, leftovers…you bet!) and was able to read the book in two days.
This is a family drama filled with a lot of dysfunction, many secrets, quite a bit of mystery, romance, and twists throughout that just blew my mind. It centers mostly on the three siblings, Olivia, Lucas and Lily, with the story going back and forth from their summers spent at their family friends’ lakeside home in the mid 90’s to the present. The big mystery is what happened to sister Lily and why does Josh, Lily’s thirteen-year-old son, suddenly show up on Olivia’s doorstep not knowing what has happened to his mom, and who and where is Josh’s father? Throughout the story I had my own suspicions and guesses as to who the father was, but I was wrong. The writing here is strong with a captivating plot, great characters, and very fast-paced. It is quite the page-turner. Some questions as to what happened to Lily and to other family issues are answered at the end, but yet there are still some unresolved matters with this family. And now I shall patiently wait for Book Two. I highly recommend readers add No More Words to their to-be-read list. It releases on July 6, 2021.
Thank you to Kerry Lonsdale, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions are my own.
This story is the epitome of family dysfunction. You have a sister who ran away at age 16, a brother who has served time, a mom who wants to deny anything is going on, and a dad who openly loves his oldest daughter, yet refuses to show the same love for his youngest daughter. What in the world is going on with this family?!? Forced to find answers, Olivia sets out on a journey that will change her life. Loved this story and how all of the family secrets were gradually revealed!
This first book of a brand new trilogy by Kerry Lonsdale definitely doesn't disappoint and leaves you itching for more!
A broken family, lots of secrets, a missing sibling, mysterious deaths, romance and a long lost nephew that appears out of nowhere. That about sums up this story. Lily, the youngest of the 3 Carson siblings finds herself pregnant and being forced to either abort or give the child up for adoption - neither of which sits well with her, so she runs away, never to be seen again. She sends her oldest sister, Olivia, an update letter once a year with no return address. One day, Josh, Lily's 13 year old son shows up on Olivia's doorstep with no explanation and a brain injury that doesn't allow him to tell her much. She's left to hope her sister is still alive and try to find her with very little info to work with!
This story will have you flipping furiously through the pages to find out what happened to Lily and to discover the answers to a lot of other things that arise too. Most of your questions will be answered in the end but there's definitely a few things left to carry us into the rest of the trilogy. I think this will be a pretty buzzed about book this summer.
NO MORE WORDS by Kerry Lonsdale is a fantastic first book in what is sure to be a great series. The pace of this book is just right and the rotation between flashbacks of youthful summers and the present demands of adulthood is done without confusion for the reader. Families are complicated but this family has a lot going on that pulls the readers in all sorts of directions. The plot has the twists and turns I’ve come to expect from Lonsdale and I dare you to not feel all the heartstrings when you read about Josh. I cannot wait to see what happens next to this family in book 2. I received an Advance Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
First of all, that book cover is gorgeous!
No More Words is book 1 in this series.
Here we meet the Carson family, with this story revolving around Olivia’s point of view.
Engaging, entertaining,
...
A story of family, questions, uncertainty and forgiveness.
Can’t wait to see where book 2 takes me.
Wow! No More Words has left me with almost no words! Kerry Lonsdale has quickly become one of my favorite authors and her upcoming release only solidifies what a fan I am. I devoured this book in two days and might have read it even faster if not for the terrible headache I had on the first day.
This story is full of mystery, intrigue, romance and countless examples of why communication is so important...in all relationships! By the time I’d read half of the book I had so many thoughts and speculations bouncing around in my head and I was excited to find that, while my intuition was correct on a few small things, I was still left surprised and stunned by the way some big things played out. Kerry, once again, does a fantastic job of taking you on a roller coaster ride and then going out with a bang.
I enjoyed getting to know Olivia through her past and present and I can’t wait for the next two books in this series so that I can get to know the other two Carson siblings better. They definitely have some stories to tell! Also, I want to note that Olivia’s friend, Amber, is my new fictional best friend as it’s noted that she always has a book with her wherever she goes.
I very much enjoy Kerry Lonsdale's books, all of them. I have dubbed her the Queen of the Twist. This is a nicely structured story and, true to her style, there is more to come! I felt some of the writing at the beginning was a bit rough, though.. It felt as though she was trying to cram too many descriptive details into each sentence. And it's the editor's job to smooth out those bumps. That aside: Where are you taking us, Kerry? I look forward to the journey!
Kerry writes stories about family that are guaranteed to touch you in unexpected ways and leave you craving more. Try her books...you'll be glad you did...like me you may just discover a new favorite author!
