A great romantic suspense. Kayla is a doctor whose dad is controlling. Not only is he controlling but he’s governor. When she decides to live her life she starts by picking out one gorgeous man for a night of fun. That night comes back to haunt her in the manner of a stalker. So dad steps in to help by bribing 1 gorgeous exFBI agent into protecting her with the promise of getting him reinstated with the FBI.

There is not a book by this author that I don't like. This one is just as good the second time around! I found that I had purchased it with a different cover when originally publisher and loved it just as much this time! Tough guy trying to resist the pull of the woman he wants never gets old!

It was only supposed to be one night. One night of reckless abandon. One night of unbridled passion. One night of anonymity. Two lives passing in the night. The, Dr. Michaela Roarke walks into her father's home and comes face-to-face with the man she can't stop thinking about. Jackson Cantrell is shocked to find out the woman who rocked his world is none other than the governor's daughter, and he's being blackmailed into protecting her. There is a stalker on the loose who wants nothing more than to ruin Michaela's life and, in turn, the governor's.

A Night of Southern Comfort was an amazing romantic suspense novel. The author created a spectacular setting for this story, one that was easily visualized and perfectly staged. The stalker aspect was full of twists and turns and I enjoyed how the storyline played out. The revelation was shocking and the reason not all all what I preconceived in my mind. The romance was well executed and I loved that the one night stand became so much more.

The novel is fast-paced and, at 200 pages, is a quick and captivating read. The hero and heroine were likable characters, even if Michaela was a bit stubborn. Her daddy issues clouded her mind and judgment several times. The chemistry between Michaela and Jackson was off the charts. Every time they are together the page sizzles, and I'm not just talking about their bedroom sexcapades. They also have a connection deeper than just sexual, making their relationship much more meaningful. The epilogue is outstanding!! An excellent story with loveable characters. I can't wait to dive into the next book in The Boys Are Back in Town series.

Wow. Just wow. I'm not sure why I have not read this author yet. I absolutely loved the sizzling hot romance, well developed characters and the exciting suspense. This book was fast paced, equally fun and surprisingly well-crafted. .A solid quick read!

I’m a little disappointed with this one... I had such high hopes for it. And the story never captured my interest.
I eventually skipped around from chapter to chapter. Then I skipped several chapters at once.
Not the story for me.

Dr. Michaela Roarke is a pediatrician, anxious to establish her practice in a small southern town. She celebrates her new life after leaving the last political fund-raising dinner in support of her father who is running for senate. Michaela celebrates her newfound freedom by having a drink in the bar and finds she is drawn to an attractive man. A steamy night results and she believes she will never see Jackson again. A month later she is called to her father’s mansion, and believing she is in danger, he hires Jackson to guard her. I liked the story and the characters. I would have preferred a little less steamy sex and a more developed story and mystery.

A Night of Southern Comfort was a quick, steamy read. This story had a great mix of elements, which I loved. My favorite being the brooding cop falling for the stubborn independent heroine. Coming a close second was the interesting cast of secondary characters that hinted at what other stories to expect in the series.

Jackson and Michaela were interesting characters to get to know and their chemistry was off-the-charts HOT! But what I loved the most was the fact that their connection jumped off the page. I enjoyed their bickering and candid moments just as much as their intimate ones, which is a lot to say, because I enjoyed those IMMENSELY.

So you probably wondering why I only gave it 3 stars? Well, in the end I thought that everything was resolved too quickly. Although there was a mix of elements thrown into the mix and they all added to the story and kept me tap, tap, taping my iPad until the end, I was left wanting more. I would have preferred a bit more twist and turns as well as a broader glimpse into Jackson and Michaela's relationship.

A Night of Southern Comfort is the first book in The Boys are Back in Town series and as such it does a fair job of giving the readers a glimpse into the main characters in the series and enticing them to follow these "Boys" along.

Loved, loved, loved reading about Jack & Kayla. Robin Covington did a great job of character development. There was plenty of action & drama to keep me from putting the book down. I will be looking for more from Robin. It was a fun enjoyable read.
