I would like to thank Guernica Editions for providing me with an Advanced Reader Copy of Down in the Ground through NetGalley.
I admit I was fascinated by the premise of this book, viewing death through the experiences of working class, people who work in mines and have come to terms with the possibility of death. I enjoyed a lot the sadness of the images described in this book.
Although it was not as bleak as I feared it would be, I think I am not the target audience for this book. It will be appreciated more by readers who grew up in these social contexts.
