Her time away from Nugget seems to have brought Stacy extra joy in revisiting our most favorite small town, which really came through as I read Choosing You. We meet up with quite a few of our old friends, though the story definitely centers around Brynn, Henry, Ethan and Veronica. Brynn and Henry have moved to Nugget for the duration of Henry’s treatments, and end up living in a cottage on Ethan’s ranch. There is conflict of interest, conflict of duty, and conflict of geography to overcome, though the attraction between Brynn and Ethan is instantaneous. Theirs is a sweet (and steamy) romance between two people who deserve a second chance at love – a trope that Stacy clearly adores, and writes with admirable aplomb. There’s a lot of emotion surrounding the love affair, Henry’s medical situation, and Ethan’s ex-wife. In short, there is plenty to retain the reader’s interest and in fact, I had a really hard time putting the book down!

My only complaint is the unprotected intimacy that takes place in the heat of the moment. I was pretty shocked that would be a thing in this day and age, honestly, and particularly with a doctor being one of the participants (and furthermore, one old enough to know better). That really bothered me, to the extent that I have subtracted half a star. Otherwise it was great, and while it definitely could be read as a standalone, I highly recommend starting this series from the beginning to meet all the residents – lovely, lively, and certifiable – of Nugget. I received an advance copy in return for my honest review.

This book is #11 in the Nugget series, but you do not need to read the other books first. It can be a stand alone novel.

I really, really enjoyed this romance novel. It was easy to like both the main characters and to see their relationship develop. The town of Nugget, California, is also a main part of the book and it was also easy to like - beautiful scenery, good people, and the small town community.

I would recommend this book.

ᴅᴇsᴄʀɪᴘᴛɪᴏɴ: After an accident that caused her husband’s death and her son Henry’s serious leg injuries, Brynn Barnes and her child move to Nugget, California to receive the help of Dr. Ethan Daniels, a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon. Though neither Brynn nor Ethan are looking for love, love may be exactly what they need.

ᴛʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛs: Stacy Finz is able to create such a strong character out of Brynn, who shows utmost resilience no matter the trials the came her way. She perfectly describes a mother’s love and the sacrifices she is willing to go through for the happiness of her own child. In addition, the author also shows the power of having people support you, and the wonders it can do to one’s spirit and strength. Dr. Daniels, along with the rest of the community, were both rocks to Brynn and Henry. It made me wish I lived in a small town so that I can get a taste of this sense of community only small towns have.

I also really liked Joey’s character, Dr. Daniels’ ex-wife. She represented someone who has made mistakes and has gone through so much to change her ways. Her addition to the narrative really highlighted problems that are real and that people are experiencing today.

Although I haven’t read the past novels in the Nugget series, I was able to enjoy Choosing You as a standalone books. I hope to visit Nugget once again and follow Joey’s story!

A hunky surgeon who is also a wealthy cowboy and a single dad. He’s also a kind-hearted, thoughtful, and caring man. Who could want more in a romantic hero? He’s even nice to his ex-wife who had a drug problem and almost caused him to lose his medical license! Basically, Ethan walks on romance-novel water.

Brynn is a loving mother whose husband died in an ATV accident that also left her young son crippled. Ethan is the only orthopedic surgeon in the country who has a chance of helping her son walk again.

Can love be far behind? These are two attractive single parents who are also good people. And both are very good-looking people at the top of their chosen professions. Of course, they’re going to fall in love.

This was my first novel about the tiny California town of Nugget which seems to attract also sorts of good-looking people who are also creative and wealthy and good-hearted. Isn’t that fortunate? No wonder Brynn loves staying there.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

i really liked this story. The only thing from not giving it 5 stars was Brynn's whining. Ethan also could have been more strong. Ultimately they got where they needed to go. Always read a book that takes place in Nugget

Enjoyable romance between Ethan, a surgeon who is overseeing an experimental clinical trial and Brynn, the mother who brings her seriously injured son to him to treat. It's against the rules for Ethan and Brynn to get involved but their connection is too strong. They've each been burned in past relationships but this time things seem a lot different. Recommended.

My first read of this small town Nugget, California. Book cover was love at first sight, just magical, like the whole story in this tight community and beautiful landscape. Brynn comes from big city to small town in not so know part of California because of the clinical trial which might help her son improve his mobility. But Nugget might also heal Brynn heart after the accident which took away her husband and his sons' father. Dr. Daniels is the world renowned surgeon and Brynns' hope for his son and maybe to her broken soul. Will there be a happy ending for them all?

If you love small town book stories, with beautiful landscape and sense of community this book is for you. I also loved the bond main characters had with their children, despite their differences, the wellbeing of the child always came first. But for me, the whole story was too slow and nothing dramatic really happened. I believe if I read this book in some different time of my life I would love it. Happy reading to all.

I received my copy of Choosing You by Stacy Finz from Netgalley for an honest review. Brynn brings her son to Ethan after he was injured in an accident that killed his father. Ethan is a surgeon doing experimental operations to help with bone fractures. He has custody of his daughter after coming out of a terrible marriage. They begin to get close, but have conflicting feelings because of outside forces. It was a good read and it was great to catch up with other residents in Nugget.

Brynn Barnes lost her husband in an accident that left her young son, Henry, severely injured. Refusing to accept a fate that will keep her son in a wheelchair, Brynn turns all of her focus on making sure Henry walks again. Brynn takes them to Nugget, CA where Dr Ethan Daniels, the country’s top children’s orthopedic surgeon is running a clinical trial that could help Henry. Dr. Daniel’s also just happens to be kind, handsome, single, and raising his young daughter on his own after a bitter divorce. Neither are looking for love, but love may be exactly what they need.

The author has set up a picturesque backdrop for this sweet romance story. Nugget, CA has a funny and close knit town of characters. In fact, I wouldn’t mind living there myself.

One of my biggest pet peeves with romance stories is insta-love, so I was pleasantly surprised to find this was not that type of story. The progression between Ethan and Brynn’s relationship felt realistic, even dealing with the ethics between a doctor dating his patients mother, and the return of the ex-wife.

I did find myself questioning Henry’s injuries at times, mainly when he is put on a horse so easily and with no pain from the injury he had, but it wasn’t something that ruined the story for me at all.

With a cast of lovely side characters, two sweet children, and realistic romance, this was a quick and enjoyable read.

Stacy Finz strikes gold again in her Nugget, California series. This series is set in a charming, scenic town with a cast of interesting real life characters. The author catches your interest from the first page to the last with vivid descriptions that make you feel as if you are there and shares emotions that run from sadness to joy, and of course, romance. As always, I am eagerly looking forward to the next story that Stacy Finz gifts her readers.

I promised myself that I wasn’t going to get hooked on any new series, but I could not put this book down!!! I absolutely loved it! I felt every single emotion and found myself thinking about visiting the quaint little town of Nugget.

I have read a book by this author before and when I saw that she had a new book coming out, I decided that it wouldn’t hurt to read it. I am so glad that I did.

This is a beautiful story of Brynn and her son He tu making a trip to get into a medical study with Dr Daniels. The cottage they stay at during the treatments just so happens to be at Dr Daniels’ ranch. Love ensues!!!!

It’s a beautiful story with absolutely wonderful characters!! Take a trip to Nugget California and lose yourself in this beautiful HEA!!!

Choosing You is a feel good, entertaining and touching return to Nugget. Ethan and Brynn are both dealing with shadows and baggage from the past, as well as pressing issues of the present. A relationship would be unethical between the doctor and his patient’s mother, but the chemistry and connection they feel can’t be denied. Welcome to the wonderful community of Nugget! This is a beautiful, emotional, and captivating story!

‘Choosing You’ by Stacy Finz is a serendipitous romance that creates a bright future for two lonely souls who have loved and lost. Due to be published February 9, 2021, this is a perfect read in time for Valentine’s Day.

Stacy Finz has written a fantastic romance novel set in picturesque Nugget, California featuring two lost souls who, in always putting others first, finally get a chance at love for themselves. The characters are the heart and soul of this book. Finz has masterfully crafted true to life people who face difficult circumstances and then writes to show us how we should live. How refreshing to have positive, realistic characters who don’t moan and complain about their circumstances, but look for solutions and get on with life. The plot is unique in that it focusses on the aftermath of Henry’s accident that leaves him needing Dr. Ethan Daniels’s expertise. The romance, although too hot and steamy at times, rounds out the main storyline wonderfully. Adding the ex-wife to the cast creates torn loyalties for readers; they’ve become invested in the new romance and yet they see the need for Roni to have Joey around full time. The suspense she creates adds to the storyline.

I haven’t read the other books in this series, but was able to enjoy it as a stand alone novel. I’d definitely be open to reading more books by this author as I’m curious about the other lovely folks in Nugget.

Ethan is a doctor/cowboy. Brynn is a socialite/ad agency owner.. Can opposites attract? As always the town of Nugget steps up to enfold her injured son Henry and Brynn into their quirky town's group of wonderful residents.. As always Ms Finz makes the reader want to pack their bags and move to the town and meet with all the amazing characters she makes seem so real. Each and every member of the book's cast could easily be someone you've known and liked. It was a joy to return to Nugget and I'm hopeful this isn't the end of those visits.

I love this series more with each book I read. The author manages to tackle some of the darkest and hardest things life can throw at a person without making the story feel too melancholy or hopeless. In fact, she always manages to paint a little bit of hope for those characters who float around the main couple, which is such a great way to tease about future reads.

This time around, Ethan and Brynn have a few dilemmas. Children, medical issues, ex issues, and the pesky fact that a continent separates their permanent homes. As they make their way toward either happy or goodbye, Ethan’s ex tries to figure out a way back to her family. She just has no clue that her fantasy is more of a “used to be” than a “can be again”. The way that all three people waded through the very real worries of their days made for a read that I didn’t want to put down. And once they all found their way to either happiness or acceptance of themselves, I could only wish for the next book to find out what comes Joey’s way!

I love a great doctor romance novel. Having awesome, sweet children is an extra bonus.
Ethan and Brynn are so cute together but Ethan's ex is an awkward situation. I actually cringed a couple times.
