I really enjoyed this dual perspective missing person thriller. While the overall concept has been seen before, the author did a great job of putting her own spin on it. The novel kept me engaged and wanting to know what would happen next.

I was sure I posted my review a long time ago but I will post it again.

A compelling and entertaining read!!

Jace Montgomery has called the police to report his thirty-one-year-old wife, Tessa missing. He had worked late and when he arrived home he was shocked to find one of their windows broken with glass all over the floor.

Jace tells police he last interacted with Tessa earlier that day when she texted him to say she wasn't feeling well. When the police ask if there’s any problems in the marriage, Jace says there isn’t. He does tell them that they’ve only known each other a short time. They’ve been married for only four months.

We also hear from Tessa. We are given insight into her past and present life. She tells us how she has a type and how she’s had a hard time trying to break the cycle she's had with men.

So where is Tessa? Was this a robbery gone wrong or something much more sinister?

I really liked how this story was told. I liked reading the different perspectives. I got lucky with a couple of my guesses, but I still really enjoyed the story. I loved how everything came together. It was a gripping read and the suspense was full on right up until the end.

A well-written and intriguing domestic suspense novel. I am excited to read more from this author.

I'd like to thank the publisher for providing me with a copy of this novel. All opinions are my own.

Easy, quick read. Block out your afternoon - this book HOOKS you.
Jace comes home - blood and broken window. Where is his wife?
Tessa told Jace nothing about her past
Married weeks after meeting - Jace is the main suspect; the lack of police effort is terrifying.
Told from both Jace and Tessa's POV - well written and intense.

You have to drag yourself through this book until the end. The end is loaded of twists and turns and you are rewarded for sticking with the book but it’s hard to trudge through the beginning

I really wanted to like this book. I really enjoy thrillers but I was not happy with all of it. The twists for me were not something I could not guess. I did not like the characters and the physical abuse was sad. For me, the ending was good but overall I wanted more. *This book was given to me for free at my request from NetGalley and I provided this voluntary review.*

Wow. This gave me all the feels. And it was a debut???

I just looked up at the clock and somehow I’ve lost four hours. Not really lost, but I swear apart from one trip to the bathroom I didn’t put this book down once. Quick and suspenseful, it kept me guessing the whole time.

I’m not going to give anything away, but just know that when you pick up this book, things will seem to be pretty cut and dried for you. But the twists as you continue will make it so worth it to keep going. Ahhhhh loved it!

Thank you to NetGalley, Penzler Publishers and Jaime Lynn Hendricks for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review. Finding Tessa is available now.

This started off and reminded me of “Gone Girl”. There were similarities, the story does switch gears and molded into its own.
I enjoyed this book but wasn't ever blown away by its content. Something did end up shocking me and it had a great twist. I love stories like this though and I'm happy i read it. 3.75

I want to thank Netgalley and publisher for allowing me to read this!

The book jumps around in point of view as well as timeline which got a little confusing at times. I found the beginning of the book to be a very slow start. There were points that I considered giving up on reading it because I had lost interest. The book regains interest with about 50 pages left and throws a major twist at the reader at the very end. It left some loose ends that went unanswered.

This unfortunately was a DNF for me. I wanted to be drawn to Tessa's plight, the situation she left her abusive husband Jace to face the police for her possible murder, but ultimately I wasn't drawn to either character. Jace was left fumbling to stop the police accusing him for something he didn't do, as Tessa, having saved enough to make her escape, creates a fake ID, and starts afresh as far from him as she can get. Jace comes across as a little two dimensional and flat for me as a character. Tessa was much more interesting and very clever and adaptable - she's had to be with a past that includes another ex she's run away from and a difficult childhood. I wanted to get further into the novel but wasn't invested in either character to find out how it works out for them.

This was a quick read for me. The story line was twisty & good. Tessa and Jace Montgomery are newly married, very much in love but happiness is still out of their grasp. Tessa has been hiding from her past and although honest with Jace about it, he can not keep her safe. When kidnapped, Jace is devastated to find Tessa am even though he is the primary suspect.. It’s always the husband!! Could it be him? Could it be her ex? The story has many twists and turns. Can Tessa and Jace find happiness..so many possibilities.. It was interesting enough to keep me reading but it wasn’t my favorite thriller. Jamie Lynne Hendricks tells a very good story and I would read more of her books.. I always love a good thriller..

So glad I got approved for this until after reading it. I expected better. It was wildly predicable and that's gonna happen when you're a big thriller reader and isn't always a problem but here it was. I also wasn't a fan of the format. There were also tons of gramma issues. But over all it was a decent read that got dark.

Thank you Netgalley for this ARC of Finding Tessa by Jaime Lynn Hendricks.

Tessa has had a difficult life. Being abused as a child was a pipeline that lead her straight to being abused by her lovers, and once again she is on the run from her latest abuser.

Jace comes home one night to find that his new wife Tessa is missing, and he's terrified. Missing his new wife is one thing, but too many fingers are pointing at him and it's not boding well. Can Tess ever escape the monsters in her life?

This unfolded so well, and when certain unfolds finally reveal the truth, it's so satisfying. Great read, lots of unexpecteds. Enjoy!

This book was a pretty average thriller. I had a hard time understanding what was happening at times, because the story switched from his point of view to hers. It all came together at the end though.

Unlikeable characters usually only work for me if I can still relate to them on some level or at least feel some empathy for their plight. Sadly, I felt no spark of connection to these two at all, and really struggled with the snarky and disjointed writing style. It always pains me to DNF a book I have been gifted, especially one I had been alerted to by the glowing reviews of my reading buddies, but I also know when to cut my losses and decided to DNF at 30%. Not the right book for me at this time.
