What a nice find. This was the first book I've read from this author and I really enjoyed it. The story was different from anything I've read recently and really captured my attention. It was so well written and the characters were fantastic.

A wonderfully sweet romance in lockdown. The characters were believable, their situation was relatable and their connection was heartwarming. I really enjoyed this book and I would definitely recommend it to others.

This was a cute, funny, and simple romance. It was a bit weird to read about the beginning of quarantine, however. And the amount of talk of romance novels got a little repetitive and a bit too meta for me.

A book based on the lockdown! How exciting!

These were my exact thoughts when I requested this book. But it turned out to be a case of - Angela has a problem, Colin has a problem, both hate each other but try to help each other, then fall in love.

The End.

No chemistry between the lead characters. Extremely cliched dialogues and bratty behaviours.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

3 stars.

Loved the relevancy and totally a book of the times. It was ok. Thanks to Netgally and the publisher for early access in exchange for an honest review

Read this prior to release through NetGalley. This was a good fun, light hearted read. Reflective of the current pandemic, bringing humour, and highlighting the difficulties on relationships whilst social distancing. The characters are easy to warm to and their quirky habits just add to the humour! Definitely lifted my mood, easy to read and wanted to keep reading it to find out what happens. Would definitely recommend this book.

I had such high hopes for this one, because, you know, Covid and all. This one fell flat for me. I wanted a good quarantine romance to uplift my spirits. But maybe it is too soon for me, cause I put it down more than I wanted to read it.

This one didn't do it for me. At first I thought it was too close to home, still being amidst the pandemic, but as I read on, i realize it is because this was a great example of how good books show, don't tell. This felt like a telling-a walkthrough, step by step description of the character's lives as if they had written the events of each day in a journal. I didn't feel anything; that mark of a good book. Thanks to NetGalley for providing me this title.

Unfortunately I just didn't enjoy this one. The characters didn't grab my attention enough. I liked the side characters such as the elderly couple they were neighbours with. And the coffee shop lady.

This is the first book I've read about lockdown and that was interesting. But I was disappointed that the big twist was toilet roll hoarding.

I had high hopes going into this book, but was severely let down. That main characters had no depth and even less chemistry. I honestly couldn’t care if they made it or not in the end.

I was interested in reading a book set during the pandemic and I thought it was handled well. I maybe would have enjoyed this book more reading it a bit more in the future when we were out of lockdown as a form of reflection. But the romance was cute and I was rotting for the main characters which I always find is testament to a good romance. Overall it was a quick and enjoyable read.

I was provided eARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a delightful little romance! I thought it was cute and I really did enjoy the story and pacing.

It was cool to see a romance novel that kind of reflected the situation we were in (it has been kinda surreal to read books containing zero social distancing 🤣).

Also I really love books that have characters with interesting and niche jobs and radio DJ was very cool, I would very much like listen to Colin’s radio show (and I would 100% stay up to tune into Graveyard Danika).

It was a great little pick me up and an all in all cute read. I liked it enough to recommend but I don’t think I’d go back to read it again and again (which is my personal hallmark of an too notch romance). One thing about it for me is that for enemies there wasn’t a lot of tension. The animosity seemed rather bizarre and I almost wonder if it might’ve been better if it Colin and Angela were friends beforehand because the chemistry between them very much gave banterful friends who obviously (to everyone else but not each other) have the hots for each other rather than proper enemies. Also in as much as I enjoyed seeing a reflection of the pandemic in my novels, romance is very much an escape and reading about the pandemic and social distancing did almost trigger my fight or flight impulse. But other than it being set in a global pandemic, you’re looking for a wholesome and fluffy read, Love and Lockdown could work to scratch that itch!

I thought I'd be totally against a pandemic romance, but this one was actually more enjoyable than I thought it would be! A fun read, though a little too close to home when lately I've been using reading as an escape.

This book is so adorable! When Angela is about to be evicted during the pandemic, Colin offers her his spare room for free. Never mind that they can't stand each other—Angela's choices are limited, and Colin has an ulterior motive. But just like something out of the romance novels Angela secretly loves reading, the forced proximity promises to turn these enemies into lovers. Unless they do something stupid to screw it up.

I loved the quirky, fun characters in this book, and the gentle way the plot unfolded. This is a sweet romcom with no steamy scenes, but there's a strong undercurrent of sexual tension. It's a fun, low-angst read.

Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC I received. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I can't lie. I don't have much to say about this one. It was moderately okay but nothing to write home about. It wasn't necessarily bad either, it did have some funny moments and of course some relatable things too. I did find some elements of the plot to be a little... convenient and I had to noticeably suspend my disbelief more than I'd have liked but all in all it was an okay read.

This is an enemies to lovers, forced proximity with some themes of misunderstanding/secrets set during the pandemic and lockdown in a town near London. The heroine loses her job and is about to be evicted when her upstairs neighbour and almost nemesis offers her a room rent free. The hero is a DJ/RJ on an internet radio station, with a very demanding boss and she ends up helping him right a serialised romance based on their own living arrangements. And as most stories go, they fall in love in reality but are hindered by some secrets the hero is holding back.
This book started off pretty well, but the romance took so very long to develop, almost 60% of the novel passed before something truly romantic happened. I had to speed read through some parts and 14 chapters based on 14 days of quarantine seemed excessive. But the ending was satisfying enough, it was nice to see the hero and heroine growing from their pandemic experience, standing up to their selfish friends, judgemental families and moving out of their comfort zone to establish new habits and skills.

I have already given feedback on this book. I enjoyed reading this and deep down it was rather funny. Different idea and well executed.

Typically, as a lover of romance, I gravitate towards enemies to lovers books, but I have so far avoided reading lockdown books (I’m sure we all want to escape lockdowns by this point!) This isn’t something I would have typically picked up in a bookstore, however I’m happy that I gave this a try and it was nice to step out of my comfort zone to read something different within one of my favourite tropes. The book definitely lived up to its genre, with the cute romance and the comedic excerpts that had me laughing and feeling as though I was looking in on how lockdown was affecting my neighbours.

The story focuses on the main characters Angela and Colin and watches their relationship develop after Colin invites Angela to stay in his spare bedroom. The dynamic between Angela and Colin was sweet and made the characters likeable, although I wished their had been a little more chemistry in some places.

I definitely felt that I gelled a lot more with Colin’s character than Angela’s, as he was more likeable and seemed like the sort of person you could easily make friends with. Colin came across as being a hard worker, focusing on his radio show, and seemed really dedicated to something when he put his mind to it, such as planning cute dates. I felt that Angela seemed a little immature at times, but some people are like this or it could potentially be something that is exacerbated by her anxieties surrounding the lockdown, so it didn’t feel too out of place within the story, but I didn’t warm to her in the same way I did with Colin.

I felt as though the lockdown and social distancing rules took over Angela and Colin’s lives at times, which I know is reflective of how lockdowns have been, but I was hoping for something that was a little more in the form of escapism or made the situation feel a little lighter. I think given that this was a rom-com, I would have expected there to have been a little less focus on the lockdown rules.

I liked that this was written from different perspectives and even though Angela seemed to have 2 sides to her personality (affected by the anxiety surrounding the lockdown), I think the book effectively conveyed the different ways in which people have been affected by the lockdowns.

Overall this book was enjoyable and one that I would recommend to those looking for a sweet lockdown romance, with a sprinkling of comedy throughout!

I really wanted to like this book more than I actually did. The idea of love and lockdown appealed with the forced proximity that many of us are facing. However, I couldn't buy into the chemistry between the main characters, with Angela grating on me towards the end especially the way she acted towards Colin.

An easy read if you are looking for something light to escape to.

I’ve been looking forward to romance novels that incorporate quarantine and this one was really cute. It was enemies to roommates to lovers with forced proximity. Angela and Colin are neighbors in an apartment complex and Angela has always disliked Colin due to his thumping at all hours. Angela lost her job pre-quarantine and has no where to stay, so here comes Colin with a great offer. Use his spare bedroom but help him write a segment for his radio show. It really bothered me how embarrassed Angela was about reading romance novels. She hid them from her boyfriend, her friends, and Colin. She wanted to write one but how could she write one if she couldn’t even tell people she enjoyed them. I also thought Angela was super passive aggressive with Colin where she could’ve knocked on his doors two years ago and told him that his thumping bothered her. It also super bothered me that the cover is a skinny girl but in the book, she’s supposed to be a curvy girl (size 16). They should’ve done better with representation. Colin is super privileged but also pretty sweet even if it starts off for selfish reasons. I loved his chosen family of radio hosts that he talked through his problems. I also loved how much he helped with his elderly neighbors. Overall a cute story but I thought there could be some improvements to make it better.
