This was a fun and witchy read, which is exactly what I had in mind! Totally took my mind off things!
I enjoyed this book. The main characters are like friends. I enjoyed the interaction between them, especially Avery. I was fooled by who the bad guy was. The ending was great. #MrsMorrisandtheSorceress #NetGalley
Mrs. Morris and the Sorceress" the 4th instalment in the Salem B&B Mystery series by Traci Wilton. I love visiting Salem and Charlene’s B&B with its resident ghost Jack. The characters are becoming like old friends and I’m especially happy about the relationship Charlene is developing with young Avery almost like a surrogate daughter. I found Jacks and Charlene’s relationship weird at times not exactly sure why but it just did, but we want to feel emotions for the characters and be invested in the outcome. I love all the characters Charlene, Jack, Minnie, Sam and Avery and now I find myself adding Amy and Kass to my list.
The mystery is interesting, well plotted, with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing till the very end. I definitely was surprised by the ending and can’t wait for book 5 “Mrs. Morris and the Vampire “ coming out August, 2021.
I highly recommend this book to all my cozy lover friends.
I requested and received an advance reader copy of this book from Kensington Books and Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Mrs. Morris and the Sorceress is the 4th book in the Salem B&B series by Tracie Wilton. I do enjoy this series, with Charlene the B&B owner and her ghost, Jack. They have a relationship like The Ghost and Mrs Muir. Charlene sets up tours for her guests entertainment-- in this case a reenactment from the Revolutionary War. When the beautiful leading lady is killed the mystery is off and running. I appreciate the fast pace , the red herrings, and the cast of suspects to choose from. I did hope for more movement in Charlene's relationship with Tim....though she is beginning to realize the folly of interfering with his job. The characters have such distinct personalities and the friends hold each other up during the crisis---perfect small town flavor. I really enjoyed this book.
Kindle Copy from Net Galley and Kensington Books.
I received a free, advance copy of this book and this is my unbiased and voluntary review.
B & B owner Charlene Morris hears a gun going off when a movie stunt goes wrong and the actress ends up dead.
The actress was filming an Independence Day play about witchcraft some saying she had certain powers as well. She had one of her fellow actress jealous of her role as they felt they should have been the star.
It will be up to Charlene to figure out who wanted her dead the most. A delightful series with cats and ghosts.
Omg I love this cozy series so much! Silva is amazing. I'm so happy I got approved with this list I figured out how to put it on my kindle ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Through NetGalley, I received a free copy of Mrs. Morris and the Sorceress (Book 4 of the Salem B&B Mysteries) by Traci Wilton in exchange for an honest review. Charlene Morris owns a Victorian B&B in Salem, Massachusetts, and she shepherds her guests, as a group, to local events in addition to simply providing lodging and breakfast. Charlene and her guests attend the Fourth of July celebration; as part of the festivities, they watch a one-time-only showing of a play depicting a historic event. During the second act, the incredibly beautiful star of the play is shot dead while on stage in front of the entire crowd. Charlene and her resident ghost Jack assist Detective Sam Holden in identifying the culprit. The actress’s beauty was only skin deep; since she was as ugly inside as she was gorgeous outside, it’s going to be difficult to separate the killer from those who wanted to kill her.
I haven’t read the prior books, so there were a few surprises. Overall, I had no trouble following the story or keeping the characters straight. I recommend this book to fans of cozy mysteries featuring murder, holiday festivities, plays, actors, historic events, and ghosts.

Charlene and Jack are back at it again when actress, Madison Boswell is shot in broad daylight at an outdoor Fourth of July play.
Madison's ugly personality sure has the suspect list pretty long, but Charlene quickly jumps to find out who the murderer is.
All our favorite characters are back. Detective Sam Holden, Minnie, and Silva the cat.
Silva is my personal favorite as she's always up to her cat antics.
Charlene learns alot in this book. She finally realizes that she has been taking too many risks in trying to solve this case. Her relationship with Jack Strathmore is so bittersweet, because they have sparks between them even though he is nothing more than a ghost. As a reader, I want this relationship so bad, but the feelings she has for Detective Sam Holden are strong too. Will she ever get to put her whole heart into either man? I can't wait to see what Charlene endures next. Everytime I read these books by Traci Hall and Patrice Wilton I am completely swept away and enthralled in the wonderful stories they write. They are a powerful duo and write so beautifully together.
Charlene Morris owns Charlene's, a mansion in Salem, MA she turned into a B&B. She also seems to get into trouble a lot trying to solve murders. Her sidekick in her investigations is Jack Strathmore's ghost. Jack was the previous owner of the mansion. I like how Charlene logically works on the investigations. She manages to get clues just by talking to people and being nice. Once again Charlene manages to put herself in danger but also solves the case. I really enjoy this series.
I really enjoyed this book, I love everything about Salem, Massachusetts, so this series is a home run for me.
Charlene owns a quaint bed & breakfast in Salem, and she’s always ready to go the extra mile for her guests.
Charlene’s b & b is also the home of Jack, the ghost of the deceased homeowner. Charlene seems quite infatuated with Jack, which is sort of sweet, but I hope it doesn’t continue much longer. I don’t think it would allow Charlene to grow as a character, which would be a shame.
I think this is a fun, fast paced story that cozy mystery fans will really enjoy.
Love everything Salem so this is a fun series for me. Tying into the American Revolution even better. Wonderful characters, great setting, a touch of the paranormal makes for a great read!

Don't expect a totally unbiased review: we are American Revolutionary War folks and Independence Day is our High Holy Day. So when a new book in a fun cozy series has its murder on that day... Well, what can you expect? The publisher's blurb is a good hook, so no need for a recap or spoilers. Charlene Morris is a fairly recent widow who bought a marvelous old mansion which she operates as a B&B in the historic town of Salem, Massachusetts and enjoys the company of a wonderful man who is a rather progressive ghost. That's important because he is more helpful to the amateur sleuth than the local law. The series is amazing and so is her sleuthing. Loved it!
I requested and received a free temporary ebook from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you!
I received this ARC via Netgalley and Kensington Books, in return for an honest review. While the fourth book in this series, it is easily read as a standalone. This is a lovely cozy mystery, set in Salem, MA. Charlene Morris, B&B owner, escorts a group of guests to the first performance of a new play about Salem’s role in the run up to the American Revolution. When one of the actors is shot during the play, Charlene decides that she and her resident ghost, Dr. Jack, can help the police by actively looking at the photos a guest took, as well as the video she shot before and during the performance. Turns out, the murder victim left her own trail of victims and challenges in her short life, from fellow thespians to family members to lovers. Can Charlene and Jack solve the case before someone decides Charlene should join Jack in the afterlife?
This was an enjoyable story, mixing a cozy mystery with a bit of otherworldliness of Jack’s presence and abilities. Charlene is torn between her friendship with Jack, the ghost, and the on/off possibility of something more with real-life detective, Sam, who doesn’t believe in ghosts. I like Charlene’s mentoring of her teenaged part-time worker, Avery, who had a very rough upbringing and now lives in a group home. By having a B&B, the author allows for a range of personalities to enter and leave, which is always fun for storyline changes.
Love the character development in this series. Little cozy mystery and little paranormal mix. Great easy fun read.
Charlene Morris is hosting a group of guests at her B&B over the Fourth of July and has seats for everyone to see the one time play about Salem’s contribution to the American Revolution. Everyone is in the spirit and as the second act opens, one of the replica rifles is dropped and discharges, leaving the lead actress dead, shot right through the heart.
It is soon discovered that the rifles did not contain active ammunition, meaning someone shot the actor from the crowd. Getting her guests back to the B&B and providing any assistance she and her resident ghost can to help the police find the murderer are Charlene’s top priorities. She can’t help getting involved when she witnessed the murder take place, it’s just part of who she is, but this time she may have stuck her nose in one time too many. Can Charlene and Jack help find the murderer or will Charlene be joining Jack and haunting the mansion for ever as a couple?
I love all things Salem and this series makes me happy. From the B&B to the cat, Silva, to the history shared about some piece of Salem’s history in each book, it always delivers along with a solid and well crafted mystery. One of my favorite series and regardless of the season the story is set in, it’s ALWAYS a good time for a visit to Salem
