A story that begins lightly. It revolves around a mystery, of a man Jack/Ash and his mysterious amnesia. Whatever memories he still has in his head, bring him to his sister Maya, who has been missing him for two years. Though Jack/Ash left on his own accord, Maya doesn't tell the whole story why he left, so he has to try and unravel some of his past mysteries. And then there's Lily, current girlfriend of Jack/Ash. With her own secret past, and after she finds out about Jack/Ash's lies she has to figure out where their relationship stands and if Lily really wants to help him recover his memories.
What I really liked about this book was the obsession story. It was such underrated part, untill it wasn't. It literally went from 0 to a 100 in such a short span. I wish it was more obvious, a little bit more explored earlier in the book.
The story overall was well written, even if all of the characters weren't really fleshed out completely. It kept me on my toes. The end did wrap up too fast for my liking. And too neatly. I wished for a little bit more.
You Will Remember Me has a solid premise that intrigued me right from the start. I've always liked amnesia stories, so this one grabbed me with the blurb. The question is whether it held on with the execution and it did. Now, here's where I tell you that this one was pretty predictable, because it was - until it wasn't. That ending blew me away, and that doesn't happen very often. Honestly, the whole thing, predictable or not, was interesting. Even when I was sure I knew where things were going, the author painted a picture I wanted to keep looking at. So, I'd have to say that this one was definitely thrilling, and I'll certainly be reading more by this author.
Hannah Mary McKinnon has done it again. Taken me on a wild ride all the way to the dramatic, very unexpected, ending of a great book. She never ever disappoints me with her work.
This is truly a book that will keep you turning the pages. Keep you wanting to know what happens next. Who is who and what is real. You will want to know if these characters are who they say they are. If they all have hidden agendas. Who can be trusted and who is out for themself. Is it him, her, them, or a total stranger. How many have to die to find the answers?
An edge of your seat triller that will not let you go. This book is excellent. One that will put a little fear in your heart. A little hope only to have that squashed a few times. You will wonder if anyone will ever find out the truth. Will anyone have to pay for the things they have done or just keep on going on with their life.
The characters in this book are for the most part very likable. Very easy to understand. It's even easy to see why some did the things they did. There is a lot of mistrust going on and with good reason. A whole lot of lies to keep you trying to figure out what exactly happened. Even before the "accident" who were these people. Was there more than one murder or was everything else as it appears.
This is a great book if you love thrillers that keep you holding your breath. I loved it from start to finish. Actually hated to see it end. But what an ending it was. One I didn't expect for sure.
Thank you to #NetGalley, #HannahMaryMcKinnon, #Harlequin for this ARC. This is my own true feelings about this book.
5/5 stars and a very high recommendation.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Mira Books for gifting me a digital ARC of the latest psychological thriller by Hannah Mary McKinnon - 4.5 stars for a tense read with quite the ending!
A man wakes up on a beach in Maryland with a gash in his head and no memory of who he is and how he got there. Flashes come back and he remembers his hometown in Maine so he makes his way there. Meanwhile, Lily is at home waiting for her boyfriend, Jack, to come back from a swim. When his truck is found near the beach with no sign of Jack, she is sick with worry. When she finds out Jack has been lying to her, she's on a mission to find him and understand. In Maine, Myra has been searching for her stepbrother, Asher, for years with no luck. When he shows up suffering from amnesia, Myra will do anything to keep him close to her this time.
Told from the points of view of these three characters, this is a book that is hard to put down. You may figure out some things but there is no way you will figure out the ending until you turn the last page. Everyone has secrets and ulterior motives - you will love to hate these characters!
I received a complimentary copy of YOU WILL REMEMBER ME by Hannah Mary McKinnon as part of a Let’s Talk Books promotional tour! Thank you to Harper Collins and the author!
YOU WILL REMEMBER ME begins with a man waking up on a beach in Maryland with no memory of who he is and how he got there. He winds up in Maine where people know him and soon he’s back home with his step-sister Maya, attempting to recover his memories. Not everyone is happy to see him, though, and he is left to question what exactly he has done in his past.
Back in Maryland, Lily has been searching for her boyfriend Jack who disappeared during a storm. As far as she knows Jack has no family, but the search quickly begins to uncover secrets that Jack was keeping for unknown reasons.
This book is one that is really hard to review because I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. I really enjoyed how the author handled the amnesia story line. The way the characters draw upon memories, true and false, was really well done. This kept me questioning things throughout the book and it was a very hard book to put down.
The ending brought quite the twist and it is the main area of the book that I’m still questioning. It is hard to say a lot about this without spoilers, but I think the ending made a lot of sense for the story. Still, I’m not entirely sure how I feel about it! I did really appreciate that it managed to throw some surprises my way!
This is a dark and twisty ride and an absolute page turner! This was my first book by Hannah Mary McKinnon, but this definitely has me wanting to pick up more. YOU WILL REMEMBER ME is out now!
Amnesia storylines are not usually my favorite thing in a thriller but there was something about the description of this one that urged me to give it a chance. Initially when I started this I was intrigued by the three viewpoints and the mystery surrounding all of them. By about a quarter of the way through I started to get a little bit bored and I even debated on setting it aside, but again, something kept telling me to give it a little more time. I’m glad I did because things got better in the end.
One of the reasons I almost gave up on this was I predicted many of the things that happened along the way. I think many thriller readers will be able to do the same, BUT the ending was so strong for me that I think it was worth it. I was almost lulled into a false sense of security having seen things coming ahead if time so when the last couple of chapters arrived with some true surprises, I was very pleased. If you don’t mind having some patience this could work for you, I am happy I finished and applaud the author for a satisfying and dark conclusion.
3.5/5
Gripping, fast-paced and unexpecting.
This book was mind-blowing good, it was twisty, dark, engaging, chilling and impossible to put down.
I was wholy immmersed since the first chapter and it just kept getting better.
I need to read more from this author.

OMG, I'm sittring here literally right after finishing this book and that last damn 5% GOT ME. *insert weird happy dance with a creepy smile* Ok y'all. If you're a thriller lover and haven't read McKinnon yet, what the hell are you waiting for? Now, I had a couple of her books for AGES before I finally picked one up and legitimately kicked myself in the ass after I read Neighbors for waiting so damn long. This is my 4th book by this author and I love, LOVE, her wicked mind.
Your boyfriend disappears one night after going for a swim. In your frantic search for him, you find that he isn't quite the person you thought he was but you need answers so after Nancy Drewing yourself around his place, you stumble on a way to find him and lo and behold ... there he is but he doesn't remember a damn thing. F*CK! But he's not the only one with secrets, is he?
Look y'all - again, McKinnon hooks me from the get go and honestly, I was enjoying the ride but was thinking I've read similar before. Let's see how we get to the point where surely a, b and c are going to happen... what I wasn't expecting was that last part, with an excellent epilogue that made my dark heart very, VERY happy. For pure entertainment and a damn good time, I give it all the stars.
Oh, and McKinnon, I read the Q&A at the end of the Reader's Guide and I was cackling creepily as well during that one part. 😉
This story has all the twists and turns and creepy, atmospheric plot to keep you turning the pages.
It is a multi-faceted love story, first between a step-sister and her older, handsome, step-brother, Asher. His father and her mother fall in love when the kids were 12 and 15 and Maya develops an instacrush on Ash. He has girlfriends but then goes on to leave their hometown in Maine when he meets his new partner, Lily. They develop a life together in Maryland but both have things from their past that they are trying to escape. One day Ash goes for one of his nightly swims and then goes missing. Lily is desperate to discover what happened to him and decides to search for him.
This plot is well thought out and intriguing. I enjoyed the interactions and pacing of the story as well. The characters were true to themselves throughout the story. This has a love story, a mystery, unreliable narrators and multiple POVs. There is a lot here for anyone that enjoys a psychological thriller.
Definitely recommend.

A man wakes up on a beach with a gash on his head. He does not remember anything - how he got there, his name, life, or family.
Lily Reid's boyfriend Jack goes missing one day. She starts looking for him and as she is going though his stuff, she begins to question if she really knows him at all.
Maya Scott's estranged stepbrother has gone missing and she is still looking for him. And one day, he came home. Now Maya must make sure her secrets stay buried so that he will stay.
Sounds amazing and mysterious right?? The author weaves one brilliant story through these three different POVs and let me tell you - it was mind blowing!
This was my first book by this author and it will not be my last. The plot is clever, engaging storytelling and each chapter ends with a cliff hanger - I had to keep reading!
I think the characters are pretty well done too and I liked the reading conflicts and relationships between them.
Although there were parts which were somewhat predictable, overall this was an enjoyable, fast-paced, gripping thriller!

***Thank you Harlequin - Trade Publishing (U.S & Canada), author Hannah Mary McKinnon, Let's Talk Book Promo and NetGalley for gifted review copy to read & review. ***
What I like:
✔️ Multiple POVs - I love being inside the minds of these narrators!
✔️ Suspenseful chapters - The book was written so well you just wanna devour the whole book!
✔️ Character with amnesia - This topic is tricky. You never know what to expect from people with memory loss. Definitely adding to thriller factor!
✔️ The ending - Not everyone will agree with me on this one. It’s not your typical ending with jaw-dropping twists, BUT I assure you, your jaw will still drop!😱
What I didn’t like:
✖️The minimal roles of some characters. I thought they could have had more active participation in the story. But this is just me playing favorites!😁
Best emoji for this book: 💅🏼🔫
(If you know, you know!🤣)
Overall, this is a delightful, fast-paced thriller that I absolutely enjoyed! Thriller fans, be sure to add this to your tbr!
A man wakes up on the beach without any memory of who he is or how he got there. While he tries to figure out his identity, his girlfriend Lily searches for the truth about what happened to him. She refuses to believe that he drowned and conducts her own search into his disappearance. When she finds out that he is not who he said he was and that he has a dark past, she must decide whether to pursue the relationship. When Maya claims that Lily’s boyfriend, Jack, is actually her brother, the two women face off in a fight for the love of the same man.
This book is unfortunately not a stand out among other thrillers that deal with memory loss. The reader is able to predict where the story is headed the entire way to the end. The only question that lingers is whether or not the villain will get away with committing the crimes. That being said, it just didn’t wow me in any kind of way. I was also unable to become invested in any of the characters and found myself not really caring what happened to them. I really enjoyed McKinnon’s The Neighbors and Sister Dear, and highly recommend them to those who are intrigued by her writing.

Thank you to NetGalley, Hannah Mary McKinnon and Harlequin for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review.
I am a huge fan of McKinnon as an author and a person; she is one of those authors that keep getting better and better with each novel that she writes. This one is hands down my favorite of hers thus far! It's a dark and twisty novel that leaves you scrambling to get to the end to see what exactly happens. There are so many good twists scattered throughout the novel and that ending was SHOCKING! I loved how different the ending was from what I thought was going to happen. I wholeheartedly recommend this one if you want a quick paced, twisty summer read!
McKinnon was born in the UK, grew up in Switzerland and now calls Ontario home. Her previous releases include "Sister Dear" and 'The Neighbours". In this new release, another psychological thriller, we meet Jack (also known as Ash) when he wakes up on a beach with a head injury and no memory. His girlfriend Lily call the police and reports him missing and begins her own desperate search. In Maine, Ash's stepsister has not seen or heard from her stepbrother in years and wants him back in her life. When these three figures meet up in a small town in Maine, everyone's secrets are exposed and one of the three will stop at nothing to get their way. This is a good recommendation for fans of the genre, but I was disappointed with the ending.
A man without his memory ... a heartbroken girlfriend ... a devious sister ... gaslighting ... so many lies ... and a shocking ending !
Thank you to @hannah and @harpercollinsca for an opportunity to read You Will Remember Me . I really enjoyed this story and the journey to that surprise ending !
4.5 ⭐️
You Will Remember Me was fast-paced and entertaining. I can definitely see why Hannah Mary McKinnon is so popular! I finished the audio in just a day.
The audio added to the mystery of the book: I loved the three different narrators, and couldn’t wait to find out which one was unreliable. I liked that Man on the Beach wasn’t given a name so we didn’t necessarily know who he was, and I appreciated that the voices of Maya and Lily were different narrators so that we could easily tell them apart. I would definitely recommend listening to the audio of this book.
I didn’t find any of the characters to be likable, but I don’t think it’s necessary to connect with the characters in a thriller. You never know who the unreliable narrator is going to be! The relationship between Maya and Ash was definitely icky, so I liked Maya the least. Everyone was hiding something, and I couldn’t wait to see how all of their secrets would play out!
At times this book was a little too predictable, but the twisted ending made up for everything I saw coming a mile away. I enjoyed the unpredictable conclusion. Maybe I’ve just read too many amnesia books at this point!
I haven’t read anything else by this author yet, but I can’t wait to add her backlist to my TBR.
Thank you to Let's Talk Books Promo, Mira Books and NetGalley for an advanced reader copy as well as to HarperAudio for an advanced listener’s copy in exchange for my honest review.
3.5 STARS - This was a compelling story about hidden pasts and manipulation with a capital M! The story is told from three POVs - Jack, a young man with a dark past who suddenly wakes up, battered on a beach, with no recollection of who he is; Lily, Jack's girlfriend, who is desperate to find him when he suddenly disappears from her life and finally, Maya, Jack's stepsister who has been searching for her brother for years.
The plot is fairly predictable and there are a couple of serendipitous elements that require readers to suspend disbelief (particularly how Jack/Ash finds his way back to the small town where he grew up). But if you can get past that, this is an entertaining read and I particularly loved that McKinnon swings for the fences with a chilling, gasp-worthy ending that I didn't see coming.
The cast is small (and largely unlikable) and includes a dastardly 'baddie' who could give a Master class in manipulation. Whether its emotional, verbal, physical or psychological - they have got it covered. Eeks!
For me this was less of a thriller and more of a psychological drama since the reader is privy to the identity of the culprit early on, but still an engaging, page-turner of a read. Filled with lies, accusations, subterfuge, and deception, this is a story about manipulation and the darker side of love. Look for it May 25, 2021!

YOU WILL REMEMBER ME By Hannah Mary McKinnon
Fiction thriller
352 pages
In Hannah Mary Mckinnon's new book we have a tragic story of a man who loses his memory and his insane, crazy journey to get it back. Jack Smith goes out for a swim one night and never returns. His girlfriend Lily Reid is worried to death & gets an investigation with the police going. Lily and Jack have been together for 2 years and she thought she knew him but it turns out she know nothing about him not even his name.
OMG this book is so messed up but sooo good at the same time. I loved how this author keeps you in the dark for half of the book and then springs everything in you!!!!!!!!! This is am amazing story with some manipulate characters and you will love it just as much as I do. I highly recommend this book
One person, three stories, three names and one truth.
In Maryland a man wakes up on the beach with no idea who he is or what he happened to him. He has a giant cut on his head but nothing else around him.
After hours of waiting for her boyfriend to show up for their date and with a horrible storm rolling through, Lily calls police to report him missing.
After years of no communication Maya is beyond ecstatic when he brother walks back into town.
This psychological thriller is one for the books! It is super fast paced and told from multiple view points which I love! The amount of secrets, lies and eye opening moments is truly impressive! Yes there were predictable moments but I just couldn’t put it down!
This has an intriguing opening. A man wakes up on the beach with a gash on his head and can't remember what happened to him or his name.
Meanwhile, Lily is waiting for her boyfriend, Jack, to come over. When he doesn't show, she starts to worry and look for him. She contacts the police, who soon find that Jack's license is fake.
There is also a third POV from Maya, who is looking for her missing step-brother, Asher.
I enjoyed reading all three point of views. A couple of times, I found myself nodding and thinking, "That's what happened." This is my first book by this author and I can see why she is so popular. The story had twists and I could guess some of them, but the dark ending floored me. What did I just read?
I will definitely be reading this author's backlist!
