The SEAL's Surprise Baby
Hartsville's SEAL Heroes, Book 2
by Leslie North

A reasonably well written book. A good fast moving plot that keeps you on your toes from the beginning through the characters are a bit disappointing compared to the storyline. 3.5/5

Leslie North consistently brings great characters and passionate romance to life. As a big fan North's, her name provokes an automatic one-click from me. I am always entertained.

A light easy to read romance with a sweet story. SEAL and analyst paired together on a mission end up with so much more than Intel. Five months after giving birth Anderson finds out he is a dad to sweet baby Nate. Only problem is someone is after Violet and Nate so they have to run and hide with a baby in tow. Determined to protect his child and his mother can Anderson finally find what he has never had before a family.

An intelligent brave woman who doesn't need help, a SEAL with a need to protect no wonder sparks fly. Loved the characters and was a nice easy escapism read.

As always with Leslie: good things come in three. So after The SEAL’s Convenient Wife we now move to Patrick’s SEAL buddy Anderson. After one night of passion over a year ago, Anderson suddenly is confronted with the result of that night: Nate, his son of five months old.
Viola and Anderson where colleagues on a secret mission. And although they disliked each other, their chemistry was of the charts. And the end result: a wonderful baby boy. Viola had hesitated to tell Anderson of his son, because he had made it very clear during their time on the mission that he never wanted to become a father. Having had a very bad role model, Anderson is convinced he can never be a good father.

But now, Viola realized that she should give Anderson a chance to at least meet his son. And when Viola and Nate are being threathened, Anderson starts to realize that maybe, just maybe, he is father material after all.

Suspense, romance and sparks flying. What’s not to love? Four out of four stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This was a quick easy read. I enjoyed that the couple and baby were forced to spend time together so that Anderson could see that he is Father material.

It does take a lot, and I mean a lot, of suspended disbelief as to the threat of why they are hiding. Also, Leslie frequently talks to her mom over the phone while in hiding which I find weird.

I thought it was cute overall and will probably read the next book when the mood strikes me.

It began in Russia. Anderson and Violet were on a job. The attraction proved to strong for them to resist on their last night. Then along came baby Nate. Anderson meets his son 5 months after his birth when Violet shows up at his doorstop to ask for help. She feels she is being followed. While speaking with Anderson a car drives by and riddles her car with bullets. The three of them go on the run and pull in favors to help them figure out if the Russian's are after them.

This was my first read of Leslie North's but it won't be my last.

I do recommend this book.

I received this arc from Netgalley for an honest review:
This is the second book of three and is totally different than the first. Here you mystery, suspense, and some drama as well as a romance. The romance that neither one of these two people wanted has come together because they worked together in Russia. Now Violet is in Anderson’s home with his son, while he is trying to all of the pieces together after coming home from his mission, they hear gunfire and after he realizes that these people are after Violet, he now knows he needs to do something. Everything changes when he figures out that they are after both of them.
Now the story has them running for their lives while protecting their child and working on finding the people behind the attack on them. You also have the two of them becoming closer together something neither one wanted at the beginning of the story. Watch how both of these loners become a team not just in the field but also in the home. Will they stay together? Read this fast-paced story to find out.

I enjoyed this. It was a fun, quick read with a great plot.
Normally I enjoy Leslie North's Characters more than her plots but this was a complete flip on that. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through - the action, the tension. It was amazing and extremely well fleshed out in comparison to the previous one in the series and for the length of the novel.
As I said, the characters fell a little flat for me but I would quite happily take that for once because the plot was so much better than the last book.
The romance was sweet but felt a little forced and unbelievable. Nate was my favorite character surprisingly. I usually don't like babies but this one was different because he was written in a great way. As usual, I really enjoyed Leslie North's writing style. I actually didn't anticipate liking this novel very much. As I mentioned, babies aren't a big draw to a book for me but this was a very pleasant surprise and I am excited to read the last in the series.

When Anderson opens his door an finds Violet there with a baby in her arms she asks if she can come in she needs to talk to him.He looks at the baby an knows that its his son just by looking at him .he's not ready to be a father truthfully he doesn't think he'll ever be ready.Violet says he was deployed when she found out and she at first didn't know what to do but she felt he had the right to know if he doesn't want to be involved with them she'll raise him on her own as a single mother before he has a chance to answer someone starts shooting an he pushes her down covering her an the baby.Someone is trying to kill Violet an he's going to protect her an the baby with everything he can. There are so many twists an turns to this story you will be riveted til the very last page and it will leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes an you can feel their emotions an their pain.

Ignore the cover and title, this is actually a pretty good read. It is typical with the requisite HEA, but includes not only the SEAL but the mob, so there is drama, mystery, angst, romance and steam. Add this to your TBR list.

Anderson's just back with a mission when a former co worker showed up on his steps and told him he had a son. But Anderson's had no desire to be a father because the way his father and all fathers were in his family. Violet was determined that he would be a great father but she had to prove it and show him it was the fear that he was doubting not the love.

Love this author. Once again a good story line. A surprise for Anderson and Violet and Nate need protection. Anderson finds that he can be a good father. Violet finds love and a family.

Anderson doesn't think he has what it takes to be a good father. Violet doesn't try to persuade him otherwise. She lets him come to the realizations that he is in fact a great dad on his own just letting him do things naturally while also getting to know their son. What a great book.
