Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author, for an ARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.
The synopsis of this book sounded interesting to me so I requested a copy to read.
Unfortunately, I have tried reading this book on 2 separate occasions and during this 2nd attempt, I have
decided to stop reading this book
and state that this book just wasn't for me.
I wish the author, publisher and all those promoting the book much success and connections with the right readers.

Super cute, modern day, fairytale (you’ve got mail) story. This is the first book that I’ve read from this author. I really liked it. I thought the chemistry between Gracie and Sebastian, and Lady and Sir, was prefect. I love that it’s a clean read (no sex), but I prefer to have clean language also. My typical reads are Christian based. I thought the writing was great and the story held my attention throughout the entire book. It was a fun and flirty read and I look forward to reading more from this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I think this was the best "You've Got Mail" inspired romance that I've ever seen or read. It's the perfect summer read, sweet and full of heart. Gracie is a people pleaser, cheerful and giving, always trying to smooth the waters and make everyone else's lives easier while ignoring her own needs and desires, although now that she's in her 30's she's starting to realize she needs to do more for herself. Sebastian is only seen through his actions and his texts (the book is written from Gracie's POV only), but he comes across as a genuinely decent guy, who has also always conformed to his family's expectations, but wants to move beyond that and claim his own life.
When they meet, they both feel an instantaneous pull toward each other that they can't explain, because neither realizes that they've been anonymously texting each other through a blind dating app for months. The texting started by mistake (Sebastian was signed up without his knowledge as a prank by a friend), but has turned into a lifeline for both of them, a place where they can truly be themselves, let down their guard, and share their innermost thoughts without fear. Unfortunately, IRL, they quickly realize that they are in opposition to each other on a business matter, so they both assume that their instant attraction was a fluke. However, as they continue to interact, neither can deny or crush that underlying draw.
I raced through this book. It was the perfect palate and mood cleanser. The growing connection between Gracie and Sebastian was a joy to read. I wish we'd had more of the short messages between them that started each chapter and that were the only glimpses into Sebastian's thoughts, but that's my only complaint. Once again, Lauren Layne does not disappoint.

Lauren Layne nailed this You've Got Mail remix! To Sir With Love is everything you loved about the original, with Gracie as the sassy shop owner and Sebastian serving as the cold businessman. Unfortunately, his plans could destroy Gracie's family business. But, while Gracie and Sebastian are locking horns over their business dealings, their anonymous online alter-egos ("Lady" and "Sir") are falling for each other.
The clever addition of a Love Is Blind type dating app component updates the story for today's times. The witty and sometimes confessional emails between their online personas are my favorite part of this story. Falling in love through "letters" on an app is a charming reminder of old-fashioned courtship.
I loved the secondary characters, particularly Gracie's two siblings, May, and friend Keva. They give her the nudge that she needs to do some self-discovery and focus on what will make her happy. The inclusion of Gracie's growth arc fits perfectly with the story and is an excellent way for Lauren Layne to put her spin on this classic.
To Sir With Love is a fun and light romantic comedy with laughs, emotion, and feels. This feel-good story checks all my boxes for the perfect beach read!
I received an early copy of this book. This voluntary review reflects my honest, unbiased opinion.

A slow burn done right! One that will keep you reading until you reach the end because it’s that entertaining. I feel like slow burns are a hit and miss for me. Sometimes, (especially when I’m not in the mood lol) it just bores me out. BUT THANK GOODNESS THIS ONE DIDN’T!
What I love about this book the most is the You’ve Got Mail vibe (as mentioned in the synopsis). So if you love that movie add this book to your tbr okay!!. AND I really love when a book have lots of emails/texts/letters!! So A +++ for me. I enjoyed the back and forth communication between my dear lady and sir 😜
The chemistry and the ending to this book had me blushing! 😍😍TO FIND OUT GO READ THIS SUPER CUTE BOOK WHEN IT COMES OUT ON JUNE 29!
Just add a little spice and it would have been a perfect 5 stars read for me. Actually not bad for my first book by this author. Very light and perfect read this summer. Gotta check her other books now!! Asap! 😂

To Sir, with Love by Lauren Layne proved once again I am a hopeless romantic, just like Gracie in this story. I believe in fate and the theory of Soulmate and every impossible notion that comes with love and I am also obsessed with this kind of dreamy love story. Lauren Layne made my heart sing, dance and swoon and I don't want to come back to real world.
Gracie Coope may have set aside her dream of becoming an artist to run her family wine shop. But she hasn't definitely stopped dreaming about finding a man who is THE ONE. So who will be this man? The anonymous "Sir" she has become friend with in the dating app? Or Sebastian Andrews, the rich enigmatic businessman trying fo buy her shop and someone she just cannot stand yet finds oddly attractive?
Meet Cute. Dating app accidents and coincidents. The sweet tangy tension between two enemies who find the company really enjoyable. This story is really romance at very best. Gracie is very close to my heart because I find so much of myself in her. Dreamer. Die hard romantic. Stubborn. Emotional. And torn between two men. While I found the mystery man very appealing, Sebastian was present in flesh and blood and well he is just amazing. Charismatic. Kind. Confident. Witty. He is not some ruthless evil businessman. He is a real man with real heart. And Gracie just needed some time to see this. Her colourful support system of friends and family was there for her...BUT she had to make a decision and I don't envy her. And I can tell you, love works mysteriously and everything will work out in magical way. The chemistry was brilliant. The author made me feel that tingling warmth just by few words and made my heart race in anticipation because I could guess where this is going and I just couldn't put ot down till that beautiful final moment came.
To Sir, with Love by Lauren Layne was such cleverly written and heartwarming romance. I smiled, I swooned, I shared the dream and the heartbreak. And my heart is full of emotions right now.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily provided by Netgalley and Valentine PR

What an adorable story!
Thoroughly enjoyed it. There's just something about love stories that are set in NYC. The park, the sounds, the buildings...the people.
I loved the interactions between Gracie & Sebastian as well as Lady & Sir. Knowing they were the same people made it even better. Really enjoyed the relationships in Gracie's family and her work relationships as well.
The ending? *love*

This was a cute women's fiction novel from Lauren Layne - totally closed door, unlike her straight up romance titles. There are kind of two love stories happening here - one is completely online (very much inspired by You've got Mail) through a dating app based on the idea that you get to know people before you see what they look like. The main character, Gracie, is corresponding with someone on that app (they call each other Sir and Lady - no names) and feels like she's falling for him. Meanwhile, she has a meet cute with a guy who turns out to be Sebastian Andrews, who runs the real estate company that owns the building in which she runs her late father's champagne store, Bubbles, and who wants to buy out her lease. She took over Bubbles because it was her father's clear dying wish, even though Gracie wanted to go to art school and pursue her love of painting as a career. Lots of snappy banter between these two, while lots of sweet talking happens via the app. This is compared to You've Got Mail in several of the reviews I've read so... yeah. If you've seen that, you know where this is going!

This was SUCH a good book. I absolutely loved Gracie as a character, and obviously her’s and Sebastian’s dynamic was fantastic. I would love to see this be made into a movie. Five stars, for sure!

This was my first book from this author and I enjoyed it so much that I think I need to pick up her Central Park series and give it a try as well!
If you are looking for a quick read that is super cute with a great cast, look no further. The characters in this book were such a pleasure to read about, and not just the MCs, but the supporting cast as well. I devoured this book in a day and absolutely enjoyed the modern take on You've Got Mail.

Thank you @gallerybooks for the gifted copy of To Sir, With Love {partner} 🥂

“I could be wrong. But I’ve got to wonder if relationships, especially the complicated ones, the ones worth getting right… I wonder if they’re not like fine wine. Maybe you’re just supposed to drink the damn thing.”
You’ve Got Mail has to be one of my favorite 90’s rom-coms and reading To Sir, With Love gave me all of the feels of that movie but instead of exchanging messages through email, it was messages through a dating app.
I went into this book with an open mind but I was left feeling a little… disappointed? Or unsurprised? I also think there were some unnecessary aspects add to the story (relating to infertility) that were just meant to add "fluff" to the book. Please don’t get me wrong, it’s a cute story and I was entertained but I needed a little more.
🗽NYC setting
🍾 The perfect book for the champagne lover
😍 Rom-Com
🥳 Predictable & fun storyline
💗 The main character is 33
I recommend you read To Sir, With Love if you’re a fan of Love is Blind & You’ve Got Mail.

if I could use one word to describe this book, it would be ‘cute’. From the meet cute to the final kiss, this book was just 🥰
My favorite movie of all time is You’ve Got Mail, so I felt a little sentimental reading this retelling. and while I still like the original better (Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks together are perfection), this was still an easy breezy romance to get lost in for a few hours.
I think I would have liked a bit more steam, and I would love to have had a dual POV on this one. I think some of the romance was lost since we didn't get Sebastian's perspective.
AT A GLANCE…

I was beyond excited to review this one!
TO SIR, WITH LOVE was absolutely delightful! If you love You’ve Got Mail, you will enjoy this modern twist.
Can we petition for this to become a movie?!
I could see the whole story unfolding in my head! And while it was obvious who “Sir” was, the grand reveal was still just as satisfying!.
I giggled, I swooned, I got excited! It’s been a while since a Rom-Com made me have alllll the feels.
Ohh Sebastian Andrews… 😍
This was the perfect summer read and will having you want to go out and buy some champagne and kick back with this book in your hand!

This book is a sweet and magical, modern twist on the classic You’ve Got Mail. If you’re looking for a rom-com to get lost in for a few hours…look no further. I was hooked from the first correspondence between Sir and Lady (aka Gracie), a fairytale loving artist who is trying to keep her late parent’s champagne shop afloat.
As the reader, I really enjoyed the experience of being in on the secret of who Sir is and watching the love story unfold!
The NYC setting is ideal, the side characters are all charming, and the love story is the perfect slow burn!
This book releases on June 29th!

What a fun retelling of You've Got Mail and The Shop Around the Corner!! The story was updated to add some more modern features. So the hero and heroine interact using an anonymous dating app instead of letters and email and our heroine, Gracie runs her families speciality champagne shop in mid-town Manhattan. Sebastian runs his families company which needs Gracie to move her sop so he can build on the land.
Because of the anonymity of the situation, they have several meet cutes and each one is amazing. Their chemistry and the energy flowing between them is awesome. The story is told from Gracie's perspective so we never have insights to Sebastian's inner monologue but we do get to see her anxiety about every little thing and we do get to see things she doesn't which, as a reader I find super fun.
This entire story gave me joy. It was written beautifully, funny, quirky, and overall a good time.

I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
Honestly, I was sold on this book from the moment I read the description. And I'm happy that it turned out to be as good as it was.
To Sir, With Love had the potential to be trite and clichéd, since it's a rehashing of a rehashdd storh at this point. But I found the story delightfully charming. Sometimes it just works. But apart from that, the characters were also fantastic to read about.
If you enjoyed Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks emailing back and forth. Then you woll love this books.

I started listening to this book, switched to digital and inhaled it, and then finished listening to it. So I’ve basically read it twice over the course of 3 days. I loved it! I now want to read all of Lauren Layne’s other books!
The narrators did a great job and I appreciated the emotions in their tones. It absolutely added to the story.
This is a wonderful romance. Grace Cooper has fallen for someone on a dating app. But there’s a catch- it’s an app without pictures so she only knows him through his words.
And then she meets Sebastian Andrews in real life. His family’s corporation wants to buy out Grace’s business’ lease. When they first meet there’s a huge spark- until they figure out who they each are and that they are on opposing sides.
I found this to be the sweetest of love stories! The side characters, mostly friends and family, are wonderful as is the slow burn enemies to lovers romance with a side of secret identity romance! All the stars!
Thanks to Simon and Schuster for an advance audio copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advance digital copy of the book.

This book just made me smile for hours on end. It's such a fun twist on one of my all-time favorite movies, You've Got Mail. Gracie Cooper has been trying to keep her father's champagne store afloat ever since his death. While her original life plan did not include owning and running a small family-owned business in the city, she loves the legacy the store has as well as it's ties to her father. While her dreams of being an artist have been pushed aside Gracie has not given up on the possibility of meeting her one true love. She believes that a chance meeting on the street with a gorgeous stranger may be just that until she learns he has a girlfriend and is the owner of the business that has been trying to put and end to her champagne store.
Layne really captured the fun, light-hearted feel of the Nora Ephron film. Gracie and Sebastian have that chemistry and banter that brings laughter and angst. This book is a definite slow burn but worth it for the HEA in the end. I loved the additional side characters written into the story and the little twists and turns that make this book unique. I'm always a fan of an epistolary romance and this delivers for sure. It's an enjoyable fast read perfect for anyone wanting a book to put them in a good mood.

This one was so cute. It felt a lot like Tweet Cute even though it's such a difference premise. It was super fun and I like that I read it in the summer. It also would be a cute spring book too is you're a seasonal reader!

Five bubbly stars for this new twist on the "You've Got Mail" plot. Gracie Cooper and Sebastian Andrews have connected via a sight unseen dating app. Their texts to each other using the app have bonded them in more ways than they realize. Meanwhile Gracie's family is struggling to keep their brick-and-mortar champagne shop afloat while Sebastian's family firm owns the space and is trying to buy them out. The banter between the two, in text and in person, is top notch. Both characters are endearing just as Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks are in the movie. There is lots of champagne, good food, beautiful art, and a cat named Cannoli. If you love the movie, you will love this book. Also try "Very Sincerely Yours" by Kerry Winfrey, a well-executed mashup of "You've Got Mail" and "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood."
