I enjoyed this post-apocalyptic survival book. Although I haven't read the first book, all that was important to the story was reminded in this second part. Book is amazingly easy to read and follow. I cannot say if I took a liking to the characters though. Yes, I pitied a bit Emma cause she was really trying hard that the family members notice her, but they always had something more important or their own problems to deal with.
Overall not much happened the whole book. Family is trying to survive and we learn all they have to do around the ranch in order to do that. Their old nemesis from the book 1 is back, so we learned how Tuck died and that Emma was shot (which already happened). Eustace is not likable at all, ugly guy with ugly personality, desperate for revenge because of his crippled arm.
I enjoyed the book, but for me it was also enough to learn that I am not that curious to know what will happen afterwards.
It's not an amazing book, but good enough as a hobby book if you don't want to read something "heavy" for your mind.
Book #2 in the Return of the Wild West series finds the Healy family together on their family ranch and under attack from those who would take what their family has built. The family is split on their immediate goals with each member determined to act on their own. They must pull together and make some hard decisions if the rest of the family is to survive. Grace Hamilton gets better with every series.
Pass on this one not a redeeming factor in the entire book. Horrible characters and slow moving.a few tweaks and it could have better
I have read an embarrassing amount of post apocalyptic fiction and this book, Survive the Attack, is one of the better ones.
Although I have not read the first book, enough detail was given about past events that I was able to keep up with what was going on.
I am interested to find out what happens to the family in book three, and hopefully see some people get their just desserts.
I struggled a bit in the beginning as hadnt read the first book but it soon came together. I am just so loving my pandemic books right now as they do make life not so bad (does that make sense)
Grace is another great author that I have discovered and reading the other reviews I must read more of her books.
The plot is better explained by the publishers than by me. But this is a good read if you into this genre - which I now am.
I was given an advance copy by netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review which I have done.
