I want to start with saying that I love Debbie Macomber and have read near everything. But this one was honestly, completely and totally boring. There was not a single likable character. The children were petty, the parents were immature and cruel. I honestly could not wait for it to end. That makes me sad because like I said, I love her books but this was just straight up awful.
I spent a delightful afternoon reading It's Better This by Debbie Macomber. The characters were realistic and engaging, the plot excellent. Yes, I shed a few tears, laughed and was sad when the story ended. I came away from this story with a grin on my face and a warmth in my heart that comes from reading a really good romance book (5 stars).
I received this book for free. A favorable review was not required and all views expressed are my own. Thank you to Ballantine Books and Ms. Macomber for the opportunity to read and review this book
I LOVED this book. I am at a point in my life where I just need a nice read. A book that ends happily-ever-after and that is exactly what I got. I have been a huge Macomber fan since the very beginning and anxiously anticipate ever book she releases/
I loved this! There's something about Debbie Macomber stories that just suck you in to the world that she has created. She also makes you see the different points of views of the characters so you understand the full issue. As always, there is a happy ending and this one put a smile on my face. It's a quick, heartwarming read about finding love after marriage ends and forgiving everyone involved, including yourself. Highly recommended!

Oh how I love Debbie’s books. She writes like she’s writing my story. I know everyone that reads her books feel the same way. When I can laugh and cry along with a book. Then get butt kicking mad in the same book that’s a great book and thank you so very much Debbie!
It’s Better This Way, is a very good read. A recent divorce throws Julia Jones into a tizzy. She is middle aged, the mother of two and she never saw the divorce coming and tried to keep the divorce from happening. The story starts 6 years after the divorce and we see Julia, finally finding peace in life. She has a strong relationship with her daughters, her sister and her niece. She has just semi-retired, from a successful directing career and she has the perfect home. I loved Julia’s resilience and her strong relationships. Can Julia find love? Can she mend fences with her ex & can she help her daughters find peace with their Dad? Debbie Macomber, writes such uplifting stories. I love how she sets such a great background and builds on it. I love that her books are filled with such hope.. We need that now a days. This was a four star read for me. I am thankful to Netgalley & the author for my copy for an honest review. It was my pleasure to read and review. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Debbie Macomber always delivers an emotional romance. I liked reading about older characters finding new love later in life.
Six years after having her heart ripped out, Julia Jones has finally come to embrace her Dad's favorite quote: It's better this way. Having tried to no avail to save her marriage, Julia moves to a quaint condominium complex. Her daughters still will not speak with their father who cheated on their mother then married the mistress. However, a chance meeting with a new handsome fellow tenant, Julia and Heath, also a divorcee, bring first friendship then a love neither expected. Will they be able to bring their families, especially their grown children, together? And when an unexpected and surprising revelation not only rocks their world but their relationship, will they first be able to reconcile their love and then their families? Throw in an out of the blue ally, will Julia and Heath be able to live the dream or will it go up in a nightmare?
I loved the characters in this book. Julia is a strong now single woman who is learning to live again. Although her path has taken a turn, she is finally ready to embrace it. Heath brings just the right balance to the story. They both learn to let go and let God. It truly is Better This Way. I received a copy through Netgalley. A review was not required.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this title given to me through NetGalley. This book was just absolutely wonderful. It was just so easy to get lost in and I just couldn’t put it down. I just lost myself within this amazing story. I most definitely will read more by this author.
It's Better This Way by Debbie Macomber is a novel about family relationships. A family is broken by a husband's unfaithfulness. The daughters have a hard time keeping a connection with their father because of their new stepmother. This book explains how sometimes it is better this way to accept new changes. Thank you #NetGalley for allowing me to read this book prior to publication. I am a fan of Debbie Macomber books.
This was such an enjoyable read and I liked the fact that it was about a mature relationship. There are second chances and they can be happy ones. It was very well written and was a great beach read.
Many thanks to Random House Publishing and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
I read and enjoy a lot of thrillers and mysteries but I have to admit it's nice to have a change of pace once in awhile. Debbie Maccomber's books are always good for that change of pace - - no profanity, romantic details left to the imagination, and a happy ending.
In this book, we have an unusual situation that seemed improbable to me until I happened to think how many remarriages there are in the world - so maybe it does happen. At any rate, it presented an interesting and different scenario that made for easy reading. This is a book to take to the beach.
Debbie Macomber is a go to author for me. I love her stories so much. It’s Better This Way, her newest book, is no exception. I enjoyed this so much. There were some characters in the background and some storylines I didn’t love, but they were an important part to the rest of the story that I did enjoy. This story follows a mature couple who have found each other years after both having their hearts broken by their spouses. They soon find out something they has the potential to wreck them and their families. I enjoy Debbie Macomber’s writing so much. This is an enjoyable read you won’t want to miss.
It’s Better This Way is a story about families that are strained because of divorce .
Julia and her husband Edward end up divorcing after she finds out he is having an affair . Their daughters want nothing to do with his wife and he refuses to have a relationship with them without her around . Julia is content not dating until she meets Heath and they become fast friends .Things go downhill fast after they realize Heath’s grown children want nothing to do with Julia and her children want nothing to do with Heath . They have to try and find a way to balance their children and their new found love for each other.
Debbie Macomber delights as usual with her story about family and mending fences . Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for an ARc for my honest opinion.

Debbie Macomber is a must read. As you open the book you will know you will love the characters. As Julie Jones is learning to move on with her life after thirty years of marriage. She meets a neighbor at her condo and neither one wants to date but will there friendship lead to more ? Julie's Father had told her growing up when things didn't go as planned "It's Better That Way ". There is a twist to the story and lives are intertwined. Will Julie and Heath have a happy ever after? Read this book and find out how things are played out
This story engages you immediately. The main characters are likable and the anticipation to see if they get their happy ever after is strong
As always though I loved the story and the character growth for a lot of the characters along the way and I will be in line once again for the next book from this author.
Julia and Heath have both been through so much since their divorces. I love the way they both handle things with grace. They both want to heal their families and this sweet story shared that journey.
Such a great Debbie Macomber read.
I absolutely love Debbie Macomber and this book was no exception! Her writing feels like a warm hug and I can't get enough. They read to me like they are playing right across the screen and it was just so good!
What a wonderful story about love, families and second chances. I really enjoyed getting to know Julia and her family. After Julia’s divorce from her husband she was not looking for love until she met Heath and both of their lives turned upside down! This is a feel good story with a couple of twists thrown in. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.
