All aboard the train to Crazytown. Final stop at "These Biotches be cold, ruthless and cunning".

I was glued to the pages as secrets, lies, motivations and back stories were revealed. Nothing and no one is as it seems in this neighborhood - or at least with these three women and their extended relationships. Narcissism, backstabbing, and an incredible need to have more more more of everything and appear perfect runs rampants. It was deliciously wicked!!

Desperate Housewives on steroids. This was a great beach read and I loved it.

A thank you to Netgalley for sharing the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I admit that I was not nearly as blown away by this one as so many others appear to be. However, that said, it does make for one whip-fast guilty pleasure read - the kind of book that I couldn't figure out why I kept reading, but couldn't seem to stop. Felt kind of like watching an impending train wreck driven by demented robotic people, so...Maybe on second thought, I enjoyed it more than I realized. Also: great cover, great title and I confess that I'd watch a Netflix version.

If you're looking for a fast-paced summer read in the line of Big Little Lies, this might fit the bill.

When Brooke and her new (much older) husband move into a new neighborhood, she meets Erin and Georgia, two other women who wield power in their exclusive subdivision.

This follows the BLL format in that the prologue shows an accident and death, but you don't know who died,

I needed a bit more depth and character development for this one to work for me, but it would make a perfect beach read if that is what you are looking for!

⭐⭐⭐..3 stars
Aww so here in Orange County, California we have ‘The Real House Wives of Orange County’ and it appears the Bay area has ‘The Trophy Wives of San Francisco’!

We all know that money brings happiness ~ Right?

Awww let’s meet Georgia, Erin, and Brooke, three Wives of Presidio Terrace and they tell you all about happiness!

It seems Georgia St Claire may have caused the death of two husbands as she is now enjoying the insurance money and other benefits that come from a spouse’s death. She is named the “Black Widow’. Story starts with her upcoming marriage to handsome billionaire Robert.

Erin King has reached fame as a news anchor but she recently had a melt down and work said some nasty very unprofessional things and walked out! Now at home she fears her husband may now be interested in someone younger!

Brooke Davie is a mystery writer and is the new wife on Presidio Terrace! Also seems to be the youngest wife in the neighborhood! Erin is immediately jealous of her youth.

When I started reading this my thoughts were Hmm I now know what happens to some of those “mean high school girls” they become trophy wives!

Story has glam the rich and famous all show up for the pre wedding party on Robert’s yacht.
However after the party is over, our three trophy wives have a sleep over on the yacht. Robert is there but seemly passed out drunk in his quarters.
Brooke hears some noise around 2am but it is too dark to see anything, however, in the morning Robert is missing! Hmmm?

When I finished, I stared into space and asked ...What in the world did I just read?

Story did get interesting, then it got ridiculous; but most of the characters never got likeable.

Want to thank NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group – Ballantine for this early release granted to me for my honest professional opinion.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for July 20, 2021

This was such a good book! These characters were a lot of fun and easy to love even though I had a bit of a love and hate relationship with a few. This book was a good mix of suspense and fun. I loved it!

Wow, such drama. This was a quick, easy read although I kind of wish it had been a little bit longer. Maybe. I'm undecided, I've been trying to figure out how I feel about this book for a few days. Some parts didn't make sense to me, but I'm not going to spoil them. I was surprised by the end twist, but had a hard time believing it at the same time. Might have to reread. But if you're into catty rich people and all their drama, secrets and lies, definitely pick this one up. It was entertaining, although nobody was really likeable, but that's kind of the point. 3.5 rounded to 4. Thanks NetGalley and Ballentine for the ARC!

The Presidio Terrace gated neighborhood can't be found on Google Earth--security is tight in this wealthy, close-knit neighborhood. And don't even think of leaving your garage door open for more than 5 minutes at a time, or you will the talk of the neighborhood. This is life in this glamorous prestigious neighborhood.

The neighborhood is run by HOA president Erin, who is also a local newscaster on the local television station. Her best friend Georgia lives across the street--known as the mysterious black widow, whose husbands mysteriously died under questionable circumstances. Erin and Georgia are joined by Brooke, the newest member of the neighborhood, and fellow "trophy wife."

I loved the characters in this trophy town and the troubles they found themselves in (all while looking glamorous).
The book reminded me of desperate housewife-style story, which paired well with the murder mystery being unraveled in the neighborhood. Overall, a really fun read.

Thank you to Ballantine Books for providing me an advanced reader copy.

It's just a fun book. Definitely what some would call a "beach read," I selected this book precisely because it DID sound fun. The trophy wives are definitely not perfect, and they all have some sins, but they do also have a real friendship. There was a bit more of a mystery than I expected, but that kept the plot moving.

"Mystery writer Brooke Davies is the new wife on the block. Her tech-billionaire husband, Jack, twenty-two years her senior, whisked her to the Bay Area via private jet and purchased a modest mansion on the same day. He demands perfection, and before now, Brooke has had no problem playing the role of a doting housewife. But as she befriends other wives on the street and spends considerable time away from Jack, he worries if he doesn't control Brooke's every move, she will reveal the truth behind their "perfect" marriage.

Erin King, famed news anchor and chair of the community board, is no stranger to maintaining an image--though being married to a plastic surgeon helps. But the skyrocketing success of her career has worn her love life thin, and her professional ambitions have pushed Mason away. Quitting her job is a Hail Mary attempt at keeping him interested, to steer him away from finding a young trophy wife. But is it enough, and is Mason truly the man she thought he was?

Georgia St. Claire allegedly cashed in on the deaths of her first two husbands, earning her the nickname "Black Widow"--and the stares and whispers of her curious neighbors. Rumored to have murdered both men for their fortunes, she claims to have found true love in her third marriage, yet her mysterious, captivating allure keeps everyone guessing. Then a tragic accident forces the residents of Presidio Terrace to ask: Has Georgia struck again? And what is she really capable of doing to protect her secrets?"

I liked this book! 3.5 stars rounded up. The writing was very creative and that’s what truly kept me reading because I did not like any of the main characters. It’s really hard to review this book without giving anything away. It’s rich people doing crazy things and what you think is happening is either correct or way off. Some things were left unexplained and I wish everything would have been answered. I still recommend giving this book a chance!

'The Secret Lives of Trophy Wives' was a fun read. My 3 star rating isn't supposed to reflect that it was bad in any way, just that it was something that I enjoyed but probably won't be thinking about a month later. Rich, white women with potentially horrible husbands+ murder/kidnapping mystery is something that I can happily count as a guilty pleasure read. I enjoyed it for what it was and recommend this book for others who are looking for a similar escapism read.

After learning the 'twist' towards the end of the book, I went back to re-read some passages to see how I missed what happened. Obviously, I won't give away any details- but the twist still kind of baffles me and I don't know if I like it or not. I actually finished this book a few days ago to see whether my opinion would change, but the best way I can describe it in a general and unhelpful manner is this: it was weird.

I enjoyed the fast-paced feeling of this book. I have never been the kind of person that loves reading/watching TV shows about rich housewives, but I felt that the characterization of these women were fun and interesting and fit with the story. I wouldn't want to be any of their friends, but really, that's never what these types of stories are about!

I'm not a fan of "The Housewives of ..." so the title of this book didn't exactly call to me. I did, however, follow the advice of the publisher who thought I'd like it and accepted an advance copy of the book. The publisher was right; I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I liked the the suspense, the unreliable narrators and yes, even the catty interactions between the three main characters.

We follow Brooke, a young trophy wife who has just moved into the exclusive gated community; Erin, a news anchor fast approaching her sell-by date; and Georgia, known as the Black Widow for the untimely demise of her previous two husbands. Erin and Georgia quickly form a bond with Brooke and the three are caught up in their own webs of deceit. All have secrets and neither Brooke nor Erin actually have the perfect marriages that they outwardly portray. Georgia, whose pending marriage to her yacht obsessed fiance appears to have the best chance at happiness. Told from each of their POVs, the secrets and lies are slowly revealed in a fast-paced story that is both engrossing and a bit titillating.

Don't let the title fool you. This is a good suspense novel filled with twists. Its characters are well drawn and their backstories unfold at just the right pace to keep one surprised and engaged in the story. There is only one place in the plot where I found myself scratching my head and thinking that particular event was unlikely. Overall, it was a fun, fast read.

This book was pure sugar and fluff. The cotton candy of books that pulls you in with it's pretty cover and sweet sinful storyline only to leave your teeth hurting and your fingers sticky and annoyed.

What starts out as a fun Real Housewives type of drama about rich housewives turns into a bizarre mystery that was a little bit too unrealistic and over-the-top for me.

If you want to read about unlikeable rich people who all suck then this is the book for you.

What a fun read! The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives takes us to Presidio Terrace in the Bay area where Brooke is just moving in with her husband. There, she meets news anchor Erin and her friend Georgia, known for being a black widow. With Georgia scheduled to get married in a week, there's bound to be excitement in the neighborhood!

I really enjoyed thus twisty, housewives-esque story! It has people with too much money, yachts, suspicious deaths, mysterious disappearances, and infidelity. What more could you want in a summer read???

This book was so. much. fun. It reminded me a lot of watching Desperate Housewives, you know, the early seasons when it was still good. Yes, a lot of it is over-the-top, but that's exactly what I liked about it. It's a super fast read, and one to keep in your beach bag.
If I had one thing to criticize, I would say that I wanted to learn more about Brooke's past. The author hinted at some details but didn't fully explain them. I think a more complete explanation would have added a lot to the story.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House/Ballantine Books for the ARC!

This was a fun, fast read and just what I needed after getting into a bit of a reading slump. The story starts off really well, setting the scene in a gated community, and introducing all the characters, who are not all as they seem. I liked the different POVs as well, but did wish we got a bit more back story / character development. It does eventually veer off into slightly unbelievable territory (the twist!) but I was still hooked till the end. Note there are some dark themes as well around domestic abuse.
Thanks NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.

This book is Real Housewives meets Snapped, meets Dateline, meets The Jerry Springer Show. I say this because the twists at the end are THAT GOOD!!!! It is riddled with drama, but I just couldn’t get enough! This book is told from multiple POV about three neighboring housewives bonded together in ways they had never dreamed, because behind closed doors, nothing is as it seems...

Most loved parts:
-Three women with less than ideal marriages/relationships and reasons to rid of their significant others
-Mason, simply because he irks me so badly that I just want to slap him! He is by far the most unlikeable character in my opinion
-A crazy neighbor who cuts her grass with scissors
-A hitman
-A cat fight on live TV
-Scandals for DAYS
-Secrets that bind...
-THAT ENDING 😳

The real MVPs:
Brooke: newest to the neighborhood, is a writer, and has a crazy controlling husband named Jack. Heaven forbid their altruistic marriage show it’s true colors to others.

Erin: best friend to Georgia, is the news anchor who up and walks out on her job one day. She is married to a plastic surgeon named Mason. She is sure he is cheating and let me just say he is a real piece of work....

Georgia: aka the “Black Widow” has been cashing in on deaths from two husbands. Rumors of murder surround her past, especially as she prepares for husband number three, Robert...that is until he goes missing before the wedding...
