Brooke Davies finds herself the newest housewife on the block of mansions at Presidio Terrace. She has just moved in with her husband Jack, a tech mogul who requires perfection from his business and his wife. That’s never been a problem, until now... when Brooke becomes friends with Erin, a tv anchor whose marriage might be falling apart, leading her to quit her job in a last ditch effort to fix things with Mason, her plastic surgeon husband who spends way too much time at the office and Georgia, the famed “ black widow” who has lost two husbands, one to an accident with a set of stairs and the other to suicide. People suspect she has killed them both but there is no proof to tie her to their deaths. Now, she is planning to marry the love of her life, until he disappears days before their wedding, and Georgia is getting random notes and threats. What will Brooke do in the midst of all of this chaos with her new friends? Well, she might use it for fodder for one of her novels, to start. What is actually going on with these women? You’ll have to pick this book up to find out. It’s an enjoyable read that will keep you guessing until the last few pages and then you may scramble through your memory as you try and figure it if you could have worked it out yourself... you probably couldn’t. I certainly didn’t!
I have not read this yet and update my review once I read it. I clicked on the wrong link and hit submit before I realized I had selected the wrong book.
I’m not going to lie…it was totally the title that made me want to read this book. And I am so glad I did.
This. Was. Fun.
Somehow, the author manages to give us a trashy fun read without making it garbage. It’s not some weirdly sad/erotic sex romp (sorry). Instead, it’s clever, fun and twisty in all the right ways.
Our trophy wives are delightful – and far more deviously clever than you would ever expect.
Loved this read. Super fast and entertaining, yet very, very smart!

Thank you NetGalley and Ballantine Publishing for the advanced egalley of The Sinful Wives or Trophy Wives. This is the first book I have read by Kristin Miller, and I was not let down. The Sinful Wives created a nostalgia for Wisteria Lane with its drama, perfectly manicured lawns, and well-behaved housewives.
The Sinful Wives are three housewives living in Presidio Terrace who have some deeply hidden ghosts in their closets. There is Georgia whose first two husbands died mysteriously. Erin the journalist who seeminlgy has the perfect marriage. Lastly, there is Brooke. Brooke is the newcomer to the group who gets tangled up with Georgia and Erin, much against her husband Jack's wishes. This novel will take you on a gigantic thrill ride.
Miller does a great job of creating likeable yet extremely unlikeable characters. The story, at times, is extremely predictable but it is a witty, funny story.
If you thought becoming a trophy wife was boring and monotonous, you haven’t met the ladies of Presidio Terrace. This subdivision is full of drama from the alleged Black Widow husband killer to the neighbor who cuts her grass with scissors. I read this book in the span of a day and would definitely recommend it. There are many plot twists that keep you guessing up until the grand finale.
This book reminds me of soap opera drama. Written with three different point of views -Georgia, Erin, and Brooke. Each had different backgrounds and were different ages.. Each handled the circumstances of their lives in different ways, yet with courage. I found that there was something about each character that I liked and in one way or another could relate to.
The title alone of this book drew my attention and honestly I was hoping it wasn’t going to be a book filled with bed hopping, etc. (It isn’t). Some twists here and there but the last few chapters make the connections. The last twist in the book draws everything full circle and that is where I found true appreciation for the author.
Thanks NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine for the advance reading copy of this book. #netgalley; #goodreads #thesinfullivesoftrophywives
What a great book! This will be one of my top books in 2021; I know that already. So many twists and turns that I had no idea where the ending was going to end up. Such a great read. Thanks for the chance to read this. I am going to look for other books by her right now.
This was a good quick read. There were lots of twists that I did not see coming. I didn’t really like any of the women though.
Remember the night time soap dramas of the eighties? This book is deliciously reminiscent of those days! It was like a soap opera. Over the top drama, divas, and sharp biting humor! Georgia, Erin and the new wife on the block Brooke are the trophy wives and while they may seem to have it all, their lives are full of shopping and secrets! Campy and fun! I enjoyed this book! Well written.
Thanks to Net Galey and the publisher for providing me a copy.
What did I just read? Juicy and salacious...with notes of Star magazine, Desperate Housewives, and Jackie Collins, this read was non-stop fun. The twists were plentiful and satisying, and that ending was insane!
This book was absolutely amazing! Read it all in one day, the twists and turns kept me guessing and thoroughly entertained
I’m technically giving this 4.5 stars - this was such a fun and easy read! This was soap opera meets The Real Housewives meets murder mystery.
This book was drama and I was all for it 😂
Three different POVs - Georgia, Erin, and Brooke. I loved but also disliked the characters at the same time. Georgia being very melodramatic, Erin being the envious one, and Brooke the soft spoken “blend in with the crowd” gal.
The title alone of this book is what caught my attention and I must say I’m glad I went into this book blind. Some twists here and there but the last few chapters having it come full circle with one last twist is what really did it for me.
Thanks NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group- Ballantine for the eARC of this book.
I was provided a NetGalley ARC for review.
This book kept me on the edge trying to figure out the end game. I couldn't put it down. You'll have clear favorites among the main female (and male) characters early on. However, don't get too attached. As stories unfold, what you thought you knew may turn out wrong.
A fun read enjoyed following the rich over the top lives of these three rich women. There were so many twists and turns I couldn’t put it down.Perfect summer read.#netgalley#randomhouse
Brooke Davies and her husband move to Presidio Terrace where she quickly friends Erin King, a well-known local TV personality, and Georgia St. Claire, the "Black Widow" whose two previous husbands have met sudden, unexpected deaths. The three women form a fast friendship that is soon tested when Georgia's latest fiance goes missing after they spend a night on his boat. The friendship between the three women has many secrets that help explain their immediate closeness and their abilities to trust each other so easily.
This was a well-told story that had multiple twists and turns. There were a few moments that I felt the story could have moved a little faster. I wasn't overly in love with the characters but I was able to become interested in their lives enough to want to finish the story and discover how all the loose ends were tied up. I would love to read more by this author and see what else she has to offer.
So, I just recently finished this book. I enjoyed it as a fast-paced domestic/women's thriller. It tells the story of three women who live in the same gated neighborhood in California. Brooke, a young trophy wife, Erin, a news anchor wife of a plastic surgeon and Georgia, the rumored Black Widow who has had 2 previous husbands die under suspicious circumstances.
Things seem a certain way throughout most of the book then some inconsistencies in the story and writing come about halfway through. The end was a bit of a twist but it wasn't a strong enough twist for my liking!
Extremely enjoyable mystery thriller. While this book was definitely a fun read, it dealt with some serious issues like abuse and murder. The ladies of this neighborhood are extremely wealthy but each have their own secrets, from abusive husbands to cheating spouses, and one who has had two husbands die in just a few years. This neighborhood has it all and I was sucked into this story immediately. Fun yet serious read that I highly recommend.
"The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives" has a strong and intentional "real housewives" vibe, but also promises an intriguing mystery. Early in the book I was worried that the story was going to be not much more than a written version of "real housewives." Considering that I despite that genre of television, I feared the book would be a disappointment. However, once Robert, the fiancé of Georgia (the "Black Widow"), disappears and the story focuses on the mystery of his disappearance, as well as delving into the secrets of Georgia, Erin and her husband Mason, and Brooke and her husband Jack, the story improves considerably. Georgia and Erin are both appalling and appealing characters. The author does a good job of releasing information at just the right pace to keep the reader engaged and the plot flowing. Some of the "secrets" are pretty obvious (Georgia really did arrange the deaths of her first two husbands) and others will likely be guessed by readers (for example, to whom the hired hitman is connected or with whom Erin's husband Mason is cheating).
The best part of the book is the way the author handles the character of Brooke, including her relationship with her husband, Jack. The storyline suggests that Jack might be up to something inappropriate and that Brooke, in her interactions with Georgia and Erin, has stumbled upon a real life version of the murder mysteries she writes, but truth is stranger than fiction in this case. And the author leaves the reader guessing as to whether certain events that Brooke recounts actually happened.
I received a copy of the e-book via NetGalley in exchange for a review.
This book started off pretty well, but I felt that didn't know how she was going to end the story so she added a lot of twists that didn't make sense. I love reading books about the rich and I was hoping I would enjoy it because of that, but the ending and the choices the characters made were confusing and not well thought out in my opinion.
2/5
The publisher sent me this pre-approved book to read. Thank you for the ARC.
Setting is in beautiful California, evident by the reference to the golden gate bridge and the mecca of the tech world.
Characters were these trophy wives (Erin, Brooke and Georgia) Brooke is this newcomer in this posh neighborhood, who is the quissential throphy wife who has a tragic past and unconventional marriage. She may hide behind the superficial image of perfect nails, figure and style but there's more to her than meets the eye. While the two women, Georgia and Erin, Brooke's new neighbor has scumbags of a husband. With these newfound friendship begans the story of these throphy wives. It's Beverly Hills meets the real housewives of Presidio Terrace. A chick flick book with a dose of mystery. Oh! What drama.
