Two words sum up my opinion of this book, “Delicious Fun!”. The story is filled with pretty women with money, mystery, revenge, murder, and some repulsive sounding cocktails at the end. If you are in need of a fast amusing read to escape into, I think that The Sinful Lives Of Trophy Wives deserves five entertaining stars.

The trophy wives of Presidio Terrace are outrageous!
Georgia St. Claire is a Black Widow with two dead husbands behind her and a new victim...errr...I mean fiancé. Erin Kelly is a successful career woman who is obsessed with her appearance and wants to be forever young...maybe that's why she married a plastic surgeon? Brooke Davies is the new gal on the block and the quintessential trophy wife (and, honestly, dull as dirt until the end).

This is a crazy, over-the-top story that's very reminiscent of a daytime soap opera. Is it realistic? No. Does it make any sense at all? No. Does it have likeable characters? No. But this is a really fun read if you don't take it too seriously.

If you're a soap opera or Desperate Housewives fan, give this book a read.

Twisty-turns tale of three ultra-rich women and the secrets they keep from each other. More importantly, there is the secret they share. A thriller that will keep you reading all the way to the surprising end,

Before you arrive to last 2 chapters, the story is pretty standard trophy wives story. One of them wants to be as hot as the new and younger wife joined their neighborhood. One of them goes from husband to husband leaving a bloody trail behind her. One of them wants to write her murder mysteries living with her tech mogul husband that she loves. Last one is probably the only one who is not a pure trophy wife. But eventually, all they do dress up and brunch.

When the last 2 chapters hit, you started to question what had happened. I wouldn't have enjoyed this book if it wasn't for the twist. Do not get me wrong, it is good quick read however too predictable and I cannot relate to the characters. Twist at the end made it worth the wait.

If you are into quick reads that you can finish in one sitting and page-turners, you will like this book

Man, I am really on a streak of duds with my NetGalley reads lately. The reviews on this one really make me wonder if it's just me...

I picked this up because it sounded like a campy version of Desperate Housewives. Unfortunately, the characters aren't nearly as fleshed out (I kept mixing up the three main female characters and their husbands). The mystery did keep me hooked, but the ending came completely out of left field (in a way where it didn't make sense, not where it was shocking and twisty in a satisfying way). This had a lot of potential, but it really needed stronger characterization and a more logical ending for me.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

5 Nail-Biting Stars for The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives by Kristin Miller. The perfect ratio of suspense, mystery, friendship, and curiosity made this one a lightning read for me.

Kristin Miller captured my interest by inviting me into the secret lives of extremely wealthy women in a secure, tightly knit neighborhood. Once the effects of the chardonnay and botox begin to fade, so does the illusion of perfection.

Georgia St. Claire has lost two husbands in a short amount of time. Gossip precedes her wherever she goes. Now that she's engaged again to another very wealthy man, only time will tell if their deaths were related or the accidents that Georgia claims they were.

I immediately loved Brooke, the new wife on the block. And, of course there's Erin, Georgia's best friend. Erin is the one who knows all of Georgia's secrets. Together, the three of them will have you hiding away to read, trying to piece together the perfect and relentless twists that Kristin Miller weaves in so perfectly.

Thank you to @netgalley and @randomhouse @penguinrandomhouse for the ARC. I can't wait to see how fast this one rises to the top when it's released in July.

Thank you Netgalley, Ballentine Book, and Random House for this ARC of Kristin Miller's new novel The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives.

From the very first page, I was sucked into the story. The story follows three rich wives, Georgia, Erin, and Brooke. Georgia has been married twice with both of her previous husbands dying when they were married for a year or less. She is now engaged to a third man. She maintains her innocence even though the media refers to her as the Black Widow. Erin expects her husband and cheating on her. Brooke, the youngest and newest wife to the neighborhood is a mystery writer while her husband. When Georgia's new fiance goes missing three days before the wedding, the media thinks Georgia killed him off already. The three women work together to try to solve the mystery of his disappearance while dealing with each of their own personal lives and hidden secrets.

If you enjoy watching reality tv like The Real Housewives for all the drama, then this book is for you!

Thank you Netgalley, Ballantine Books, and Kristin Miller for the arc of The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives”. What a great beach read, perfect for Summer! I don’t know why I was so interested in these womens’ lives. The book goes to show no one has a perfect life, no matter how it might look from the outside. And secrets, people have secrets! This was a fast, good read. Not my usual fare, but I enjoyed it.

Be sure to strap yourself in because this is going to be a bumpy ride!

This book introduces us to three trophy wives in the posh and highly desirable neighborhood in California called Presidio Terrace. Georgia (aka The Black Widow) and Erica, who are BFFs have lived in the neighborhood for several years. In fact, Georgia has been through two husbands and is engaged to the third all while living in the same house. She is known as the Black Widow because both her previous husbands’ are- shall we say, dancing upstairs? This chick knows how to work a room. It was interesting how the author didn’t try to hide her guilt or innocence too long. You will know pretty early on in the story which one is the truth. But there are still so many unanswered questions and loose ends that you have to keep turning the pages as quickly as your brain can process the words!

Erica is a popular news anchor and as you are already imagining, she is feeling her age a little more every day. She is married to a handsome plastic surgeon so, well that is handy. I kept thinking of her character as the brunette with 2 blonde beautiful and perfect friends (think Janet in Three’s Company.) The author never made her seem unattractive or anything, but her jealousy and insecurity made me feel that way about her. She is caught between wanting to be successful in her work and wanting to be the trophy wife that Georgia is.

Brooke is the new trophy wife in town with her divorced-because-he-was-cheating-on-his-wife-with-her TECH big wig husband. Of course she is younger, of course she is beautiful, of course she is fit…and of course her goal is to be perfect. It’s obvious by some of the things she says that she is hiding secrets of her own. She is an author with writer’s block. Lucky for her, she is instantly befriended by Georgia and Erica and a juicy plot with larger-than-life characters just got dropped in her lap.

You don’t need to know another speck of the story beforehand. You will suspect every character of something. This book will pull you in, turn you around, make your mouth drop open, make you feel disgusted, make you laugh out loud and make you hold your breath. It is the perfect read to take your mind off the stress of everyday life. I didn’t feel the need to spend the whole time trying to catch every clue and I wasn’t worried about the slightly unbelievable plot lines. I just became a fly on the wall and watched every move with bated breath. This is a psychological thriller that will have you begging for more.

I devoured this book in 2 days. I loved it! 4 and 1/2 stars!!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House – Ballantine for giving me the opportunity to read and review an advance copy. Pub date is July, 2021.

Welcome to the world of the Presidio Terrace divas! We have the "black widow" wife who is planning to marry again. The TV news anchor who is also the neighborhood watchdog. And the newest member of the mimosa cocktail group, the mystery book writer. Each unique in her own way, but still all share the love of shopping, gossip, vanity and "sinful" ways.

This was fun book to read! A great thriller with surprises, suspense and twists.

The author did a fabulous job of keeping you entertained while she wove a mystery that climaxed with an ending that is unexpected.
Dive in and see if you can find out what the trophy wives discuss over their bagels and coffee - it might surprise you!

Thank you Random House and Netgalley for an opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.

“The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives” is an entertaining psychological suspense novel centering around the lives of three women living in an exclusive enclave of mansions in San Francisco. The book opens with Georgia lying semi-conscious in a hospital bed after a horrific car accident. According to the gossiping nurses at her bedside, Georgia discovers that the man in the car with her died and another woman was struck by the car and killed instantly.

The book then starts at the point where these series of events were set in motion. The three “trophy wives” are Georgia, the “Black Widow,” whose two husbands died under mysterious circumstances and is engaged to be married to her third husband; Brooke, the wife of a tech billionaire who just moved into the neighborhood; and Erin, a news anchor married to a successful and handsome plastic surgeon. Each woman has her flaws and insecurities but covers them up by projecting an image of happiness and success. Brooke soon becomes friends with Erin and Georgia. An incident on Georgia’s fiancee’s yacht embroils Brooke deeper into their lives as the police investigating the incident soon become a fixture in the community. The suspense builds to an ending with a delightful twist. This book is recommended for those who enjoy a psychological suspense novel that focuses on the privileged lives of complex characters.

I received an advanced copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. <br />Wow, this was a fun read. You get to know budding author Brooke who is newly arrived in the exclusive neighborhood where code enforcement is taken seriously. Brooke is married to much older Jack and everyone is curious about her relationship. Also we get to know Erin and Georgia who are friends. Erin is a bit snotty and full of herself and Georgia is know for having several husbands. Dead husbands. If you are looking for Housewives of Beverly Hills crossed with Desperate Housewives this book is for you.

This was a quick, easy read but I knew from the opening paragraphs that this author’s writing style wouldn’t be my cup of tea.
I love a good mystery and enjoy domestic thrillers, but this one fell flat for me. The characters all felt very one-dimensional and the plot twists failed to keep my interest. There was potential and I did want to see how it ended, but unfortunately this just wasn’t a match for my personal taste.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Fans of The Real Housewives will love this one. The story centers around Brooke, Erin and Georgia- three extravagantly wealthy wives that live in lavish homes in the most exclusive neighborhood in San Francisco.

One of them has already been accused of murder... Twice 👀

Someone from the neighborhood goes missing ....... Is it kidnapping? Murder? ✨

This is one of those binge worthy, guilty pleasure books. I could not read it fast enough. It’s a bunch of crazy rich people and their drama.

You can tell the author spent a lot of time on character development, the nuances of their personalities. She’s skillful at creating vivid charcters- they are despicable, but vivid 😂

I also loved the pacing and dialogue. It is thoroughly enjoyable!

Kristin Miller's The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives had several surprises packed into it. As a new resident of an affluent neighborhood in California Brooke Davies, an author meets her new neighbors; Erin King, a local news anchor and Georgia St. Clair, know as the Black Widow due to the pre-mature deaths of her two husbands. These three soon become friends and are looking forward to the wedding of Georgia St. Clair. Something sinister is at play and with the wedding day quickly approaching the questions start mounting. I was very shocked and surprised by this book. It had several of those "well I didn't see that coming" moments Would definitely recommend.

This book is not worth reading or reviewing. Offered to me, I do not know why, but now I see the reason. No one will want to buy it! It is drivel.. sorry I cannot be kinder. I had to give it one star to send the review but it is not worth even one.

Divas. Murder. Treachery. High drama. San Francisco. Good fun. Of course I had to read it. Kristin Miller is a new author to me, but I very much enjoyed her campy almost cult-style intensity. Three women in complicated relationships, each hiding a secret from her husband... when they all wind up living in Presidio Terrace together, tensions escalate and lead to another murder... since there were at least 2 that likely already happened before the book opened. Is it as obvious as it seems, or has a more sinister force settled among them?

Miller takes all the crazy plot points and tosses 'em together in this tale about performing one's role as a trophy wife. Erin is a news anchor married to a plastic surgeon. She's gorgeous but worries about losing her luster. Georgia has a habit of killing off rich husbands soon after they get married. Brooke's husband appears controlling and has a secret job, but she knows more than we think. When they all board a yacht for an engagement party, one of their husbands doesn't make it out alive. Who was after him? And why?

Things are not what they appear in this book. The POV switches among the 3 women, and as we learn the truth about their pasts, we discover hidden connections and double meanings in all their words. Erin's husband, Mason, is wonderful on the outside but a true horror on the inside. His character builds with each chapter until we see how much we might have misunderstood. Erin is so over the top, I laughed each time she upped the ante. I'm sure some women/wives are like this, but readers have to go in understanding this is meant to bring some humor to the situation too. I feel for her in the beginning but as her story unfolds, she's quite the mischievous one.

The best part of the novel: these characters are so larger than life and unconscionable, they will stay with me for a long time. I loved the eccentricities and intensity they bring to their days, and it reads pretty easily. A few plot points were left open-ended, and some intentional vagueness is a bit abrupt... but for me, it always comes down to a good story, clever characters, and an intriguing setting. The book has all three, and I found myself swept away in the drama, half wondering whether this could actually happen.

Familiar villains and villainesses are turned upside down, and when the book's conclusion arrives, there is a very unexpected shocker. I believe I was so caught up in the silliness that I didn't think about something that had been said in the beginning... a great surprise twist. I will look for more by the author, and I recommend this for mystery readers who love when something is just crazy enough to not be realistic but find themselves curious enough to consider the options... and if you love 80's prime-time dramas, the movie Clue, and the Real Housewives phenomena, you'll be enthralled with this one!

The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives is an unputdownable thriller with a twist that no one will see coming! Often, books in the thriller genre are predictable, but I can guarantee that most readers will not be able to figure out the murderer in this book. The opening chapter starts out with a woman waking up in a hospital bed. Here are some quotes from the opening chapter:

"How long have I been here? It could be hours after my wedding reception, or a month later. There’s no way for me to know. It feels as if I’ve been sleeping my entire life. Consciousness slips away as blobs of inky darkness threaten to pull me under. My thoughts knock together clumsily like shapes in a kaleidoscope, changing and smearing until time and dream and reality are inconsequential."

"Murder? No—this can’t be happening. As a heavy dose of medication deluges my blood, I fall into a deep, coma-like sleep—one plagued with nightmares of shattered glass and blood-soaked skin and screams bubbling from the pit of hell."

After reading that opening chapter, I could not wait to continue reading to find what happened to cause the woman to wake up in the hospital bed. Fortunately, the book maintained my interest the whole time with constant gossip, extra-marital affairs, and catfights. The book revolves around three women: Brooke, a mystery writer, Erin, a news anchor, and Georgia, a "Black Widow" with two dead ex-husbands. The book is told from all 3 women's perspectives. As I read the book, I tried to figure which of the women was hiding secrets and who the murderer was. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I was completely wrong. The person I had suspected turned out to be innocent, and a person who I thought was innocent turned out to be guilty. Overall, I enjoyed reading The Sinful Lives of Trophy Wives, and I definitely did not predict the twist ending. I recommend it to all fans of the books in the thriller genre.
