I really loved the vibe of the first book in this duology and I was delighted to find that it continued throughout this book as well. I love the girl empowerment message while still stressing the importance of teamwork. The magical creatures are really fun and the magic abilities in the books feels uniquely different from many other fantasies I've read. I look forward to reading more from this author!
