I’ve had this sat on my kindle for a while now and after reading it I don’t know why I kept it there for so long as it’s great! I listened to parts of this on audio and then read the rest as I wanted to be immersed in the lives of Belle and Rory.
We can’t not mention Marsha either… she is just a little ball of fun, with a few extra spoonfuls of sass! She really helped to bring Christmas to life in this and the joy just radiated from the page whenever she was in a scene - kids really do just say it how it is don’t they!!!
Anyway, back to Belle and Rory… they are both really likeable characters and I think everyone but them can see how well they compliment each other, they are just made for each other and have each others back 100%. There were quite a few emotional moments in the book but you always felt like the characters were in safe hands with Kitty’s writing.
This book has left me with a smile on my face, ready to embrace Christmas and start with all the festive activities - I’m also determined to make some popcorn garlands for my tree this year!
Plus - who’d have known that Shakespeare only mentions Christmas 3 times in all his works! Crazy eh - but Belle is your woman for every bit of Shakespeare knowledge.
Such a fun read! Loved this one!
Many thanks to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for my ARC.
This is a nice read but I found the pace too slow, so it took me a while to get through it as I wasn't too excited to pick it up at times. I think I was potentially just not in the right mood for it at that time as I think it could be a nice cosy read at the right time, I will try pick it up again in December (being in the season might help).
3 Stars!
I just wanted something a bit more I think, but maybe my expectations were too high (and I also thought it was going to be like another book that it wasn't, so maybe a me thing!)
At parts I were slightly bored and it just needed something more. An okay read :)
I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.
Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.
However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x
A perfect Festive read, as much as I enjoy Christmas I thought it was really important Kitty highlighted how difficult the holidays can be for some, us Christmas lovers need to remember it’s not the same for others and this draws attention to that so well. Overall I completely loved this, it’s a fantastic slow-burn romance with a heart-warming story
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Enjoyed this lovely Christmas romance very much.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me an early look at this book in exchange for an honest review.
I totally loved this! It is well written and I enjoyed this page turning book. I felt myself connecting with the characters. i will definitely recommend it!
I enjoyed this Christmassy read! It was lovely to experience the city through the eyes of the characters and while I really liked the idea of the story, of following your dreams, putting your mind to something and letting go of the past, I felt were missing. I really wanted to know more of the backstory to understand why it was so hard to let go of the past.
Thank you HarperCollins UK and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.
This book is a pleasant and enjoyable read that will get you in the Christmas spirit. The unique chapter-a-day structure adds charm, although it results in some slower-paced parts. While the plot lacks depth, it's not a major drawback, as the book focuses more on character-driven storytelling. Overall, it's a good choice for a light and festive read during the holiday season.
Everyday Day in December is one of those whimsical British romcoms that you want to save for a rainy day.
This dual point of view story tells the tale of Belle and Rory: one a lover of festive holidays and the other a grinch. Each day, Belle is striving to make her Shakespeare site popular and Rory is trying to avoid what happened five years ago. Every day in December these two fated lovers draw closer.
I enjoyed the dual points of view and how they were spilt up chapter by chapter. I especially adored how each chapter started with Shakespeare quotes, which Belle adores. I recommend Every Day In December to those who enjoy Sophie Cousens and Sophie Kinsella.
Oh my wordy word where to start with this one! First off I am the biggest fan of Kitty Wilson's books, The Cornish Village School series is probably my best series OF ALL TIME and I recently told everyone I put it right up there with all of my childhood favourites and I stand by that!! This book, however totally caught me unawares, I didn't realise I could idolise the author any more than I do but here we are!
Here we meet Rory and Belle, two people with very different attitudes to the month of December. Rory is trying to escape it and Belle is the absolute opposite. The book is amazing in that it deals with each day in December and has the added beauty of Shakespeare, which features heavily. And yet this still manages to be a warm, sparkly Christmas read with some really fun moments. So there's both sides of the coin, tough issues but stunning sparkle too.
Thanks so much to the publisher for the book in return for an honest review. Beyond beyond recommended!
Every Day in December by Kitty Wilson is a festive and romantic novel that follows the charming love story of Belle and Rory as they navigate the challenges and joys of the holiday season. Belle, who loves everything about December, and Rory, who hates it, find themselves drawn to each other despite their differences. As they spend more time together and get to know each other better, they realize that their feelings for each other run deep.
One of the standout aspects of Every Day in December is the festive and warm atmosphere of the novel. I love the format that this is written - across the month of December. The holiday setting adds a cosy and magical touch to the story, and the romance between Belle and Rory is sweet and heartwarming. The novel also explores themes of family, forgiveness, and love in a thoughtful and nuanced way.
Overall, Every Day in December is a delightful and heartwarming read that is perfect for the holiday season. If you're a fan of romance novels and the festive season, you won't want to miss this charming and heartwarming story.
A fab Christmas read with a Shakespeare twist.
I loved how each chapter was a day in December.
Watching Belle & Rory get to know each other again was a joy!
I really wanted to love this book. It had so many things elements I look for in a festive read as well as some personal preferences for the structure! Dual POV - yes please! Timeline - your spoiling me! However I just couldn’t get along with it.
I think the problem was all the references to Shakespeare. I’m not a fan and most of the mentions went over my head. Unfortunately I lost all interest in the story and sadly this festive novel was a DNF at 20%
I’m partial. Christmas books are my favorite. I love the characters and how they grow throughout the book. They were both realistic. .
Lovely feel good book to read. It was a joy to read. Lovely characters. Great plot. The book was charming. Very well written. I’d definitely recommend this book
A wonderful seasonal read! Loved all the lessons that this story brought and so much character growth between Rory and Belle!
I love a good Christmas love story, I mean who doesn't?
This is had everything from a beautiful cover to the storyline that really sets you up for the Christmas season.
Definitely one of my favourites and should be on everyone's list.
Every Day in December is a lovely and very clever read. Every chapter represents one day of the month of December, which helps to really build and immerse the reader in the story.
