I read a review that described this as a slow burn mystery and I agree 100%. You are moving through and honestly I had no idea where it was going. So many twists and turns. And man when it all started to come together I was stunned.
Another wild ride for Nikki Hunt, I can’t wait for book 3.
One Perfect Grave (Nikki Hunt Book 2). I really enjoyed this as I did the first in the series, The Girls In the Snow. After an accident on an icy road the bodies of a mother and her son are discovered in the snow and ice. Special FBI agent Nikki Hunt is invited to help with the investigation and so begins a great tale. This works perfectly as a stand a lone read but the development in the unusual subplot is really excellent so you’ll definitely get more from it if you’ve read the first one. I did actually spot early on who the culprit was, though I then discounted them, but boy never did I see the reasons behind them doing what they did. I’m already looking forward to number 3
One Perfect Grave by Stacy Green
Special Agent Nikki Hunt has finally found the two people she was desperately looking for. A young boy and his mother were found except they were dead. Kellan Rhodes and his mother Dana were finally found except their deaths did not seem like an open and shut case as some believe. At first glance one would assume that Dana killed her son and then took her own life but Nikki believes that is not what happened. Dana had lost custody of her son and wanted to get him back and there were also the foot prints that belonged to someone else. Who could have done this terrible thing? Now there was another child missing. Missing after his mother lost custody of him. Zach was gone and to a local journalist, Caitlin Newport, it looked as though the two cases were connected. Nikki and Caitlin have a past. One where they worked together in hopes of finding who killed Nikki’s parents. That time almost cost Nikki her life and she did not want that to happen again. The one thing she had to ask herself was, could she trust Caitlin again? Or would she lead her down the same path as before. A path that took too many wrong turns.
This author has done a brilliant job at keeping this book suspenseful and keeping the reader on the edge of their seat. This is definitely one hell of a ride.... hold on.
Thank you to netgalley as well as the author for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
**3.5 Stars**
This was a good read and it was quick and easy. I enjoyed the characters and the team created but it was a quick giveaway on who the bad person was. If you read a lot of the psychological thrillers mystery books it’s not hard to pick up on but it was fun to read regardless.
A boy named Kellan and his mother Dana are found dead frozen in the snow. FBI agent Nikki Hunt is on the case and realizes that it isn’t a murder suicide as it was made to seem and dives in to see what really happened. Kellan was currently in the custody of his Aunt Maggie, Dana’s sister, because Dana was struggling with sobriety for a long time. She had been sober for a year when at the final hearing for the custody battle she failed the drug test. At the same time Kellan is missing, another boy named Zach went missing and crazy reporter Caitlin is convinced they’re intertwined. Here begins the hunt and evidence gather up to find the truth!
The book reads like a good Law & Order show and what you would get from a few episodes. It was entertaining but I did miss the fast pace of it all. If you’re looking for a heart racing can’t stop turning the page kind of book, this isn’t it. It’s steady pace and everything is wrapped up nicely in the end.
Thank you netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

One Perfect Grave is a tightly woven and gripping mystery. That had me glued to my Kindle and with plenty of twists and turns, and a shocking conclusion not to mention a great setting I would definitely recommend it to others. Even if you've not read the first book in the series, as I haven't but I definitely will now.
Special Agent Nikki Hunt is looking for a kidnapped boy when she gets the call she's dreading. As her missing persons case changes its focus it becomes clear the Rhodes family had been broken for decades with jealousy and vitriol tainting everything.
As clues are gathered and dissected the disappearance of another child is reported and Nikki finds her team stretched even thinner as they try to find links between the two cases. Then, with time of the essence Nikki and her team are left reeling as a new clue is handed to them which changes everything they thought they'd discovered so far.
This is a fast moving, surprising novel which gave no hint of the explosive ending until it all began to unravel at an alarming speed. The second book in the series there are spoilers included which suggest reading the books in order. The writing and storytelling are excellent however so this is in no way a problem!
I was able to read an advanced copy of this book thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the opinions expressed are my own. This is a great read and recommend highly.
Thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for a free Arc of this book.
Wow, this is the second Nikki Hunt book and it is absolutely Brilliant.
I thoroughly enjoyed this One just as much as The Girls in the Snow, the first Nikki Hunt novel.
Nikki an FBI agent, and her boyfriend Rory join the search In her home town for a young boy that is missing, presumably taken by his mother. When the two are discovered dead, Nikki helps out with the investigation and then is given control of it by the acting sheriff.
This is a gripping edge of your page turner, suspenseful, and keeps you guessing as to who has done this and why. The past mixes into the present for a twist you never thought of.
Highly recommended.
I have also pre ordered the book. Excellent.
Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to preview this book.
Nikki is a FBI agent that has a history of closing cases. When she gets called into a case that was only discovered because of some black ice and an accident, her world becomes very busy very quickly. Besides being a busy agent, she is feeling with a lot of baggage from her past and trying to juggle her present, a young daughter, an ex husband, a new love- who happens to be the brother of the man who was convicted (and cleared!) of the death of her parents. Along with her top notch ten, Nikki is working hard to find the killer of a son and daughter, as well as locate a missing boy before time runs out!
This is a new author for me. I had never read any of Stacy Green’s books before. This book was so good that I could not put it down for 2 days. I was so drawn in to the story, which is how I judge what books I love. It continue to move and twist. I enjoyed the comradeship of her co workers and I can hardly wait to see her relationship with Rory grow! I can hardly wait to share this book with my reader friends and read more books by this author.
Agent Nikki Hunt finds herself in Stillwater again, she’s been a regular visitor since she’d solved a previous case in the place she’d grown up. This time a boys gone missing and together with Rory they’d help the local police in searching the area believing his mother who’d lost custody of him had kidnapped him.
After their bodies are found Nikki is put on the case to discover what happened to them.
I was so pleased to get this book through netgalley. After reading the first book in the Nikki Hunt series, the girls in the snow, I’d pre ordered this book looking forward to finding out what was to come for Nikki and I wasn’t disappointed. It was a great story with plenty of unexpected twists which I loved. The story ended really well and unexpectedly, I’d not guessed who was to blame and had suspected most of the characters at one point or another. I’m definitely a fan of the author and will be looking out for book three as well as checking out her other books too.
A great crime thriller that is well worth checking out.
i so loving this series each book is very gripping and love the main character Agent Nikki hunt .she gets a phone call to say 2 bodies have been found in the ice a women and boy the young boy Nikki has been looking for they think the mother has done it but not the case Dana has a sister Maggie with her husband Joe who had custody of Kellen but Nikki starts to find out all is not as it seem s with the sisters .then the reporter Caitlin rings Nikki begging her to find Zach a young boy who has gone missing the police do not believe he still alive has drowned .and Nikki is in a relationship with Rory but not told her ex husband or daughter yet not saying no more but so so good
The highly anticipated sequel to The Girls in The Snow sees the return of FBI agent Nikki Hunt. Set only a couple of months after the first book, the dust in Nikki’s personal and professional life has still not yet settled.
I loved this book. Although I felt it had a relatively slow start it was needed in order to familiarise myself with Nikki’s new lifestyle. But as the questions mount up and the story begins to unfold, the pace of this book really starts to ramp up!
Unlike the first book, I felt that the storyline was much less twisty. I guessed early on who the villain was and thought the article Nikki read in Courtney’s office was a huge giveaway to a ‘link’ in cases. That aside, what was left was a great opportunity for Stacey to really focus on developing her characters and their setting. This is only book 2, let’s not forget that! With such an explosive debut novel there wasn’t much time to delve into Nikki’s day-to-day living and explore her relationship with Tyler and Rory. This book was what Nikki’s character needed whilst still delivering a thoroughly enjoys and engaging read!
I love Stacey’s style of writing. It feels very familiar to me as I read her words even though (to me) she’s a new author. Her characters are always believable and well scripted. I particularly liked the dialogue between Caitlyn and Nikki. Whilst opposing characters they found a place to connect and if anything working together rather than fighting each other made them stronger. It would be interesting to see how their relationship pans out going forward. Nikki is always going to resent having Caitlyn on her heels but after this book I believe there will be a long standing friendship.
I’m a real crime fiction geek and love a good police procedural. So, for me, Stacey Green is right ‘up there’ at the top of well written, procedure-following, real-world investigation work. I love how detailed she gets with her stories and uses all of her knowledge of investigatory profiling to totally create a believable line of enquiry and follow it through to a conclusion.
C’mon then Stacey! Get your laptop out... we want book 3!
Thanks to NetGalley for my advance copy in exchange for my honest review.
Loved it! An FBI thriller which is book two in the Nikki
Hunt series. I so enjoy Nikki, she’s a mom, an agent, a woman, in a relationship and just an all around bad ass !
I loved the first book and couldn’t wait for this book and I can’t wait to follow Nikki wherever her future path may go.
I love her team, her boyfriend and I enjoyed that we got to see a more human side of journalist Caitlyn.
A murder, a disappearance and a 25 year old cold case ... they couldn’t possibly be related... could they ?
One Perfect Grave by Stacy Green was a fast-paced crime thriller that I thoroughly enjoyed.
FBI agent Nikki Hunt and team step in to assist Sheriff Miller when the bodies of missing nine-year old Kellan and his mother Dana, who was suspected of kidnapping him, are found. As the team delve into Dana's drug addiction and rehab history, they realise that a secret buried in her past maybe the key to solving the murders. When another missing child case comes up, Nikki is quick to brush it off as unrelated, but on taking a closer look, she is horrified to realise that they may have a child predator in the small town of Stillwater.
I love a good procedural drama, be it on TV or in a book and this one was right up my alley. The well-written characters, the engaging narration and twists in the plot all made for an interesting read. The bits of romance in the plot occassionally took away the focus from the original story, but I guess it was required, inorder to depict all facets of the protagonist. My only beef with the plot was the character of Maggie whom I truly detested right from the start. I believe she got off too easy in the end.
This was an easy read with not a dull moment in between. I intend to go back and read the first book in the series too.
A big thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for providing a free digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This was a great follow up to The Girls In The Snow. Nikki is a great character and the way that she acts feels very real. I did feel that this dragged a bit at times after the start until about halfway, but then it takes off & I couldn't put it down. I thought it was well-plotted, and I can't wait to read the next in this series.
Another winner by Stacy Green! Book 2 in the Nikki Hunt series did not disappoint and I can't wait to see what she takes on in the next book.
Great new series and I look forward to reading a lot more in the future. HIghly recommend for fans of crime thrillers.
Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for the eARC.
FBI agent Nikki Hunt is on the search for a killer. Set in a snowy Minnesota landscape, this story is full of atmosphere and tension. I have not read book one in this series, but felt this book was a good stand alone, with only a few references to past cases. The book starts quite slowly but soon picks up a fast pace and does keep the reader entertained. The culprit was pretty obvious from early on, but the storyline kept the action going. At times I do think the plot became a little confusing, and the author certainly doesn’t like rush hour traffic, quite a lot of references to it!! All in all a good read.
Thank you NetGalley for the arc.
WOW! WOW! WOW! Just finished and I have to say it is one of the most action packed books I have read in quite awhile. One of those books that make you turn the pages as fast as possible. Edge of your seat story. The reader feels like part of the story always looking around trying to protect Nikki's back. And the End Unbelievable!!! A must read!
I loved this second book even more than the first. Nikki Hunt is a complex character and I love the her development. We also get more Rory which I was really hoping for!
The case is unimaginable and an emotional rollercoaster. Just when I thought I had it figured out I found out how very wrong I was. The reveal left me stunned.
I loved the ending as well. It was the perfect wrap up for what was a very intense read. I can't wait for book three!
Such an anticipated read, and it did not disappoint! Nikki is trying to live a normal life in the town she grew up, lost her parents, the wrong man sat in prison for ages for the deaths of her parents, and she has started dating his brother. There is also a new case, and since it’s a small town everyone knows each other, and it always seems to make it worse. Astonishing read!
A mother and son are found dead. Murdered. The mother was a known drug abuser, and did not have custody of her son. Instead, her sister, whom she hated, and her brother-in-law have raised her son. A lot of secrets are revealed, some shocking, others surprising. Cleverly written, well-plotted, and I’ve fallen in love with the quirky town and it’s people. I’m afraid though that once Stacy tells the story of every single person in this town half of them will end up in prison.
I felt like it dragged on a bit too long after the beginning towards the middle, but luckily after that it really picked up and smoothly moved towards the last words. The book is both bewitching and charming, and the main characters are simply real and alluring. Stacy is an amazing author, and I can’t wait to read the third book in the series! I hope this series goes on forever.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

One Perfect Grave continues a few weeks after The Girls in the Snow. FBI Agent Nikki Hunt is a fantastic character—smart, strong, and compassionate. Nikki stays calm while juggling several different cases at the same time. She has a great team/support system with Liam and Courtney.
The book has plenty of action but one thing that I kept thinking about was how the author really went through the minutiae of what it takes to solve crimes. This includes the countless interviews, follow ups, forensic data, and coordination with other law enforcement agencies. This wasn’t boring, in fact I liked this book even more than the first one. It was interesting to see how Nikki builds a case.
Looking forward to more Nikki Hunt novels in the future.
